*As the cameras come into focus we see an ariel overhead view of the Las Vegas strip. All the sites are there, Ceaser's Palace, the MGM Grand, the Luxor, and right on down the line. It's early in the morning, but the streets are lined with people. The Good Morning America logo suddenly fills the screen up and we realize that we're not actually hovering above Las Vegas, no, we're just watching on a television. As the cameras back up a bit we see that we're in a pretty small room with all white walls. There are ficus plants next to the television, which rests on a stand and directly across from the TV is a couch, on that couch sits the one and only, current sVo World Heavyweight Champion, Psyko Stevo. Stevo takes a deep breath as the cameras refocus back in on the television, where we see Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer.* Robin: All right everybody, welcome to Good Morning America. As we told you earlier in the week, we're on location today in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada for the monumental extravaganza that has been promised to us today. Diane: That's right Robin, and for all of you who still don't know what we're talking about... well get a clue! It's the Psyko Stevo Pride parade! *The two anchors continue to banter as the cameras once again back up and we see the entire room. Psyko Stevo is now standing in the corner though, looking down at his hands which are clasped together.* Stevo: All right... you've worked your whole life for this moment. This is your legacy, you deserve this, you've earned it. *Stevo sits back down and starts rocking back and forth as he continues to watch Diane and Robin gab.* Stevo: Foolish women... gapping on and on about things you know nothing about. Robin Roberts, you think you understand the Psyko One? Oh no, you don't know the Psyko One... I'm better then you. And you, Diane Sawyer, what makes you think you have any idea what makes the Psyko One tick. You want to know me... but you'll never know me. *Stevo continues to rock back and forth in a very uncomfortable and visually disturbing fashion as silence overtakes the room and we listen in once again to the broadcast.* Robin: What do we have planned here today you ask? Well Diane, why don't you tell them. *Robin looks at Diane and Diane looks off camera for some help, in what quickly turns into an awkward moment on live television.* Diane: I honestly don't know what is planned for today... really, no one knows. Anything could come down the street... I've heard rumors that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and an entire restaurant fulls of Hooters waitresses have all signed up floats in the event, but that's just pure speculation. *Stevo looks on, a sick look plastered across his face.* Stevo: At least you got one thing right Diane... anything could come down that street... just like anything could come down the enterance ramp any time the Psyko One is in a match. Doesn't matter that someone like Alex Ross thinks he has me pegged, thinks he knows my number. Confidence doesn't matter... oh no... nothing matters, because nothing can beat me. *As Robin and Diane continue to speak, the doors to the "green room" fly open and we see Chazz McPhearson standing with a huge smile across his face.* Chazz: You dirty dog, we actually pulled this off! I can't believe it! *Stevo looks up at Chazz, the same uncomfortable intensity still on his face as from a moment ago.* Stevo: Believe it Chazz... but this is just the tip of the ice burg. Chazz: Tip of the? What are you talking about Stevo? You have the entire Las Vegas main strip shut down for a parade in your honor. It doesn't get much bigger then this my friend, we've arrived! *Stevo smiles a sick smile.* Stevo: Arrived? Oh no... we're still in the kiddie pool Chazz. People have parades in their honor all the time... war heros, great politicans, Santa Claus... it's all been done before, this isn't the end of the journey Chazz, this is just the beginning. Chazz: Stevo, I really... really don't follow you here. *As Stevo is about to speak, we see a young man with a Good Morning America shirt come stumbling into the picture, he has a smile on his face.* Man: Um... Stevo? Stevo: What. Man: It's time for you to go on. *Stevo rises to his feet and looks Chazz McPhearson up and down before smiling.* Stevo: Remember... just the beginning. *Stevo leaves the room and as he does so, Chazz plops down in the couch, a very uncomfortable look on his face.* Chazz: What is going on with him... he's not acting like himself, I just don't understand. *The cameras fade from the room and seconds later we're taken to a large makeshift, but professionally built, podium that is set up in the Luxor parking lot. There is a large sVo curtain towards the back of the stage and on the front of the podium we see a picture of Psyko Stevo with the words "Psyko Stevo Pride Parade" under his face. The parking lot is packed with people, young and old, who have traveled from all over the country to attend the event. Behind the curtain we see some last minute makeup being applied to Stevo's face by a young woman.* Woman: I'm a huge fan of yours.... really I am. Stevo: That's great, really, it is. Woman: Would you sign my autograph after I'm done with your makeup? *Stevo's face crinkles up and he looks down at the woman with disgust.* Stevo: Sign your autograph? This is possibly the biggest moment of my life and you want me to take time and focus away from it to sign your freaking autograph? No, forget it you selfish whore! *The woman looks up at Stevo with shock.* Woman: What? Who are... who do you think you are!? *Stevo smiles a smug smile.