Las Vegas… Sin City… what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. There have we got all of the clichés out of the way… good. Beyond all the hype and the bright lights what Las Vegas really is about is chances… first chances… second chances… and last chances. And me your narrator for this story have used up about all of my chances. This is quite possibly my last chance. Let’s see shall we? Highly decorated college football player falls from grace… check. A second chance with a career in wrestling only to fall again… did that too. Hmm let’s see… another chance at wrestling… got the girl… lost the girl… lost a Dad… got a Dad… got seriously injured… true story. Came back to work backstage only for the company I love to be closed down. That was eighteen months ago. Where has Johnny ‘All-Star’ Starzano been for the last eighteen months? Let’s just say I was out there finding myself. You see I had some money fall in my lap, the only good thing to come of being a Moretti, but more on that later. But I did have enough to start a little company, live comfortably for like ever, and do some good with the rest. So with no worries… I helped… wherever and whenever I could. I changed… I became a ‘good guy’ and I liked it. I wasn’t in it just for myself anymore and thing started going my way… who knew? I fell in love… more on that later, and bam… sVo reopens. So here we are… Las Vegas… sVo… my last chance… and I won’t fudge it up this time… I hope. beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep Slowly I roll over to shut off the offending alarm and find her side of the bed already empty with a note left on the pillow. I sniff in the intoxicating smell of her perfume as I read the note. Called into work early. Didn’t want to wake you. Good luck with your interview, I know you’re going to kill it. Can’t wait to see you at supper. ![]() XoXoXo Mrs. All-Star It brings a smile to my face every time she refers to herself as Mrs. All-Star. Gotta love being in the honeymoon stage of a marriage. It’s too bad she can’t be here with me today. But she was right I was going to kill the interview today. God I missed this… interviews… building the hype… the cheers of the fans. But this time its going to be different. I push myself out of the bed, neatly making it before m morning routine. Pot of coffee and check in with the office… All-Star Inc. isn’t going to run itself. Quick work out. I may not have bee in the ring for the last eighteen months but I certainly haven’t let myself go to waste. I flex in the mirror smiling at myself before stepping into the shower… I put on all fifteen pounds in the right place. The warm water cascades over me as I start to go through the interview in my head. Question: Why sVo? Answer: It’s my home. I’m sVo through and through. sVo folded, I didn’t go running to a Hostility, a GLCW, or a Dream like many of the other returning stars. (I hope you’re listening Paradine.) Question: Your opponent The Teacher? Answer: Don’t know anything about him or what he thinks he’s going to teach anyone here in the sVo. I know I have nothing to hide… especially behind a mask. Good luck in the match. Question: The ‘Alex Ross’ Tournament, and your chance in it? Answer: First off…the ‘Alex Ross’ Tournament… please. I know Nathan Paradine refused to comment on this but I’m going to tell the truth. The guy did nothing for the company… he wasted the title fighting losers like Travis Williams, and Peter Gilmour, and even if rumors are correct planned on passing the title to Peter Gilmour. He was a disgrace to the title, the sVo, and human being’s in general. Who else would take a wrestling grudge as far as to kidnap an opponent’s kid. Then when he realized the walls were closing in took the coward’s way out. Sorry but it’s true. As for my chances I guess they’re as good as the next guys. Anyone that wins the title has to be a step up from Alex Ross. Question: The future of sVo? Answer: Bright and fantastic. Bright and fantastic indeed. In a city that everyone takes there chances, and anything that can happen and usually does happen. I find myself paying my dollar and taking my chance… once again. |
