Howard Thompson
sVo Wrestler
[ * * * * * * ]
sVo Showdown #37 was an unexpected event to not only the fans, but the wrestling talent in the locker rooms too. No one knew what was going on that night, just the staff who worked on the events. Something big had too happen though as everyone on the roster were told to be at the Goodfella's Casino arena for their spot on the card and so things would run smoothly.

Just as many predicted, even possibly the fans too, it was a big main event. It saw the crowning of a new pair of sVo Tag Team Champions. A special tag team elimination match took place between odd tag teams put together. Everyone saw it as a surprise when Howard 'The Bank' Thompson had to team up with Asesino to try and capture the gold together.

Unfortunately though, the team was eliminated before the end and when it came down too it, The Corporation would take home the belts. Both DJ and Chris Wrestling had their hands raised when the dust had settled and the smoke had cleared. Howard Thompson was one half of the first ever sVo Tag Team Champions back in 2008 with then partner, Gunner Lang.

Although the last couple of matches hadn't turned out too well for 'Mr. Bank', he had another title opportunity this Sunday at sVo's first pay-per-view event of 2010 - Resurrection. Howard Thompson would take on opponents Christopher St. James and Julianna Torres. Christopher had taken a brief look at one of Howard's matches a few weeks back when he took on the Magical Top Hat Hunter.

No one really understood why he was there on the ramp way watching him, but maybe the answers will be revealed this weekend. As far as Julianna Torres is concerned, she is the current reigning sVo Las Vegas Champion who will put her title on the line in a triple threat match. This was going to be one of many championship matches on the night and it was probably one of the favourites at that.

Just a few days away from the event and Howard 'The Bank' Thompson had already been to the gym to get ready for his return to pay-per-view. Now it was time for him to get mentally ready as he was already physically. A lot of people were rooting back home for him, even his new girlfriend Amy Clara. She went by A.C. for the most part, as she didn't like her last name Schaefer.

Many others in the company seemed to be pulling for him, but in a poll held by the Sanctioned Violence Organisation, it seemed Howard wasn't on the top of everyone's list. Rather it was a man that Thompson saw a lot of himself in, that being Christopher St. James. While the champion, Julianna Torres was close to about the same amount of votes that Howard had gotten.

Times had changed, Thompson was no longer doing movies, nor was he interested in the Hollywood lifestyle. It was back to Canada and back too his roots. After all, it was where he started his career in the first place, this time however it was time to go in a different route and direction, something of which was more honest and real. That's when Howard was home for most of the week in Brantford, Ontario.

'The Bank' traveled to Toronto, Ontario though for a quick interview with the Canoe Slam Sports association. Many different Canadian athletes were profiled on there, even such big names as Wayne Gretzky, Bret Hart and much more! Today was Howard's turn as he met up with a reporter regarding his career in professional wrestling thus far and what he's doing now.

Here's how it went down...

Howard Thompson sat down with Matt Bishop and conducted an interview, the first one that 'The Bank' had ever done with the company. Thompson was sporting a three piece suit that was black with a white dress shirt, black pants, black over coat, black shoes and a red tie. Bishop had a beige collared shirt with black pants and black shoes on.

Matt Bishop: "First off... welcome back to your homeland, Mr. Thompson. Thanks for taking the time to sit down and have this interview with us."

Howard smiles, sitting in a chair across from Matthew. He nods his head and then responds.

Howard Thompson: "It's no problem at all. I was actually just back home for a little bit before I head back down south to the States to do what I do best."

Matt Bishop smiles now and cocks his head at him.

Matt Bishop: "But what exactly would that be? I mean... you've done it all. From movies to wrestling to singing to even owning your own club..."

Howard chuckles.

Howard Thompson: "Good one, that's actually a good question. But no... it's for wrestling as I am no longer doing any of the others, besides maybe singing the odd time here and there."

Matt Bishop: "We of course profile athletes and famous people from the country of Canada. You were born in a small town of St. Mary's, Ontario I believe but later grew up in Brantford where you currently reside, am I correct?"

Howard nods his head as he sits up straight in his chair.

Howard Thompson: "That's right."

He pauses, then gives a clear explanation on that.

Howard Thompson: "I grew up most of my teen years in Brantford and am currently seeing a girl from Woodstock which is just a short drive west of there. My family still lives there, my brother Mike works for the giant company of Wal-Mart of course while my parents are now retired and get to sit at home and watch me down in Las Vegas right now."

Matt Bishop sits across from Howard and continues to record the interview over his laptop that he brought as he continues to type the comments being presented by the sVo wrestler.

Matt Bishop: "So you mentioned you are wrestling down in Nevada right now. What's the company called and do you have any important dates coming up in the near future?"

Howard Thompson: "I am currently wrestling for the Sanctioned Violence Organisation. I was doing some work for Warped Wrestling in Philadelphia but recently pulled out of it to focus on the sVo. I worked there for quite some time and it has just always felt like home to me. Speaking of wrestling... there is an important date this Sunday actually. I'll be wrestling at the companies pay-per-view event called Resurrection."

Matt gets all the info down and then continues with his questions...

Matt Bishop: "So what exactly does that event name mean to you? And how are you going to be apart of it?"

Howard has a bottle of water in his hand that he takes a sip from. After putting it on a small wooden table in front of him, he looks up to Matt Bishop and says...

Howard Thompson: "I am going to be in a match with a man who is probably going to be the next big thing in the future of this business. I see a lot of my old self in him from my Hollywood days as an A-list movie star as well as a lot of his attitude when in the squared circle. There's also a female who is holding the sVo Las Vegas Championship which is a smaller title in the company. Her name is Julianna Torres and she is part of a group called, The Corporation."

Howard clears his throat while Bishop is typing his answers into his program which allows Thompson more time to gather more of his thoughts. A few seconds later he has more to say...

Howard Thompson: "As far as the name of the event is concerned, it actually means quite a bit to me. It's not only the resurrection of the company and it's first pay-per-view event since 2008 but it's also the resurrection of my career. I haven't done so well over the last couple years but being back home in this company makes me feel a lot more comfortable with my surroundings and with what I can bring to the table. When I am at home I feel alive, I feel like I can match anybody in that ring and I hope both my opponents are as ready as I am because I'll be coming to tear the house down this Sunday night."

Matt Bishop: "You sound pretty confident and I want to wish you luck right now and thank you for coming to us and doing this interview."

Matt Bishop closes up his laptop and places it on his desk as he stands up and walks up to Howard. Thompson also gets up from his seat and the two men shake hands while Howard heads out of the building and on his way to Las Vegas, Nevada this Sunday for sVo Resurrection.

And just like that... the interview was over.

Howard 'The Bank' Thompson was set for action this weekend and didn't seem intimidated by his opponents one bit. Maybe the former sVo Hardcore and Tag Team Champion would add another championship belt too his repertoire? Only time would tell.

Fin.