* Stevo: I'm the best around... and don't you ever forget it. That's enough makeup, I say it's enough, stop now. *Stevo pushes the woman's hand out of his way and motions for two large security guards to escort her off the stage as she protests, Stevo pays indifference.* Stevo: Yes, this is it... you deserve this... you've earned it. *Stevo takes a deep breath as he extends his hand forward to open the curtain that seperates himself from the massive crowd outside. Suddenly and without warning though, we hear a voice in the distance.* Jeeves: Sir, wait! *Stevo stops in mid motion and releases his hand from the curtains, he then looks back as Jeeves and his adopted son Jamal come running up to him.* Stevo: What's up guys? Glad you could both make it, you're just in time for the opening ceremonies! *Jamal gives his father a hug and Stevo smiles a caring, compassionate smile.* Stevo: Come to wish your dad some luck? Jamal: You bet! Jeeves: Sir... *Jeeves has an apprehensive look on his face as he looks at his employer.* Stevo: What's up? Jeeves: Would it be okay... well, would it be too much to ask if... what I'm trying to say is... Stevo: Come on, out with it. Jamal: Can I go out with you?! Jeeves: Er... yes, that. *Stevo looks down at his son and his smile fades rather quickly.* Stevo: You... want to go out... with me? Jamal: Yea! I heard Santa Claus is coming, and the Easter Bunny! Stevo: What makes you think that you've earned the right to share the spotlight with me? How many world titles have you won, huh? *Jamal looks up at Stevo and Stevo looks right back at him, unflinching the entire time.* Jamal: But... but... Jeeves: Sir, please consider it, please. Stevo: Consider what? Jamal wants to try to take my spotlight away from me? This is MY day, not your day... this is MY legacy, not your legacy! *Jamal looks as though he's about to cry, out of the shadows though we see Chazz McPhearson, an uneasy and definitely fake smile plastered across his face. Chazz: Stevo, baby, come on! Stevo: What? Chazz: Think about the PR... Psyko Stevo, his biggest moment ever, but he's not too big to forget his child. *Stevo starts to think in a very deliberate matter.* Chazz: Stevo, the generous World Champ who brought his child out with him on HIS day that HE earned. What do you think? Good Morning America is a family show, families eat that kinda stuff up. *Stevo nods his head as he looks down at Jamal, who is about to cry.* Stevo: Yea, you're right Chazz... I'm sorry Jamal, I was so busy thinking of myself that I never even thought of... the marketing opportunities. *Every lowers their head a bit, except for Stevo who is all smiles. He reaches down and swoops Jamal up before pushing the curtains to the side and steeping into the circus atmosphere that he has created for himself. The fans cheer as "Remember" by Disturbed hits the PA. Stevo holds Jamal high in the air, above his own face so as not to block the flashes from the thousands upon thousands of cameras in the stands. As Stevo finally approaches the podium, he sets Jamal down gently then motions for him to stand off to the left side, far away from the actual television cameras. Stevo then steps up to the mic and takes a deep breath before he starts to speak.* Stevo: Thank you all, so much... so very much... for coming out here on this beautiful LAS VEGAS morning. *The crowd cheer the mention of their cities name like sheep as Stevo smiles a used car salesman smile.* Stevo: Now we all know that today is Psyko Stevo Pride Day... but that doesn't mean that it's JUST about me. *Stevo chuckles aloud to himself as there is some whispering in the stands.* Stevo: It's also about each and every one of you... it's about recognizing our own accomplishments, our own achievements. Today is a day for self reflecton, a day where we just put everything else aside and have a "me" moment. Days like today are important, but it's also important that remember these are days which should only come around once ever great while. *Stevo continues to read from his pre-rehersed speech as the fans are listening to his every word.* Stevo: People like Alex Ross are so busy trying to be clowns, that they tarnish their own image... it's sicking and disturbing. Each and every one of you should... *We suddenly start to hear a baby crying in the stands and Stevo breaks from his speech.* Stevo: Could someone quiet that kid up? This is a really expensive, really important moment up here, and I need everyone paying attention. *There are some grumblings amongst the crowd as Stevo clears his throat and continues to speak, the baby no longer crying.* Stevo: So where was I? I don't know... I just see so much potential out there in each and every one of you who have taken time out of your busy lives... I see so much greatness just waiting to happen. I see tens of thousands of winners out there, who just need that spark to set them off on their path towards greatness. *Stevo pauses for dramatic effect.* Stevo: So as we reflect upon MY greatness, I hope that some of you in the crowd today become inspired to do great things of your own. Sure, not everyone can be a two time sVo World Heavyweight Champion... and not everyone can be a multi-millionare marketing genius like I've become... but no matter how old you are or how lazy and stupid people might precieve you as being, there's greatness inside each and every one of you just waiting to be unleashed. Maybe it's the old lady you help across the street, or the kid who you help by getting their cat down from a tree... whatever it is, don't be scared by the opportunity when it presents itself to you, be inspired by it. *People start clapping as Psyko Stevo looks out into the crowd with a satisfied smile on his face.