Alex Ross
The Perfect 10
[ * * * * * ]
Last week on Sunday Night Showdown, Alex Ross made his victory over Kerry Milano certain, under any means necessary. What he ended up resorting to was inevitable from the start, having involved his bodyguards, Joaquin and Clyde, after running to the outside of the ring and luring Milano to follow. Despite the dishonorable victory and what is speculated as an exaggerated or even faux injury to the neck, Alex Ross took his returning win, causing Milano to lose his spot as captain of the coming super-event featuring Organized Chaos. Having made himself noticed once again, Mike Polowy used his powers as temporary official to book a match between Alex Ross and Psyko Stevo in a Last Man Standing Match. Already having faced tensions in the match in which Psyko Stevo was defeated for the first time and lost his International Title, these two are no doubt up to a rematch, but what exactly Mike Polowy has up his sleeve for the main event could be crucial to the outcome. What does 'The Mike Effect' have planned for 'The Perfect Ten' and the former World Champion Psyko Stevo? Only time will tell. Until that time, Alex Ross is left in the clouds, a bit confused about Mike Polowy's selection and if it could mean involvement in Organized Chaos.

It's a damp, brisk day outside. The leaves have turned themselves over, ready for a much needed rain in Milan, Italy. The mix of classic, old Italy architecture and new age technology would give anyone a comfortable feeling walking down the streets of this city, with something new on every corner, but a familiar experience with little culture shock. Crowds of people walk frantically back and forth in front of a stone bench, where Alex Ross sits with his two bodyguards. The two guards are sporting their same matching t-shirts, reading "5/10" on the front and their names on the back. Alex Ross, however, is dressed a bit more flashy, in a burnt-sienna corduroy three-piece suit with a red tie tucked underneath the matching vest. On his lap sits a notebook computer, with his legs crossed in a four-like shape, one foot over the other knee. He clicks away and Joaquin and Clyde watch from over his shoulders. Alex Ross and the gang smirk, but those smirks soon turn to a burst of laughter.

Alex Ross: Oh my God, this is hilarious. Who makes this shit up, really?

Clyde: Ohmn eylubdayootoob.

Alex Ross: Yeah, well... I love Italy. Who would have thought they'd have WiFi? When I think of Italy, I think of... Olive trees. Anyway, we should probably get going.

Joaquin: Come on, Al-man, we've got time for one more video right? MAN SEARCH CHARLIE THE UNICORN, THAT SHIT IS OUT OF CONTROL.

Alex Ross: No, Joaquin, that shit is exactly that, shit. This guy, however, does a stunning impression of the guy from Sling Blade. Genius. But really, we've got a lot to get ready for, boys... Or should I say, you have a lot to get ready for?

Joaquin: Al-man, I don't see why we have to do all of the work all the time. Have you even tried fighting for yourself in training?

Alex Ross: Why, Joaquin, are you asking a disabled man to endanger himself, even risk becoming paralyzed?! You are sick, man. I pay you guys to protect me, now we can't make any exceptions here, right? These guys in the ring, they want to hurt me. If I was in my proper health, you could bet on me meeting them in the squared circle and holding my own against them, but right now it just isn't possible.

Clyde: Seemn Wahkeenhetoohertmn.

Alex Ross: That's right, very hurt. Far too hurt to be competing. Remember, I didn't ask to be put back in the ring. A guy makes an appearance at his workplace and everyone assumes that he is ready to come back and wrestle. No thanks, I'll leave it up to you guys. You guys can handle it.

Joaquin: We can't take Psyko Stevo on, Al-man. That's not really fair to him... Three on one?

Alex Ross: And why not? Last Man Standing matches are under a no disqualification rule, which means anything that happens in the ring is fair. It's easy... You guys get a few good shots in, I throw in a couple simple maneuvers in myself to make it seem like I did something, and then we leave him there. Counting to ten won't be an issue. The referee will be more concerned about getting Psyko Stevo out of the ring afterward.

Joaquin: I just thought that maybe we'd have you take this one on your own... and give him a real shot at a rematch against you, man.

Alex Ross: Shut the fuck up, Joaquin. You obviously know nothing about competition. I've already won against Stevo. He had his chance to defend his International Title to me and he failed... We already know who the better man is. There is no redeeming himself at this point. He'll be fighting a battle that he can't win. His undefeated streak will never come back to him, and that is something that he has to face going into this match. The best that can happen for him is calling our short history a tie. A tie is not what this man wants, you guys. He wants victory. Look at his obsession with Mike Polowy! The guy can't get over the fact that he just might not be World Title material. I mean, it started off with Mike, now it's back to Mike... What does he really expect to happen in the end of this all? To be the best? He will never be the best, not after what I did to him, and especially what we will do to him this week on Showdown. This main event will be something that no one had seen coming, I can promise you that.

Clyde: Dettledownmn pleasemistaross.

Alex Ross: I'm fine, I don't need to settle down any... It's you guys who need to cool it. You are being paid more than generously, so I suggest you just do what you're told and stop whining. If you don't defend me, what am I paying for? ... ... We can discuss some possible off-time for you fellas once we've taken care of Psyko Stevo for a second time this Sunday, but right now we really have to get back to the hotel so that I can get my bag and we can head on over to the arena for some training... And of course my physical therapist will be there waiting for me.

Alex Ross's eyes shift nervously. He then stands up, closing the laptop with a click of the inside latch. Joaquin and Clyde get up a moment later and get side-by-side next to 'The Perfect Ten'. Alex Ross flips on a pair of sunglasses and they walk around the corner of the block, out of camera-sight.
