* The shot opens with a plane descending over Las Vegas, the Vegas strip is shown with hotels like the MGM Grand, Bellagio, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Paris, Caesar’s Palace and Imperial Palace. The scene shows the inside of the airport, as BlaZe walks straight through, signs off on his luggage transportation and steps outside, looking for a car. A red and black stretch pulls up, and out steps Jennifer Hedger, TSN On-Air personality. *

Jenn: “BlaZe! Jennifer Hedger, TSN.”

BlaZe: “Are you kidding me? I know who you are! I’m a loyal Sportscentre watcher, what are you doing here?”

Jenn: “Well Countdown to Violence left a huge impression on the Canadian wrestling fans, so much so that they want to see the sVo covered on Sportscentre highlights, we at TSN are even trying to work out a deal to broadcast Showdown live. Of course it helps that we have a former hockey player holding a title.”

BlaZe: “No way! It’s that big? That’s good to hear. But aren’t you strictly on air? Why wouldn’t they send someone like James Cybulski or Farhan Lalji?”

Jenn: “Well, they’re pretty much stationed to stay in their base cities, so when it comes to big events like this, they send the on-air people. This one came down to Cory Woron, Jay Onrait and myself. I thought you would take more of a liking to me.”

* Jennifer winks playfully while playing with the top button of her blouse, as if to oversell seduction. BlaZe smiles back in return. *

BlaZe: “Well I personally, am a fan of Cory, but I guess you could work too. But what did you mean by big event? I haven’t heard of anything other than Showdown.”

Jenn: “Well, we were trying to get into contact with you before Countdown, but we couldn’t locate you, so we figured this time we’d stalk you at an international airport, feel like interviewing?”

BlaZe: “Sure, when’s good for you? I just sorta need to get to my hotel, then I’m free for the next few days after that.”

Jenn: “Why don’t you ride with us? We’ll get the interview out of the way on the way to the hotel.”

BlaZe: “I guess that could work, thanks.”

* Jennifer signals to the driver, who scurries out of the car, to open the door for BlaZe and Jennifer Hedger to climb into the limo. *

* The driver shuts the door as Jennifer reaches for the Limo Bar, pulling a bottle of white wine and two glasses. *

Jenn: “Ready to take this on yet? Or would you prefer water?”

BlaZe: “No way, I’m fine for that.”

* Jennifer pours two glasses, setting the bottle back into the chiller. The two clink glasses, taking sips from their wine, but putting them out of the way of the shot, just as the car begins to start up again. Jennifer reaches over, clicking a switch that starts a countdown from 20 seconds, as a red recording light flashes. She reaches over to BlaZe, fixing his shirt and straightening him out. *

Jenn: “Ready, we’re on in 5…4…3…2…-- “

* The famous Sportscentre intro song plays for a few seconds *

Jenn: “There have been many athletes-turned-wrestlers, basketball players, football players, baseball players, boxers, but here’s a treat for the fans back home, a Toronto-born hockey player-turned-wrestler. For all of our hockey fans out there, you’ll recognize him as a former member of the Toronto Maple Leafs farm system, and a member of Team Canada’s World Junior Team, for our sVo fans, you’ll know him as a current Tag Team Champion, here he is, BlaZe.”

BlaZe: “Thank you for feeding my ego Jenn, it’s good to be here.”

Jenn: “So, we’re in Las Vegas, home of the Goodfella’s Casino and home of the sVo. Now, interestingly enough, you’ve never competed at the Casino, despite it being the base location for all things sVo.”

BlaZe: “That’s true, my debut on Showdown was the first date of our World Tour, out in Australia. Countdown to Violence was the final stop on the Tour, and from now on we’ll be back at Goodfellas.”

Jenn: “Do you find it tough to only wrestle in one location, in front of the same mold of fans?”

BlaZe: “Well, aside from the sights outside of the Arenas, we have the same set, and everywhere we go ends up looking the same. The fans all around the world seem to be cut from the same mold, all knowledgable but all accepting our craft. Depending on where you go, you’ll find some guys are liked more, so I would rather be in Toronto every night, but at the end of the day it all comes down to how you perform inside the ring, not where that ring is located. Besides, Vegas is like the world in a city. If I really wanted to, I could wrestle and go for a drink in Paris, Egypt, New York, China, or Monaco, by just walking across the street.”

Jenn: “Well all joking aside, when we come back, we’ll get down to some tougher questions.”

* They remain seated for a few more seconds, before Jennifer reaches across and shuts down the camera. The driver comes around to open the door as they step out to BlaZe’s hotel, the Monte Carlo. *

* They walk to the concierge and BlaZe checks in. Jennifer leads him over to the “Backalley Arcade” where they sit down again, in front of a brick wall background this time joined by an actual cameraman. *

Jenn: “So far your career has been fairly successful, after all you hold the sVo Tag Team Championship.”

BlaZe: “It hasn’t been the worst start, but hasn’t been the best either. I beat one of the sVo’s veterans in Peter Gilmour in my first match. Then I got slapped around by another veteran named Kerry Millano. I was the number one contender for the Las Vegas Title, which I couldn’t win against Twilly, and then lost in the first Tag Title Match. The next time around, we won the Tag Belts, but then I was eliminated in OC3, lost a six-man tag match, but I guess it’s turning around after we beat the HoV on Sunday.”

