4:15am ready with a bottle of Jack in one hand a bouquet of flowers in the other, Faith finishes her shift at Coyote and begins to make her way to pick up her new travel partner. Carrying her things out to her car, she struggles to check her phone to see which hotel Travis had decided to stay at, no doubt seeing from the way he acted and from what she already knew about him, it would be one of the classier hotels in the area. She assumed correctly. She opened the text message. ‘Renaissance’ She rolled her eyes as she put her things in the trunk of the 1967 Chevy Impala. She replied to the text to let him know that she was on her way and would be about 10 maybe 15 minutes tops. Whilst she had the trunk open, she decided it would be a good idea to change into something a little more comfortable then her work boots to drive in. She slips off the boots and flings them into the trunk, standing barefoot on the warm sandy car park, she searches the trunk for another pair of shoes, eventually she pulls out a pair of stiletto Caterpillar work boots and slips them on, she slams the trunk closed and climbs up to sit on it, so that she can lace up her boots comfortably. 10 – 15 Minutes Later… Faith had been expecting Travis to be standing outside the hotel when she got there. She was wrong. She waited ten more minutes. Nothing. The Valet came over and told her that she would have to move soon. She told him promptly where to shove that and that she would be gone in a few minutes, she was just waiting for someone. Another ten minutes. Still nothing. Faith’s temper was running short. She had no idea why she had agreed to take Travis on as a traveling partner. Especially an eighteen hour drive, but what was done was done and Faith would be damned if she wasn’t gonna use it to her advantage. Travis had been the sVo for a fair amount of time and having been the previous Las Vegas champion, Faith had her tactics, but there was no harm in taking some advice from someone who knew the competition as well as he would. But there was something niggling Faith in the back of her mind that there was more to this arrangement then she could put her finger on. Like most it was probably sexual, but in this industry Faith knew it was a case of keep your friend close and your enemies closer. For the longest time she had been sleeping with the one guy she wanted to face in the ring for his title. Is this what Travis was trying to do? Play some little mind games with her? Or was he as genuine as Faith was hoping him to be? Only time would tell. I grab my bags, as I unplug my cell phone cord from the wall, and slide the new Instinct from Samsung into it's holder. I swing open the hotel room door, and head to elevator... Inside, I have a few floors I have to wait through, "Damn, she is going to kill me...Ah well, she takes longer probably!" I hit the lobby floor, and the door opens, DING! I rush to the front counter, drop the keycard off, and rush outside... I walk outside, and see a beauty awaiting me...No, not Faith, but a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. Sleek black paint, and chrome detailing to reflect my beautiful mug back at me, as I approach it. A blonde hair, blue eyed beauty awaits inside...I smile, "Sorry doll, the front counter people were slow on check out!" "Yea Im sure they were, the fact Ive been sat here for about forty minutes and I saw you come down about ten minutes ago..." She smirks. "Its fine, just put your stuff in the trunk and let's get going, we've got a looooong drive ahead of us." I smile, "Care to hand me the keys doll, the trunk is locked!" She rolls her eyes, getting out the driver's seat and walks round to the back of the car and unlocks the trunk. I throw my bags into the trunk and smile, "Thanks doll!" "Your welcome" She sighs cheerily getting back into the driver's seat. She revs the engine, trying to tell Travis to hurry the fuck up. I jump into the car, slamming the door behind me, throwing on the seat belt. "Damn woman, in a hurry?" "I just wanna get on the road, we're already running late as it is." Faith explains as she starts to drive out of the hotel and heads for the highway. "So, how do you like the sVo so far? I find it somewhat annoying, too many idiots allowed in!" "So far? Well I've only had contact with Moretti, Paige and yourself. So so far. Not great." Faith joked. I sigh, as her humor is very dry and not really even funny, other than Paige's name being in there. "Must be better then that! Otherwise, you would not be driving me around doll!" I smile, as she looks at me and I wink! "Oh cmon it was a joke. But I have to say I'd be lying if I didn't admit to having alterior motives to agreeing to drive you." I look at her quickly, with