Inside a local pub, Ronnie Long is at the bar drinking a beer. Beside the bottle, three empty shot glasses all turned upside down. His facial expression is that of a lost man. His clean cut, gelled up hair, and boyish good looks are faded in the dark setting. His facial hair which once was none at all is starting to infest his face. Looking down at the bar, shaking his head. Just mumbling to his self, as if the answers will come out or he will listen to his own troubles. ‘A thought is not always a meaningful thing. An idea is not always bright. When you feel that the odds are in your favor and you fail… That truly is something hard to swallow. The prospect of wrestling I deemed myself, but indeed, I was a mere long shot at Showdown. They say being humble is the first step, but how can someone smile when everything they believed is destroyed right before them?’ Ronnie taps the bar, telling the bartender of his desire for another shot and another beer as he finishes up the one in front of him. The bartender shakes his head, before reaching down and grabbing the bottle of Bud Light from the cooler and removing the lid. ‘Jack Daniels again son?’ Ronnie nods, never making eye contact with the bartender. This somewhat irks the bald headed man, with the devil patch on his chin. As he pours Ronnie the shot of Jack Daniels, he sets it in front of him. ‘What’s eating at you?’ The bartender states with desire to make conversation. Ronnie grabs the shot and downs it quickly, chasing it with the beer. Setting the glass upside down, he looks up at the bartender. The neon lights make it hard for Ronnie to see the man fully, but in his thoughts, it did not matter. ‘Truth is man; I am not much into talking at the moment.’ Ronnie states before hanging his head down once again. The bartender throws his towel over his shoulder and laughs. ‘Well I could not help but to hear you talking. Maybe to yourself, but loud enough to attract my attention at least. You never know, an outsider’s opinion might be exactly what you need to bust that depression bubble you have yourself in!’ Ronnie looks up at the man, and smirks a small smile. He nods, agreeing with the bartender. ‘I spent a year, building my epic career in a wrestling ring. In one night, I became a forgotten name. I wrestled for a year in a company before taking a break. Joined the Marine Corps and after that chapter was done, I decided to give the wrestling gig one last shot. My second match back in this new place, and this joke of a talent beat me. My career took a shit, and that shit landed on me!’ The bartender laughs, before pouring two shots of Crown Royal and setting one in front of Ronnie and keeping one in his hands. He holds it up to Ronnie and then downs it. ‘Let me inform you on something kid. Life is not about just how successful one can be. No one cares if you can ride a fucking horse! What they care about the most is, if you are thrown off, will you climb back on ride again. The true road to success starts with disappointments and ends with stories to tell your grandkids. No matter what you do, no matter how many times you are defeated, show the world that you won’t be forgotten about. When you shove yourself down their throats enough, you’ll find out success comes so much easier!’ Ronnie looks at the bartender with look of awe, as he grabs his shot of Crown and downs it. He sets the glass down and nods his head a few times agreeing with the guy. ‘This week, we have a pay per view. I am forced to fight for my chance to become a challenger for the Las Vegas Championship. Strange enough, I am forced to face some guy named Raven in a ladder match. I just spent last Sunday in a cage with this man’s partner. I am just not sure if my body can deal with it.’ The bartender raises an eyebrow, and eyes Ronnie. ‘Las Vegas Championship? Wait a damn minute!’ Ronnie looks at the bartender with a puzzled look. ‘You know of the belt?’ The bartender nods, as he goes to speak. Although, his words are long forgotten or probably not even heard as Ronnie Long passes out at the bar. The bartender looks at him and shakes his head. The camera focus on the man, as the close up is coming into focus, but the scenes fades quickly.
