Last week will be viewed as nothing but a stutter step when people look back on the long and succesful history of James Von Drake. Losing to the likes of Nathan Paradine and Cody Williams would have been embarrassing under normal circumstances, but the tag team match last week on Showdown was not normal circumstances. If JVD was to take on Nathan Paradine or Cody Williams one on one in singles action, then there would be no doubt as to who would be the victor, but even one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the business in JVD was always going to struggle with a dead weight like Karma Jones as a tag team partner. It was well known that Karma Jones wasn't the cleverest man on the sVo roster. After all he had gone after the Las Vegas Championship, a belt he was never going to be in with a chance of winning with someone like JVD as Champion. If other proof of Karma Jones being intellectually handicapped was needed, then you would only have to look as far as his first match in the sVo. Karma Jones was placed in a tag team match with Nathan Paradine and Dave Steel, and his team had a great chance of winning, after all they were against the largest jobbers in sports entertainment, the Rodriguez Brothers. However despite the fact he could have won the match and got his sVo career off to a flier, Karma Jones thought he would bring a steel chair into play and get his team DQ'ed. Way to go Einstein. Anyone looking back at the match would know that JVD was handicapped by having Karma Jones as a partner, but things would be much different when it came to JVD having to rely solely on himself, and defending his Las Vegas Championship against anyone who fancied a shot. Dr Goldsten was alone in his office as he sat behind his desk waiting for his patient to arrive. Being someone that charged by the hour, he wasn't used to having his patients turn up anything but on time, but then again his patients were not usually millionaire superstar wrestlers like James Von Drake. Suddenly the door swung open, and the flashy Las Vegas Champion stepped through the door with a grin on his face. Wearing designer labels on every piece of clothing as usual, JVD also had the Las Vegas Champion belt strapped over his shoulder. The doctor made a point of looking at his watch as JVD slowly made his way across and made a big show of sitting on the seat whilst looking back at Goldstein. James Von Drake: "Hey don't forget how late you were last doc. If you can;t be on time for me, don't expect me to extend the courtesy to yourself. I'm a business man and time is money, and money is my life." The doctor choose to ignore the remark as he slowly sat down opposite the Las Vegas Champion, not taking his eyes off of the Championship belt strapped over the shoulder of JVD. Dr Goldstein: "Do you carry that thing everywhere?" JVD quickly got on the defensive as he polished the belt and puffed out his shoulders. James Von Drake: "I worked damn hard to get this. Why wouldn't I show everyone my greatness?" Dr Goldstein: "I thought you were a big star who had won titles where ever you had gone. Surely you had won bigger titles than this one?" James Von Drake: "I might have won bigger titles in name, but not bigger titles in status. Sure I have been World Champion, Heavyweight Champion, ect, ect. However all of them had been a cakewalk to win. I had to bleed, sweat and claw my to this title belt. I haven't had to work this hard to win anything in my life, which is why I don't intend on losing it any time soon." Dr Goldstein: "You must be quite disappointed to have lost to two of your rivals then?" If JVD was disappointed, he wasn't about to show it to the Doctor. He still wasn't happy about having to come here because of that bitch Katie Smith accusing him of hitting her. It was intention to get these five sessions out of the way as quickly and easily as possible. James Von Drake: "It's not a big thing, if anything it just shows how useless that Karma Jones is that he managed to drag me down to that level. At the end of the day when it actually matters at Seasons Beatings, I will be the one walking out victorious, with this belt still in my possession." Goldstein looks at JVD for a few seconds as if he is examining him, before changing the subject. Dr Goldstein: "Well last week our session was cut short, but this week I want to talk more about your family. I understand that your brother is also in the wrestling business?" JVD quickly lifts his hand into the air to cut off the doctor and correct his question. James Von Drake: "He is my half brother, and I wouldn't really consider that idiot to be part of my family. He is a nobody who tries to live off my family name. He wasn't even calling himself Von Drake until he found out how much money our family had. I would also say its a big overstatement to say he is part of the wrestling business. He follows me around to every federation I have ever been apart of, but he has never had success anywhere. He hasn't even had a sVo match since rocking up here." Dr Goldstein: "You never thought of taking him under your wing and helping him to reach the same kind of success as yourself?" JVD shakes his head, he had enough of that suggestion at home from his wife, he didn't need people who knew nothing about him and his situation telling him what to do about his half brother. James Von Drake: "I don't want anything to do with Kenny. He has tried to be me for my whole life, but he just doesn't measure up. I didn't have a brother to help me out when I was coming up, why should I give him an ease route to the business? If he ever wants to be a star then he has to pay his dues just like everyone else. Only problem is that he won't because he doesn't have it in him. He hasn't worked a day in his life. If I had my way I would send him back to where ever he came from, and stop him living off of my family name." JVD gets up and begins pacing around the office, something the doctors takes note off whilst he is talking about his half brother. Dr Goldstein: "Well you got to face three guys who have a tight bond with each other this week. You not worried about that match?" JVD shakes his head and begins to make his way towards the door. James Von Drake: "Look, this is a complete waste of time. The Canadian Connection have got nothing on the Company. If they know what is good for them then they won't even show up this Sunday night because they are going to get run over by myself Cooper and Rider. When you got a team with the Las Vegas Champion, the International Champion and a star like Rider, then no one stands a choice. Rider and Cooper beat Roscoe Shame and Bobby Dean last week! What chance in hell do Chris Wrestling, Rey Rosario and the Chris Benoit rip off have?" JVD opens the door to the office, and begins to walk out. James Von Drake: "As Matt Anderson pays you by the hour for this, consider the next half an hour a freebie on me." JVD smirks at the doctor before walking out of the door, leaving Goldstein shaking his head wondering what he will have to do to get through to the cocky superstar. With an easy match up against Rosario, Crippler and Wrestling this week, will James Von Drake be able to go in the massive PPV with 100% focus? Will he ever be able to work on the same page as his brother? Fade Out. |