my eyebrow cocked, pondering, "And what would those be?" "Your previous LV Champ, who knows the competition better then you." She smirks, taking a sharp left turn so that she was now driving down some of the familiar back roads of Tulsa, and at 4:50am they were deserted meaning Faith could push the Chevy to it's max and floor it for a while. "Which ones do you need a quick crash course on? It's not like there is one or two, there are like what, seventy?" I laugh after making that remark, but I knew she wanted more than my inside information! "I want as much info as you can give me." She licks her lips ready to take in all the information he could give her. "On all of them." "Well, I tell you what, we'll play name game...You give me a name, and I'll give you what I know! Deal?" He sees the lick, and his eyes grow... "Deal." Faith had to think for a moment, being new to the company she still wasn't one hundred percent on everyone's names. "Ummm. Talon" I laugh, this kid is a funny character, "Ross’ ass buddy...Talented in the ring, but just tell him Ross is in trouble, and he'll be out your hair!" "Ross? As in Alex Ross?" She questioned Nodding my head, "Exactly the bastard I speak of!" "Good to know. Okay..." Faith thought carefully again about the names and tried to faces to them in her head. She smirks a bit biting her bottom lip. "TJ Raven." She wouldn't admit right there, but he was kinda cute. "TJ Raven? Eh, he is decent, but he is not ready to be the big timer he wants to be. He is further ahead in his mind, than his talent will allow him!" "Just outta curiousity, you ever seen any of my matches?" "No, but Max has told me about you. He said you had talent, and was a damn good prospect, just needed the right nudge!" "The right nudge?" She asks with a raised eyeborw, a little taken back by the statement. "Yes hun," I know I need to phrase my words right here. "Guided right, not allowing someone to discourage you, or try to fuck with your heart, to get into your head to make you weak!" "Aaah, I know what he's talking about. Let's just say shame on you if fool me, shame on me if you fool me twice. There's a song, goes something like 'So what good am I to you if I can't be broken.' I used that and Been on a roll ever since. Last solid company I worked for, BAWA, I was World champion." She boasts for a moment. "Back to the game, Drew Carrig" I shake my head and sigh, "He is one that will be tough...But, he is a weak fuck. He hides behind a mask of ignorance, too afraid to face reality, masking it to be some land he has dreamed of. Drew, it's time you wake the fuck up! I hope this kid is dropped on his head!" "I can arrange for it to happen" She giggles. "What about this Faith character, what do you think of her?" She smirked, so far she was liking his company and slowly she was beginning to trust him more then she had at first given credit. He laughs, "This Faith woman, she is without a doubt one to take notice of. The tight short shorts, and the big," he looks at her and rethinks what he will say, "hair! Beautiful eyes, she is probably dangerous! " He smiles to her! She leans over and gives him a playful punch in the arm, laughing at his response. "You better believe Im dangerous." She sat silently for a moment, pondering over the names of her opponents, "Uh, Rodimus, I think that's his name, wears the little red mask thing.?" She asks not one hundred percent sure she was right. "He is apart of the Queefing Queer Hero League, fucking asses one at a time! Be honest with you, wrestling Nanu would be harder, and this kid has a small dick, and no balls. Some girl told the world last week. And he sucks in bed, and thinks he is a superstar!" He laughs... "So Nanu isn't gonna be much of a challenge either? Looks like I got it kinda easy." "Now I get to ask you of a few names..." "I didn't know that was part of the game." "Yes it is, are you ready?" "Ready as I'll ever be" Faith was a little confused, she had no idea who on earth she could answer any questions about in much capacity as she only knew a couple of the sVo from previous experiences. He laughs, and looks at her, "Travis Williams?" She smiles inwardly. "Travis… Williams... He's definitely got a bit of smart mouth on him, thinks he's all that but have yet to see much to back it up other then Moretti's gold card and let's face it sweetie, money doesn't buy everything. But definitely cute and after a few drinks, a danger to the ladies. " "Like most women, speaks before being sure of what she saying!" I position myself in the car and lay my head down. "Oh and obviously doesn't like hearing the truth." She pokes her tounge out at him slightly to indicate she is only playing. They both sit in silence for a