* Stevo: Right then, it's my great honor to present to you all, the start of the first annual Psyko Stevo Pride Pa.... *As the crowd continues to cheer Stevo notcies a little boy in the crowd who doesn't appear to be having much fun.* Stevo: Hold on a second... you there, in the third row, on top of your mothers shoulders. *Many people in the crowd start to move to either side as the mother looks up at Stevo with awe and the kid continues to be disinterested.* Stevo: Why aren't you cheering kid? What's wrong with you? *The kid continues to stare off into space as the mother tries to encourage him to be more outgoing.* Stevo: This isn't right... look, come up here, let me inspire you. *There are many gasps and awes in the crowd as security escorts the woman and her son up the short set of stairs and onto the stage. The woman immediately sets her son down and goes running up to Stevo, throwing her arms around him.* Woman: Oh my god, oh my god, I love you, I love you, I'd do anything and everything to and for you, please take me right here and... *Stevo pushes the woman to the side, gently at first but then a bit more forcefully when it appears as though she isn't getting the message. The Psyko One then walks up to the child and takes a knee next to him, the mic still next to his mouth.* Stevo: What's wrong kid? Aren't you excited for the parade? Child: No. Stevo: No? What do you mean? Child: Parades are stupid and so are you! *People in the crowd gasp in shock as Psyko Stevo nearly falls backwards, propelled from the hurtful words of the innocent child.* Stevo: Stupid? Me? Child: You always do the same thing every week... just going on and on about stupid everyday things, it's BORING! Stevo: Boring? Child: YES! *People in the crowd start to whisper to each other and suddenly a woman from the third row screams out... then a man from the seventh... then it appears everyone is speaking...* Woman: Yea! The kid is right! Man: Hey, wait a minute... YEA, HE IS RIGHT! Woman: It's just normal boring stuff, but he pretends like it's really inspirational! *Stevo looks out to the crowd in shock before setting the mic down and looking at the child who has created all the commotion with contempt.* Stevo: Do you have any idea... what you just did? Child: You deserve it! *The child stomps on Psyko Stevo's shoe before running off the stage. Stevo looks into the crowd now, who are mostly boo'ing the man just seconds ago they considered their hero. Stevo quickly picks up the mic and runs back behind the podium before starting to speak.* Stevo: So that's it? You people are really that fickle? *The crowd continues to shout derogatory comments Stevo's way.* Stevo: I'm boring all of a sudden? I'm not worthy of your admiration? Is that what you're trying to tell me? *More commotion from the crowd as even more people join in.* Stevo: SHUT UP! *The audience suddenly goes quiet as Stevo takes a deep breath, obviously worked up from everything that has transpired.* Stevo: So now all of a sudden "Full House" isn't good enough for you people... you people that I thought were my loyal fans. Now all of a sudden good wholesome family values aren't what bring people together... is that what I'm hearing? *The crowd starts to get riled up, but Stevo waives his hand at them.* Stevo: Shut up! It was a rhetorical question. *The crowd is once again quiet.* Stevo: Fine then... you want to see something different? You want to see something crazy? You want to see something never done before? *A buzz is generated amongst the crowd.* Stevo: FORGET IT! *Stevo bashes the mic into the podium and we hear a incredibly loud ringing noise that reverberates through the crowd.* Stevo: You people don't DESERVE to see anything different. You people don't DESERVE anything. You're losers! Each and every one of you who sit there and throw derogatory insults towards me... you're not tough, you're not special... you're a LOSER. The only reason you speak out against me is because you're jealous of me, you're jealous of MY legacy, of MY accomplishments. *The crowd start to boo now as Stevo ignores them, talking over them as best as possible as he goes on.* Stevo: I saw this coming weeks ago... I saw the writing on the wall as soon as I won my second World Heavyweight Championship with the sVo... as soon as I sent Michael Polowy packing. I saw the signs, I knew you people would be jealous, I knew it was only a matter of time before YOU turned YOUR backs... on ME! *Stevo rolls his neck back and forth as few times as we see Chazz McPhearson and Jeeves in the distance both pleading with Stevo to apologize, Stevo pays them no mind though as he continues...* Stevo: Well guess what... now I'm turning MY back... on YOU. Forget it, you're now without a hero to worship, your lives are once again meaningless. You people make me sick... you disgust me... matter of fact, you don't even deserve to look at me. I'm going to continue to focus on the only two things that are important to me... my legacy as the World Champ, and my family. You people don't have anything to do with either of those things... so FUCK YOU! *Stevo tosses the mic onto the podium and once again there is a loud reverberation all throughout the strip as Stevo turns his back on the thousands of fans who showed up and the millions of fans watching at home on Good Morning America.* Just what exactly is in store for the Psyko One at Countdown to Violence? Well, we know he's going to be in a match for the ages against Alex Ross in a falls count anywhere match. What else might transpire? Only time will tell. |