Jenn: “So have you thought about your singles career? It seems that since you lost that Las Vegas Title match you haven’t been very active as a singles competitor, aside from the Chosen One match. “

BlaZe: “There’s been things happening here and there with me and with Shredd as well. Personally, over the past little while I’ve preferred tag matches because they gave me less work to do, Shredd can really carry a team in the ring. But with the outside things I was dealing with, and that he was dealing with, it was just easier to have someone to fall back on.”

Jenn: “So you plan on continuing to focus on your Tag matches?”

BlaZe: “Of course, we’re the tag champions, we have to focus on our matches, but now that everything in the background has cleared up, I can focus equally on my singles career, and push towards that World Championship.”

Jenn: “So, straight to the top? No Las Vegas, no Hardcore, no International? Just World? Wait, International and World, wouldn’t those equal out to the same thing?”

BlaZe: “We’re not smart, we’re wrestlers, besides, oceans aren’t nations, so they wouldn’t be covered under “International”, they would fit into the World though.”

Jenn: “You really aren’t smart. We’ll talk about your future plans when we get back.”

* The shot cuts, and Jenn sticks her tongue out playfully, teasing BlaZe. *

Jenn: “Ready to change scenery?”
* The cameraman directs them to the elevators, as BlaZe and Jenn head upstairs. BlaZe hits his floor, level 11, but Jennifer hits the button to the penthouse suite. *

Jenn: “The interview isn’t over, remember? We’re shooting up top.”

* As the elevator stops at 11, they close the door and head to the penthouse. Entering the suite, BlaZe looks at the view of the Vegas strip, before Jennifer leads him outside, to the private pool. The cameraman heads back inside to pick up a piece of equipment, as Jenn and BlaZe take a seat at a patio table. *

Jenn: “Man, it feels like we’re in the middle of the desert.”

* Jennifer removes her jacket, and unbuttons the top two buttons of her blouse, just as the cameraman returns signalling to start the scene. *

Jenn: “So this Showdown, you’ll take on an opponent, or opponents, that you don’t know yet. What are you looking for in your match?”

BlaZe: “Well, I’d like to have my match against a title holder, that would give me a shot at winning their belt. So, of course I’m looking for a single’s match. Hopefully something with No Disqualifications, because first and foremost I’m a hardcore wrestler, and I haven’t had a chance to showcase what I can really do in the ring.”

Jenn: “There’s been grumblings around about a mini-rivalry between you and Shredder, any truth to that?”

BlaZe: “Heh, well, we’ve been joking around about what would happen if we drew each other for Showdown. Yes, we do have a bit of a friendly rivalry, which more or less stems from Shredd. He’s such a good competitor in the ring that you can’t help but try to top him. Friendly competition is good too, because it helps us push each other to be better and better. We’ve got a lot of the same qualities, but a lot of different ones too. He’s a pure martial artist, fights for himself, fights within discipline. He can take to the sky, and in trained in the use of weapons, although he won’t use them unless he has to. I’m more of a showman, I fight to entertain, and I’m a hardcore fighter. I can fly sometimes, but prefer to use other tactics to win matches, including using weapons as often as possible, within the rules. I know a bit of martial arts, mostly defensive moves, he’s getting flashier with his moves, and is learning to harness other weapons, because nunchuks aren’t really a staple at a wrestling match.”

* BlaZe and Jenn both share a quick laugh *

Jenn: “Any desire to take on someone who has beaten you?”

BlaZe: “Yes. I’ve tried to at least break even with competitors. Brock and Hooligan beat us, and we beat them. Gunner Lang beat me, and I beat him, guys like Twilly and William Voorheez, I’d love to take them on again, show them what I can do when I’m really on my game. This Sunday I wanna stay away from a Tag match and show the sVo what my singles game can do.”
Jenn: “Well I’m sure we all look forward to Showdown. That’s all from Las Vegas, back to the newsroom.”

* The scene cuts, as Jennifer asks the cameraman to pack up and leave, he says he’ll be back to get his stuff another time, and quickly makes his way out. *

Jenn: “So, is the heat getting to you too?”

* Jenn takes BlaZe’s cap off and puts it on *

Jenn: “Why don’t you come take a dip in the pool, it’s nice and cold.”

BlaZe: “Umm, I don’t think I should be here any longer”

Jenn: “Relax, its show business, everyone hangs out, everyone has fun, don’t forget that I have Sean back home too.”

BlaZe: “Well…”

* Jennifer quickly unbuttons her blouse, removing it to reveal and red and pink bikini top, she slides down her skirt to show her bottoms, and then takes BlaZe by the hand, beginning to remove his shirt. BlaZe gets rid of his socks and shoes, lifting Jennifer off of her feet, before she slides down, pushing him into the pool and winking at him. She moves to the camera, turning it in the pools direction, and puts it on. She ties up her hair and dives into the pool, surfacing in front of BlaZe, and wrapping her arms around his shoulders, just as the scene fades out, leaving millions of viewers with stiffies.*
