20 December 2010 Cedar's Sinai Hospital Beverly Hills, CA There I was. The doctor's office. A place that I am all too familiar with. I sat there, in my all too revealing hospital gown, and might I add not at all flattering to say the least. I had my legs crossed at the ankles, swinging my legs back and forth as I awaited the results of my MRI. I began to look around the room and started to observe my surroundings, looking at the jar of cotton swab sticks, the box of powder lined latex gloves that hung from the wall next to the packets of lubricating jelly. Not the greatest image to be staring at, but I couldn't help but notice the two items conveiniently paired with each other. A cold breeze passed by, from where it came from I have no idea. There are no windows in the room, yet the cold gust of wind seems to be a common characteristic of Doctor's offices. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. The sounds of loafer heels colliding with the tile floor of the hospital began to come closer, and closer. Every time I come to the hospital I get nervous whenever I hear the Doctor nearing closer because they often tend to bear bad news. My heart began to beat faster, and faster, and faster with each step that drew closer to the door. A bead of sweat began to trickle down from my forehead, making its way down the side of my face, dislodging itself from my chin before free-falling down to the doctor's room floor. "Cody.." The door swung open, and the Doctor stepped foot into the room with a folder in his hand, the contents containing the results of the MRI that I just completed. He opened the folder and tipped his eyeglasses downwards on the bridge of his nose. He licked his thumb and index finger and began to finger through several pages. He stopped on a specific page and stared at it for a few moments. He started to make gutteral noises and smack his lips as he shook his head. The anticipation, the wait, the awkward silence before the pending announcement was killing me. "What is it Doc," I managed to mutter out. "I am afraid that I cannot clear you for competition.. It seems you have a concussion." The words came out of his mouth almost as if in slow motion, I couldn't clearly comprehend what was going on at that moment in time. Suddenly, everything began to speed up and I snapped back into reality, "WHAT?!" I questioned. "At least for a couple of weeks, just to make sure." "No, NO! You.. NO! I have a big event on the 2nd! You have to let me compete Doc, I'm begging you! I'm pleading with you! Let me compete just this once and then afterwards I will take the few weeks off!" I wasn't one to beg, but the opportunity, the ONE SHOT at becoming the number one contender for the sVo World Heavyweight Championship was just the thing that I have been waiting for. "I'm sorry Cody. There is nothing else that I can do. I will see you in a couple of weeks." I began to slowly sink my head down, lower and lower into a my own self-pity and guilt. The Doctor made his way towards me and placed his wrinkly, gray haired covered, cold hand on my shoulder and gave me the old fashioned 'everything is going to be alright' pat on the back. But I knew deep down inside of me, that in my heart of hearts everything wasn't going to be alright as this was just another thing to add to my continuous downward spiral in the Sanctioned Violence Organization. He turned around and began to make his dramatic exit from the room, more dramatic given the fact that I was just hit with a medical suspension due to the concussion that I suffered during my Season's Beatings matchup at the hands of Karma Jones. He placed my medical folder into then bin hanging from the door and closed it behind him, leaving me behind to soak in the news. My One Shot... My dream of becoming sVo champion... Once again, has taken a back seat. Son of a bitch. 6 January 2011 Cedar's Sinai Hospital Beverly Hills, CA There I was. The Doctor's office. Once again, I found my sitting on the Doctor's table at Cedar's Sinai hospital, this time hoping for a much different result. This time I was hoping to hear from my Doctor that my medical suspension has served its time and that I would be able to start wrestling again. This time, however, I wasn't wearing that God-damned hospital gown, instead I was wearing a nice buttoned up shirt, a tie, a vest, and some loafers, you know, the normal Cody Williams stuff. I felt more at ease this time around, probably because I was fully clothed or maybe because I had a good feeling that the Doctor would be the bearer of good news, rather than gut-wrenching, stab you in the heart, kill your hopes and dreams kind of news. Tick-tock. Tick-tock. Tick-tock. I glared up at the clock hanging on the wall above a poster that illustrated the anatomy and physiology of the human. I observed all the ticks in between the numbers, counting each and every single one of them. There was sixty of them, but of course you already knew that. Or at least I hope you did 0_o. My eyes then began to wander around the room much the same as they did the last time around, taking a gander at my surroundings once more. Not much has changed, the faucet still wasn't properly secured, a constant drop of water escaping from the faucet. A jar of lollipops, the kind that come in lemon, lime, cherry, and grape. You know the ones where the lollipop stick isn't straight but curves back up into the candy. The cheap stuff. My eyes then find their way to the box of gloves and the lubricating jelly, the world's greatest tag team. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. I jumped onto my feet, and adjusted my coast and fixed the double windsor knot of my tie as I awaited the arrival of the Doctor in hopes that he would be giving me the news that I was wanting and needing to hear. The door slowly opened up and he stepped inside the room with two pieces of xray film. He flashed me a friendly smile to which I acknowledged with a half assed smirk, more of a courtesy smirk. He placed the xrays onto an xray illuminator and flipped the switch, lighting up the xrays to show pictures of my cranium. He picked up his eyeglasses that were affixed to his chest by a head strap and placed them low on the bridge of his nose as he examined my xrays. He leaned in closer and started to nod his head, making those damn gutteral throat noises, and smacking his damn lips. Why do all Doctor's do this shit? Just give me the damn news already! The wait is killing me! "What is is Doc?" I asked him, tapping my fingers against my thighs. "Well.." he said as he continued to examine the illuminated pictures. Impatient, I butted in, "Well..?" "Well Cody, it looks as if you should be good to go. I will take you off of your medical suspension and you should be good to compete this week." I clapped my hands in celebration and single fist pumped, "Yes! Thank you sir, you have made my day!" The Doctor placed his hand on my shoulder and what is usually a 'everything is going to be alright' shoulder pat now has turned into a congratulatory shoulder pat. He took his glasses off and tucked them neatly into his white coat front pocket as he grabbed the xray images from the illuminator and placed them into the bin hanging from the door. He waved at me in passing and exited the room, closing the door behind him. I stood there, my hands on my hips, nodding my head. I didn't know of much else to do then to just stand there and be happy that I have been afforded the opportunity to compete once again. Now onto the next chapter of my career, my upcoming match this Sunday at Showdown!!! Colt Cooper. Star Studded... Colt Cooper. The current reigning sVo International champion. A championship belt that I know a little something about, myself being a former International champion once upon a little time. When I won the championship, I defeated one of the toughest men to walk through the doors of the Sanctioned Violence Organization, someone who eventually went on to become the sVo World Heavyweight Champion. When I held the championship, I held it during a time when the professional wrestling business was booming, and the sVo was the place to be. Everyone wanted to be a part of this company, and people did whatever it took to secure a spot on the roster. The competition was stacked during my first stint with the company and the competition was steep, everyone was a tough competitor and everyone was more than deserving of a championship reign. While my reign may have been short, it was one I was proud of as I wrestled some of the best this business had to offer and I was humbled by a better competitor. And another thing that has humbled me has been this conscussion that I suffered at the Season's Beatings pay per view. A stiff chairshot to the head may not seem like something to cause a concussion but when the person on the receiving end is unaware of the attack and takes it unprotected, a concussion nothing less than ineviatble. This time off has allowed me to take a step back, take a breath, and analyze my game plan and my plan of attack here in this company. It has allowed me to look at my available pathways from a different perspective, from the outside in rather than the fish in a fishbowl perspective that professional wrestlers seem to have during their careers. It has allowed me to realize that while I may have my eyes set on winning the richest prize this business has to offer, I still have to prove myself to every single person who doubts me, to those who say that I should have hung up the boots a long time ago. And it starts with you Colt Cooper. One of the best ways to make a statement in the company is to defeat one of their top stars. Ever since my return I have delivered top notch performances each and every night, even when my body was telling me no I pused myself to my limits every time I stepped into the square circle and gave it 110%. I have taken every single one of my opponents to their limits, win, lose, or draw, ask them who their toughest opponent was and they will tell you hands down it was "The Reflection of Perfection" Cody Williams! And there is no doubt about that. And you my friend have the right and the priviledge of facing Cody Williams at Sunday Night Showdown. There is nothing more of a statement maker, than to defeat someone who holds a top tier championship belt and that person is you Colt Cooper. You hold something that was once dear to me, something that I cherished, something that I wore proudly. You on the other hand have disgraced that championship with your dastardly ways, your cheap tactics, and your non-fighting champion attitude. I will take it upon myself to beat some sense into you and make you realize that your days as reigning International champion might be numbered. My journey to the World Championship may seem like a road less traveled ever since I returned to the sVo but I have not lost sight of my end goal, and I have not taken my eyes off of the prize. The obstacles that I have to overcome en route to the championship will only make winning the belt that much sweeter and that much more glorious. And on Sunday, you are just another obstacle that I must encounter and overcome. I hope that you bring everything that you have and that you can prove to me that you are just as good as you say you are, because this Sunday I will be bringing in the big guns and rolling in with the heavy artillery and the cross hairs have already zoned in on you and are locked and loaded, and ready to go. And after the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, and you look up at the arena lights from your back, not knowing what just hit you.. You will realize why I am "The Reflection of Perfection" Cody Williams, God's gift to professional wrestling!!! You call yourself star studded.. The only thing star studded is The Company's dildo that you have shoved up your ass!!! Edited by Perfection, Jan 7 2011, 07:29 AM.
