When we last saw our hero- World Champion Alex Ross- He had desperately locked himself into his locker room to get away from a crowd of curious reporters, some of them asking the "wrong questions" that would later set Alex Ross off. He tucked himself away in a big leather chair and reasoned with himself as he faced withdrawals of some sort of addiction. When he couldn't find his "resources" that he so desperately needed, he back tracked to realize he must have somehow lost it in Paige Johnson's office when he stopped by after his match with Hooligan. Since then, the reporters have passed and Alex Ross has had the mess he made cleaned up by custodial staff. Now it's time for the World Champion to finally make his way back to the office to find his "resources" before Paige does. We open in the main sVo corridor where Paige Johnson's office is. 'The Perfect Ten' Alex Ross is walking but stops in front of her door. Ross freezes when he hears shouting. All of the sudden two police officers turn the corner and run down the hall in the opposite direction. Ross feels a cold chill of relief. He looks both ways before turning the door knob and enters. Her office is pretty well kept. The walls are bare aside from one sVo Main Event poster featuring superstars such as Psyko Stevo, Night, Travis Williams, and of course, the World Champion Alex Ross. This poster was made before the main event at Countdown to Violence, though, so Alex Ross is displeased with it upon sight. The room appears to be empty so he starts retracing his steps. There's nothing in site, but this is no search to give up on. Ross gets on the floor and closes one eye in hopes to find it under the desk. Suddenly, the door swings open and there stand Paige. She looks confused but Ross looks a whole lot worse, beat red in the face and acting nervous. Paige: Can I help you with something, Mr. Ross? Ross: No... I mean, yes. I hope so. A friend of mine, he gave me this little bag to deliver to another friend, see... and I have no idea what's in it, I just need it back and it should be here, this is where I was when I last had it. Paige glances into her garbage can where a little ziplock bag full of white powder lay. Paige: I'm sorry, I haven't seen it. Would you like to report it as stolen? Ross: NO! I... well, no thanks. I just really need it... I'm pretty sure it should be here. Paige tosses a manila folder into the trash to cover it up. The World Champion finally gets off the floor. Paige: Nope. I'll be sure to let you know if it comes up. Ross: Thanks. By the way, nice poster. Thought about an update? Paige: I did, but I rather like this one... Quite a bit more than the new one, actually. Ross: Burn. By the way, Paige, did you notice that someone that I'm facing this week in the main event isn't on the main eventer poster? Paige: Ross, I realize you're upset with the match, but the guy is an upcomer, he's on your tail as far as you should be concerned... And also, that poster is ten million years old... He's on the new one. Ross: Goddammit. On my tail? You know who's on my tail? Travis Williams is on my tail. The guy had his chance, Paige! He blew it, I won the shot... How did he deserve this? Talon beat him, make him the number one contender. Paige: No, because I know you'd manipulate him into laying down for you. Do me a favor, get over yourself. You're champion, you have to defend... And quit holding down Talon, he's got way more love for this sport than you do. Ross: Fuck off, Paige. You don't know me. Paige: I know your type though. You're a dime a dozen. Ross: I am the World Champion, Paige. Your little secret agent boyfriend ever wear my title around his waist? I earned the title and I'm keeping it. Give shots to undeserving people, whatever... I'm more than capable of defending... I win when it counts. Paige: Well try winning when it doesn't. Show me against Fiasco this week. Ross: Oh, you know I will. Fiasco has nothing on me. He has Stevo's stamp of approval? Stevo lost the World Title to me. I'm the top dog, Paige. Fiasco doesn't stand a chance. Ross carries himself to the door but Paige stops him, still glancing at her garbage can without Ross knowing. Paige: Ross, you have no idea what I'm saving you from. Ross: Well save me the stress of your bullshit. I am not a happy man right now. Paige: I can see that... And you're going down... And you'll end up taking the sVo down with you... Between you and this shadows stuff going on... Ross: Good God, the shadows? Who wouldn't love to whisper things into Peter Gilmour's ear and not take responsibility for the actions later on. If you're worried about something following you around, ditch Bond. Trust me, the guy has some skeletons. Paige: Ross, stop. Ross: THE GUY HAS BEEN IN A BOYBAND. Paige: No, he hasn't. Get out. Stay out of my hair and maybe we can get along. Ross makes his way out and slams the door behind him. Paige sighs on the other side. As Ross heads down the hall, he wips out his cellphone and enters his contacts. He selects "Tony Bonasera" and sends. The phone rings until picked up on the third tone. Ross: Heyyyy, Tony... I'm gunna need more of your stuff... ... ... No, I didn't use it all yet. I had some trouble, but you are in the clear, so don't worry. Just send someone to Goodfella's when you can. Have the order for Nick Polowy, though. I don't want this shit going direct, in case they can't get through. Ross keeps on walking, hangs up his cellphone, and we fade out. |
