"Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 - 7:55pm - Suite 2413, Goodfellas Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada" Sitting high above the Las Vegas strip in his darkened suire, the masked wrestler known to the sVo universe as Nightmare surveys the glimmering lights below him with a sinister but somewhat dissatisfied smirk. Granted he had just come off a huge win - one of the biggest in his sVo career to date - yet, he was still not happy. The status quo was still far from restored in his mind. Nightmare takes a swig from the glass of scotch in his hand, the half-emptied bottle sitting beside him a vague indication of how long he has sat perched, watching. The silence is interrupted abruptly as the door to one of the adjoining bedrooms swings open and the elderly Japanese figure, Akira Kimura, Nightmare's reluctant manager strides into the room. The two exchange a dark glance, obviously neither man trusting the other. Nightmare is first to break the stare-down, taking another swig from his glass and returning his gaze to the sea of life swarming on the street below. "I just got the booking sheet for this week - you have your work cut out for you again," Kimura offers, obviously unhappy with his current situation/company and yet still trying to perform the task presented to him. His entire career had been spent either as a competitive wrestler himself or as a trainer. It had been three years ago that he had begun life as a manager, following his protege, Night - Nightmare's brother - to the Sanctioned Violence Organisation and their new lives. His involuntary servitude to Night's older brother had come as a last minute stipulation to the match between the two Miyamoto brothers which now sees the former World Champion out of action indefinitely, his career in tatters thanks to his own brother. Glowering at his former mentor's words, Nightmare takes a long pause and draws in a slow breath. He finally breaks the silence replying coldly, "I've read it... and don't insult me. 'Joey Q'?" He pauses again, this time taking another sip of scotch, "Please. You and I both know that no one Anderson puts in front of me is any match for me. Hell, Anderson knows it, that's why Equinox is now in the unfortunate position of being the next 'sacrificial lamb'. There is no question I will win, since I took care of Akumu I've been eliminating The Company's problems week after week." "It certainly is doing wonders for your confidence and modesty..." Kimura cuts in, his voice filled with disdain and disgust for his former student. His accusing words draw a scornful look from Nightmare. "Look at my record," Nightmare explains matter-of-factly, "While Night and I were partnered together we were beating the hell out of each other and were STILL undefeated as a team. Then I took out Night, the former World Champion - I ENDED HIS CAREER. I removed El Locon from sVo. I defeated Roscoe Shame... "... by disqualification," Kimura quickly interrupts again. "That was a lucky break for Shame. We all know he was finished. He was locked firmly in the Nightmare Sleeper..." Nightmare snaps back clearly irritated by his mentor's interruptions - only to be cut off once more. "... KIMURA Sleeper," Master Kimura responds with a smirk, clearly taking a great deal of delight in his former student's growing irritation, "And I will remind you that it was that move which Shame reversed to defeat Night for the title." Without warning the masked wrestler slams his glass onto the side-table before leaping off and over the couch, slamming a hard knee into the old man's chest before locking him in an inverted headlock before dropping back and wrapping his legs around Kimura's flailing body. "The KIMURA Sleeper ends here," Nightmare hisses menacingly as he mercilessly locks the hold in tighter, "But as I'm sure you know - and if you didn't, you'll feel it now I'm sure - I am a master grappler, unlike Akumu who risks his own health flying around the ring. I have mastered this move unlike anyone else, a slight pop of my hip, the tightening of the sleeper... there is no escape." Finally he releases the hold, the old man rolling aside and grasping at his throat. Managing to sit up, he backs away before pulling himself up to a seated position leaning back on the couch as he struggles to regain his breath. Nightmare immediately stands and crosses towards the old man, bending forward so that the two are face-to-face. "I may have learnt the move from you but I perfected it," he gloats, "That's why I renamed it - it is superior to the KIMURA Sleeper. I can assure you and I am certain Shame knows that he was finished. BBD stuck his nose in the match and tapped for his life at the hands of the Nightmare Sleeper. It was merely Shame's good fortune that BBD managed to change my win from a submission to a disqualification. The message was still sent loud and clear... I am the dominant force in the sVo." Kimura claps slowly and sarcastically, his icy glare still burning holes in Nightmare, "Well congratulations. But you'd better get off your pedestal or Equinox will bring you crashing back down. I am familiar with his ring work and he is a certified talent and an sVo veteran. You know the sVo will not lay down and die for The Company - Equinox is fighting for more than himself..." Now it is Nightmare who interrupts, "Equinox can fight for all he wants to fight for - he is no match for me." He seethes as he continues, "Anderson continues to feed me his problems... this is definitely not what we discussed. I defeated the World Champion and here I am fighting Joey Equinox - what the fuck is that?" "I sincerely believe you are taking Equinox far too lightly," Kimura protests. Nightmare is livid. He turns, kicking at the side-table sitting his drink and kicking hard at it, sending the table, whiskey and all, flying. "Have you been paying attention to anything I've been saying?" he rages at his former mentor, "You trained me - you saw my potential from the beginning. And now, I have the focus, the drive and the intensity to finally fulfill that potential. The fact that I could drag you along for the ride and make you realize what a fool you were to follow that moron Akumu instead of me in the first place is just the icing on the cake." Kimura clenches his jaw as his face reddens slightly with anger, "You have to keep bringing him up? Thinking of the things you've put your brother through since you showed up makes my blood boil and makes it very hard for me to want to be around you." Nightmare retrieves the fallen bottle of scotch from the debris of the now former side-table and takes a swig from its remaining contents. "It doesn't matter what you want, 'Master," Nightmare responds condescendingly, "Just part of the deal I made with Night before I beat him and ended his career - and I keep bringing him up because it bothers you." He laughs coldly before taking another gulp. "Did it really hurt you this badly that I managed Night in the first place?" Kimura questions, eyeing Nightmare with challenge, "Or is it the fact that he went on to become one of the most successful, popular and iconic wrestlers in the history of sVo and of the KIMURA Dojo?" "He is nothing compared to me and you know it," Nightmare's response is menacing and is as much a warning as a statement. "His sVo World, International, Tag-Team and Hardcore Title reigns would seem to indicate the opposite," Kimura gloats, "We all know you're the biggest gold whore there is and yet you still haven't held a title in sVo... as yourself, only a poor imitation." "Without me he would have lost that title to All-Star as early as May and you know it!" Nightmare retorts, fuming, "And now that I've defeated Roscoe Shame, Anderson and The Company can no longer ignore my talents... I'll go have a word with our friend 'Anarchy' this Sunday after I take out Joey Q. Now clean this shit up and get them to send up a new table and some decent scotch - no more of this shit." Nightmare tosses the bottle into the remains of the table before storming out of the room and up the stairs towards the roof leaving a depressed Akira Kimura to clean up the mess left behind. |
