Misperfections are very attractive to some people. The rare “defects” make some people question everything about something and instantly want it. They see something more than the defect, they see a back story and want to get in touch with it because it has true meaning. On the other hand, there are some people who just don't understand it and they ridicule it. It is a shame that our society is getting rid of these beautiful misperfections. While the sVo superstars are in Canada, there is a man working hard some where in America. He is struggling to pay his bills but he still has a huge smile on his face. He wipes the sweat off his old, white, bushy eyebrows and onto his leather apron. The man starts working his magic and colors start flying all over the place in the air. He is paying an amazing amount of attention to every little detail of the masterpiece that he is working on. There was a time where the man would smile as dozens of people would bid a month's worth of paychecks for his paintings and when a few thousand more would admire his paintings. But now, that has all stopped. He'd consider a day where someone buys one of his paintings as likely as him winning the lottery... and he never plays the lottery. It isn't because he lost a step or can't paint anymore. It is just that you, the normal people, aren't interested in true art anymore. Sure, maybe some people still go to art galleries and a Monet will still sell for millions of dollars but those aren't your every day people. Most people don't have art work, or at least good art work, in their kitchens, bedrooms, and living rooms anymore. It really has come to a point where people are so confused and ignorant that they think that the silk screened reproduced garbage that is framed in their living room is art. Hell, some people might even mistakenly call the printing they bought for $10 a painting. Now, in Canada Mike Manson just stepped out of an native canoe somewhere between the great American Northwest and Vancouver, British Columbia – a few hundred miles away from Toronto, Ontario, Canada where most of the people he will be competing against in a battle royal for the sVo's Las Vegas title are already at. His freshly shaved head shines with some of the mist from the lake and some of the sweat from his soul. His old gray and black baseball styled three-quarter sleeve shirt has also gotten a little bit darker from the sweat and splashing of the lake's water. Manson's eyes aren't on the canoe, or the lake,or the ground that he is walking on. No, his eyes are on more than the sVo Las Vegas title that he has a very good chance of winning on Sunday. His eyes are on the sVo itself, and the revolution he called for and the people who are nodding their heads at it... both in support and others in defiance. Some people might wonder why isn't Manson in Toronto yet. Well, maybe because he has seen the sVo guys enough so far and he doesn't want them to rub off on him. After all, he gets paid to wrestle, right? So, he has to have time to think about wrestling and who he is wrestling and not just running around drunk, having sex parties or getting date raped. So, there he is... with his eyes on the company and his opponents hundred of miles away. Mike Manson: “Do you see what I did? Have you noticed that when I opened my mouth that some people listened. Sure, not everyone. No, not yet at least. But slowly but surely there will be more and more. Before I made my last statement, or whatever, mostly everyone was running around and telling their drinking stories. 'Oh, look at me... I'm an alcoholic, you should be so proud of me... I'm definitely the person who should have this title and be seen as a good representative of not only this company but of professional wrestling.' but after I said something, heads started to nod. Almost immediately, my opponents, T.J. Raven mentioned not only the revolution but his opponents and Frank James joined him, although poorly, in mentioning some of the people in the match. Faith, she joined along, too. Even guys like Matt and Gabe stepped up to the plate too. But, you know, it isn't really just because I mentioned that there is a need for a revolution of respect and competition that needs to go on here. No, it is really more because these people are ready for change.” Mike Manson: “I doubt I had anything to do with Chris Bond actually mentioning who he had to wrestle, but I don't suppose it was much. I do know that he was more enjoyable to watch than most though, and I think it has something to do with him actually caring a bit.” Mike Manson: “As a gentleman, I feel as though it my obligation to, once again, start out with Faith. I don't know if you did it on purpose, Faith, or not but you made me chuckle. When you go out and mention everyone who will be in the battle royal... but fail to mention me... It was wonderful. It was a great metaphorical middle finger to my face, so you may have thought, if you did it intentionally. But, it really wasn't. Because you changed your direction. You said, fuck this, I'm ready for the revolution. You are embracing that you have people you have to go out there and try to beat in a wrestling ring rather than some scumbag who spends too much time at a bar. I'm guessing that you now know that this won't be an easy task and you have to now study your opponents.” Mike Manson: “But hey, maybe I'm wrong about your motives, Faith. What we do know now though is that you aren't like Kaden Alonzo. Who just tries to completely ignore this match and talks about how he should be in the main event against Psyko Steven and Alex Ross. Which is why he will get destroyed by the, how can I put it, the people who aren't big household names that he is booked against, right? Yeah, keep your heads in the cloud, buddy, but you won't be flying up there anytime soon. Especially, when the people in this match are going to start dragging you down and then taking up the spotlight that you so wish to have.” Mike Manson: “T.J., my brother, you are right. This title is secondary to you and I; the revolution is necessary for our survival here. Not because you and I can't cut hack fuckin' promos, watch a few movies and base our lives on that because we can and we'd probably do it better than everyone else here. You could be one Boondock Saint and I'd be the other. But we are above that. We are more original and we, quite frankly, care more about this do to shit like that. We aren't going to record shit and just save it for the day of a big match that we has nothing to do with the recorded material.” Mike Manson: “Much like the our brothers, Matt Thornhill and Gabe, we have to put on a hell of a match to show everyone here the entertaining aspect of actually putting on a good show. He have to put on a fight that most people will remember and walk away talking about. He have to be the trend-setters. I know you are up for it.” Mike Manson: “I'm smiling, T.J. Because I know you are right there ready to do this. I know that you and I are more than willing to go out there beat the living shit out of each other then put the title belt on the other one who wins the match, raise their hand, and walk out the ring with them. This match, to be honest, should really be between you and I right now T.J. And more importantly, this revolution, my friend, is going to happen because of the likes of you and I. We aren't leaders, there are no leaders in this. But we are definitely going to be the guys with the machetes right next to these other mother fuckers cutting down the vines and going into uncharted territory here. ” Mike Manson: “It is also our responsibility to pull our friend, Drew, up with us. Drew has more talent than anyone else here in the sVo and in time he will, undoubtedly, prove it with the sVo world championship around his shoulder. But Drew, you aren't ready for that yet. You aren't the same person you were... and you know that. You think that you are better, now? Do you think that you are darker, scarier, and working for the Lord or Satan now makes you better? No, Drew, it doesn't.” Mike Manson: “Yes, Drew, you lost your wife and children and you are starting to turn your back on your friends. You might not notice it but you are going into a downward spiral. Even if you can cling onto something, make a small way movement upwards, and win the sVo Las Vegas title, you still aren't going to bring back your wife and daughter. You aren't going to be happy. It will not complete your journey. Drew, my friend, T.J. And I know this because we know you.” Mike Manson: “...and lets be honest, Drew. You are personally going to impale us and kill our families? Please tell me it is a metaphor you took too far and not something you actually believe.” |