few minutes as Faith takes in the beautiful sunrise on the horizon. She glances over at Travis for a moment to see he is in fact now asleep. She rolls her eyes, reaching over him to the glove compartment, she takes out her Ipod, there was no way she was going to be denied her music just because someone else was in the car. She would be considerate though and keep it reasonably quiet. She hooked up the player to the car stereo and set it to shuffle. Creedance Clearwater Revival’s Bad Moon Rising begins to play. Faith giggles quietly, tapping her finger gently on the steering wheel as she leans back, getting comfy for the long drive ahead. She sinks into the seat and rolls the window down, rests her elbow on the frame of the window, her other arm resting on the seat, supporting her head. Faith glances to the clock. 5:35am She figures out the math in her head, if she can make it in one straight run, no traffic, they’ll be in Toronto by 11pm. Faith’s stomach growled at her. She knew it wasn’t going to be an easy straight drive. Eventually she would have to stop, even if it’s just for a coffee or to stretch her legs. Scorpions – Rock you like a hurricane was up next. She didn’t know how it did but somehow her Ipod knew exactly what songs to play. Rock You Like A Hurricane is exactly what Faith intended on doing at Countdown To Violence. Faith hoped to high heaven that her opponents would underestimate her, so just like that hurricane she could blow them all away and steal the victory. She had been in many battle royales, but this would be the first for championship gold. Would the normal cheeky cutsey tactics she liked to pull cut it in this match? Probably not, but it would be a helluva good place to start. Especially with the new information Travis had just supplied her with. Slip out under the bottom rope, flirt with the ref so you don’t have to get back in for a while. Let the guys fight it out amongst themselves, then when they’re tired go in and clean house. Is that enough? No way. Faith argues with herself about the best approach to this match, how about we cut and come back because this could take a long time. .. .. .. .. *11 Hours Later – 3:52pm* .. .. .. .. .. .. Fort Wayne. Travis was still asleep and Faith was struggling. She was now a little behind schedule because she had stopped four times for coffee and donuts. With the music turned up, air conditioning on cold she was doing anything and everything so she could stay awake. She wanted to get as close to Toronto as she possible could before taking a well overdue rest. In the alone time in which she had had, Faith thought over every possible game plan she could use for the match at Countdown to Violence, which was a complete waste of time because she eventually settled on go in, do her best, kick ass and see what happens. This is all she could really offer, not knowing the competition as well as she would like. Sure the information Travis had given her was definitely of aid but she needed to be prepared psychologically. Why else do you think she chose the eighteen hour drive over the sVo payed for flight? Because it gave her a lot of time to think, go over things in her head and get it straight before she even got anywhere near the arena. Faith’s eyes got heavy, she could feel her eyelids begin to droop. She screeched the car to a halt on the side of the road. She debates whether to get out or not but with the rain lashing, she didn’t want to be stuck driving in soaking wet clothes for the next 6 hours or so. She rolled the window down low enough to have a smoke but still up enough so that the rain wasn’t dripping onto the interior of her baby. “Who can sound the call in sisters all come through?” Faith’s cell called out. She scrambled to grab it as the voices got louder. “who, who, delta nu nu nu, delta nu nu nu, you are a delta nu!” A message from one of her sisters. Stephi, the eldest. Faith’s jaw just dropped as she read the message. “What a crock” She mustered. She should’ve expected it. Most gave her the same response when she explained she moonlighted as a Coyote. Especially when she was lucky enough to work with Lillian Lovell, the original Coyote. As for the Coyote vs. Whores… Sorry Hogs. It’s been a long drawn out battle for many years and there is still no definitive answer. And like most other Coyote employees, Faith’s answer was simple. You think we’re the only bars out there doing it? As for her rage issues, yea she did have some, but luckily the few and far between guys she does lash out at, either get such a kick out of getting a shiner from a Coyote, or are to drunk to pursue charges. But in the ring, this Sunday at Countdown to Violence, Faith knew she didn’t have to be so reserved….. |
