Psyko Stevo
The Best Around
[ * * * * * * ]
*As the cameras come into focus we are presented with an aerial view of the Las Vegas strip. All kinds of familiar and world famous sights can be seen, such as: Ceaser's Palace, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand and Treasure Island. The cameras pan down the strip and we see people going about their business. Jeeps loaded with college kids, limos with important exec's, taxis carting around normal average Joe's who spent a good chunk of their savings to head out to Vegas for a weekend or more. The cameras continue to pan down the strip and finally they reach a large tower... the Strastophere. The cameras crawl up the side of the building and finally as they zoom in, we see two men in an elevator. The cameras get closer and closer and we finally make out the men... they are the former two time World Heavyweight champion of the sVo, Psyko Stevo, and his friend and former Hardcore Champion, Joseph Equinox. The elevator sits parked on top of the building as Equinox turns to Stevo.*

Joey: Stevo, thanks again for dinner. I really appreciate it.

*Stevo pays little attention to the words of Equinox, instead he chooses to look out the glass elevator and down at the people and events transpiring on the Strip. A frown comes to his face after a few minutes, and Equinox fumbles his hands around uncomfortably.*

Joey: Everything okay man? You look kinda... sad or something.

*Stevo's frown is replaced by a look of indifference as he continues to look down at the strip while speaking...*

Stevo: Here we are. Standing shoulder to shoulder, on top of the world... looking down... as civilization is crumbling around us Joseph...

*Equinox looks down at the strip and does a bit of a double take. The camears pan around and there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary going on.*

Joey: Huh?

Stevo: Look at them... so much unfufilled potential.

Joey: Who?

Stevo: Everyone... all of them.

*Stevo continues to look down at the strip and the action taking place on it.*

Stevo: The entire world is turning into a cesspool of laziness and sloth Joseph, and we're at the epicenter of it.

Joey: I don't think I follow...

*Stevo finally breaks his gaze over the strip and looks at Joseph Equinox.

Stevo: You don't get it? Come on man, look around you... the world is dying. Crime is everywhere, people are looking for the easy way out... hard work, sacrifice and dedication are things of the past.

*Stevo points down at a group of taxi cabs that are lined up outside of Caeser's Palace.*

Stevo: Half the people that get in those cabs are probably going less then a mile away.

*Stevo looks down at a man in a busines suit who is walking with a woman who is most definitely a hooker.*

Stevo: That man right there, I bet he has a wife and kids at home. He's unsatisfied, but rather then being a real man and communicating his problems, he just gets his rocks off with hookers. Probably told his wife he's on a business trip.

*Stevo looks down at a family of four who are harmlessly walking the strip.*

Stevo: What kind of a parent brings their child to Las Vegas?

*A shady looking man tries to hand the father a piece of, what we can only assume, is pornographic literature. The man takes the pamphlet and promptely throws it in a trash can before even opening it up.*

Stevo: Can't even walk the street without a merchant of sin and laziness attempting to harass him and his family.

*Stevo once again diverts his attention from the strip, fed up with what he has seen. He looks back at the elevator door and shrugs his shoulders as Equinox looks on with confusion.*

Joey: So, what can we really do?

*Stevo looks directly into the eyes of Equinox as he speaks.*

Stevo: Don't you hear them Equinox? Can't you hear them?

*Stevo pauses and there is dead silence in the elevator.*

Stevo: The world... it's crying out for a hero. It's crying out for a man who will show them the way. It needs someone to step up and show people the right way to live.

*Stevo once again pauses.*

Stevo: And I'm answering that call Joseph.

*Stevo looks down at the strip with disgust as we see a group of hookers standing on a corner, they lean in towards the family Stevo's eyes were previously following and while we can't hear what the women are saying, we can only imagine. The family continues to walk on but we can see the man's face turn a shade of crimson red as his wife pulls her son near as they continue their walk.*

Stevo: The world isn't a good place anymore Joseph... sin and evil have reached everywhere, they have corrupted everyone. Sltoh and laziness have inhabited the souls of at least ninty percent of humanity, possibly more. The system has broken down Joseph, it's in need of repair... no check that... it's in need of elimination.

Joey: Huh?

Stevo: It's simple. The world is broke Joey... and I'm the only one who can fix it.

*There is a semi long pause in the elevator as Equinox looks at Stevo... a mixture of fear and curiosity on his face.*

Joey: How can you fix it though?

Stevo: The message...

Joey: The message?

Stevo: Yes, I will deliver my message, and people will follow it. The days of the minimilazation of the average human being will be a thing of the past. I'll pick people up by their bootstraps, I'll teach them how to fight for what they believe in, how to be the best that they truely can be. Laziness, corruption and indifference will not stand in my way... nothing will stand in my way.

Joey: Some people just kind of like being lazy and doing the wrong thing though... you know? Sometimes it's just easier to be a scumbag then do the right thing...

*Stevo scratches his forehead as he listens to the words of his friend.*

Stevo: Yes... sometimes it might be easier to do the wrong thing... I know I will have opponents, many of them. I know there will be men and women who don't see eye to eye. The further up the ladder you go, the more successful the man or woman, the less he or she will want to see the world change. I understand this Joseph... but I won't let them stand in my way. Nothing will stand in my way. All who oppose me, will be... eliminated. We're not just srpreading a message... oh no, we're establishing a new order of humanity.

*Equinox still appears to be in a bit of shock as the two men look onto the strip as day is rapidly turning into dusk.*

Joey: Stevo, about that match against Faith...

*Stevo waves his hand in the air in indifference.*

Stevo: Don't worry about it, you did your best... things happen. Besides, I probably should have been there at ringside to see things through.

Joey: No, you had other things to do.. I know the whole deal with Travis Williams and all that an...

Stevo: Travis Williams...

*Stevo stares off once again, this time though he just stares at the horizion.*

Stevo: Williams... the false prophet.

Joey: Huh?

Stevo: I... despise Travis Williams. He, is... outdated, his ways are... obsolete.

Joey: What do you mean?

Stevo: Williams, his methodology, his tactics, everything about him... it's stale, it's false. The way he drags his son around wrestling arenas, trying to obtain fans in the process. He thinks he's some kind of champion of good, but really, he's just an idiot... and he doesn't understand that he's not doing his son any favors by bringing him to wrestling arenas... he's only putting him in harms way.

Joey: Well, I agree with you there.

Stevo: He talks about losing respect for me, about others in the sVo losing respect for me... and thinks I really care? What will respect ever get you, nothing but a bunch of "I'm sorry's" when things don't go your way. Nothing but a lot of hanger on'ers who just want to leech off the glory you possess. No, I don't care about respect these days... the only things I care about, are my family and the message.

*Stevo pauses before looking at Equinox.*

Stevo: You know what's funny Joey?

Joey: What's that?

Stevo: Nine out of ten times, what people want, and what is actually good for them... are complete opposites.

*Equinox chuckles a bit as he nods his head.*

Joey: Can't argue with you there.

Stevo: Travis Williams is trying to give people what they want. He's trying to give them some false image of a broken man who is on the road to recovery... but that's the problem, it's false. See Joey, I've given up on the false realities, I've realized that Full House episodes where everything magically turns out okay in hlf an hour, they just don't cut it, they dilude the general public, not empower it. No, I've given up on trying to give people what they want... I'm now dead set on giving them what they NEED. And let's face it... what the average person these days needs, is a good slap in the face and a point in the right direction... a swift kick in the ass and a lesson in respect. That's what I'm bringing this time around Joseph, and no one is going to stop me. Travis Williams is a relic of the past, his message is outdated... his views are obsolete. Respect, good intentions, false portrayals of oneself to gain notorioty and fame... it's all a thing of the past, and Travis will realize that this Monday night, when I'm beating him from pillar to post, teaching him the message firsthand in the best way I know how.

*There is a brief pause and just as it appears Equinox is about to speak, "Butterlies and Hurricanes" by Muse can be heard. Stevo reaches into his breast pocket and pulls out his cell phone, placing it to his ear.*

Stevo: Huh? It's time already? All right, I'll be there shortly.

*Stevo turns and hits the button for the first floor on the elevator. As the elevator kicks into gear and lowers, Stevo looks at Equinox.*

Stevo: I hope you're ready for this Joseph. It's not going to be easy...

Joey: Well you know what they say... nothing worth doing ever is.

*Stevo chuckles a bit as the elevator rapidly descends.*

Stevo: I suppose you're right... cliche... but correct.

*The elevator hits the bottom floor and Stevo motions for Joseph to exit. He does so and the cameras fade to black as Stevo walks off in the opposite direction of Joseph, pulling his cell phone from his pocket and making another call.*
