Psyko Stevo
The Best Around
[ * * * * * * ]
*As the cameras come into focus we see Psyko Stevo standing in a hallway looking directly into a mirror. We continue to see this image for about ten seconds and then we hear a voice in the distance, the cameras pan around to see Psyko Stevo's most trusted friend and head butler, Jeeves. Jeeves walks up next to Stevo and peers into the mirror with a quizical expression on his face.*

Jeeves: So... what exactly are we looking at today?

*Almost as if on queue, Stevo spins around and looks Jeeves in the eyes before nodding his head.*

Stevo: Oh hey Jeeves... sorry, I've just been really dialed in this week. I mean this is it, this is the week where I prove to the world that I'm the greatest World Heavweight Champ in the history of the sVo.

*Jeeves shrugs his shoulders.*

Jeeves: Greatest? I'm sorry sir... but hasn't there only been one other champion in the history of the sVo? Mike Pol...

Stevo: Well sure... but I hate Polowy and everything he stands for, so it's extra important for me to prove to the world that I'm ten times the champ then that paper champ ever was.

Jeeves: I see....

Stevo: Yea Jeeves, this is beyond huge... three main event calibur stars, two current champions and the third challenger Howie Banks, my best friend. All different styles, all one after another without any type of break or rest.

*Stevo returns to looking into the mirror, his eyes full of intensity.*

Jeeves: I'm sorry sir, but it just seems like you've created an almost impossible situation for yourself... it seems unwinnable...

*Stevo scoffs at the words coming out of Jeeves mouth, breaking away from the mirror and pacing back and forth as he speaks.*

Stevo: Impossible? Unwinnable? Have any other buzz words for me Jeeves? Come on, you know me better then anyone Jeeves and you should know that I love 'seemingly impossible' situations. I ALWAYS rise above in situations like this.

*Jeeves furls his eyebrow a bit as Stevo chuckles a bit. Stevo then turns his back to Jeeves and starts to pace off into the distance, then bounce back as he reels off memorable moments in his career. During this, we can hear Jeeves speaking under his breath but not loud enough for Stevo to pick up on.*

Stevo: Beating Johnny All Star and Mike Polowy in a glorified handicap match...

Jeeves: Thanks to Brock Alyas' unlikely interfearance...

Stevo: Winning four matches in one night to secure the NFWA Television Championship...

Jeeves: You lucked out when Diamond, a woman, reached the finals over the odds on favorite, Lighting.

Stevo: Beating three other superstars in an hour long ironman match en route to my first Dynasty Wrestling World Championship....

Jeeves: On a blind luck last second pin that put the match into overtime, otherwise you would have lost...

*Stevo spins around and smiles a confident smile at Jeeves.*

Stevo: So you see Jeeves... just like the Nike commerical says, 'impossible is nothing'.

*Jeeves takes a deep breath before continuing.*

Jeeves: Sir... every situation that you named above though... I mean, you have to admit, weird events transpired.

Stevo: What's your point? If you persevere long enough against hte odds, eventually something good will happen to balance out the bad situation you are in. It's Karma 101, Jeeves, duh.

Jeeves: Karma? But you've created this situation for yourself, woudln't karma be against you?

*Stevo looks at Jeeves and focuses on what he just said. Finally, Stevo just shakes his head in confusion.*

Stevo: What? No... I'm the good guy, karma always helps me.

*Jeeves rolls his eyes before taking a semi-deep breath and looking at Stevo with genuine concern.*

Jeeves: Look, I just worry about you, you're not the young man you once were and the more you stack the deck against yourself the more chance there is that you might get seriously hurt one of the nights.

*Stevo takes a deep breath and nods in agreement.*

Stevo: I understand your concern Jeeves, and you've always been a great friend to me. However, this is just something that I need to do.

Jeeves: But why? Why is this something that you "need" to do? What else is there for you to prove?

Stevo: I just have to prove that I'm still the best...

Jeeves: When will it end though? When you're in yet another hospital bed hooked up to machines for weeks? When you're confined to a wheelchair for the rest of your life? When you're dead?

*Stevo rubs the side of his face before shaking his head. He lowers his hand and he looks completely worn out, but still wears a smile.*

Stevo: It'll be over soon Jeeves... sooner then you think. When it is over though, I'll go out on my terms., no one else will put me out of this game. You just have to trust me on this, this is something that I just need to do... this is something that I need to prove.

Jeeves: The fans already know... Jamal already knows... I know... heck even your doubters know, even if they don't want to admit it. Who are you trying to prove this to?

Stevo: I just need to prove it... to myself.

Jeeves: Yourself?

Stevo: Yes, myself.

*Jeeves finally tosses his arms in the air, apparently giving up.*

Jeeves: Forget it, I trust you, as always. I'm sure you'll find a way to get it done somehow, you always seem too.

*Stevo extends his right hand and places it on Jeeves' left shoulder.*

Stevo: Thank you my friend, you know that your trust means the world to me.

*Before the moment can continue any further, we hear the sound of a doorbell.*

Stevo: What? Am I expecting guests?

Jeeves: Of course, today is soccer day, remember?

Stevo: Soccer day?

*Stevo scrathes his head and looks at Jeeves with a blank stare. Off in the distance we hear footsteps and a few seconds later we see Jamal enter the scene, giving his father a hug.*

Jeeves: Are you excited for your very first soccer practice with your actual team, master Jamal?

Jamal: Of course I am! I'm super excited!

*Jamal looks up at his father and Stevo smiles a broad smile, suddenly remembering that today is Jamal's first day of soccer. Stevo then snaps to reality and realizes that he is actually the coach of the team.*

Stevo: That's right, the big draft was last week, the teams are all picked and today is finally the first day that we'll get to all practice together!

*Jamal starts to pull on Stevo's arm and Stevo looks down at him in confusion.*

Stevo: What are you doing?

Jamal: Well are you going to get the door? My friend Billy is here, you promised you would give him a ride to practice!

Stevo: Oh yea, Billy... that's right. Okay then, Jeeves, go let Billy in, I want to have a word with Jamal.

Jeeves: Of course.

*Jeeves takes off and Stevo bends down on a knee and looks his son in the eye.*

Stevo: All right kiddo... I gotta level with ya... I did what you told me and picked your friends at the draft, but I'm kind of concerned.

Jamal: Why?

Stevo: Well... all the other coaches were kind of laughing at me with almost all my picks... and none of the kids were rated really highly. I mean, Billy graded a 40 out of 100, and there was no one else out of the two hundred and seventy five kids even below 50.

Jamal: Dadddddd, they are my friends though!

*Stevo strikes a thinking pose as he postures with his chin.*

Stevo: Hmm... well the old saying does state that a well coached team with great chemistry can often take down a bunch of more skilled renegades, we'll have to see just how bad this Billy kid really is.

Jamal: He's not THAT bad!

*Before either can say anything else, Jeeves appears in the hallway with a smirk on his face.*

Jeeves: I present... master Billy!

*Stevo's jaw nearly hits the floor as an extremely nerdy eight year old boy enters the scene. He has a flanel shirt with a pocket protector and is wearing a pair of brown denim pants. Jamal rushes over to his friend and holds up his hand for a high five, Billy looks at it for about four seconds before extending his hand very passivly. The two connect with a high five, but then Billy withdraws his hand.*

Billy: OW!

Jamal: Dad, this is Billy!

Stevo: Oh... um... hi?

Billy: Hello sir... my mom says that I'm supposed to give you this in case my allergies act up.

*Billy walks over to the Psyko One and hands him a note.*

Stevo: Doctor's numbers?

Billy: Well, I'm allergic to grass...

Stevo: Allergic to grass?

Jamal: It's okay!

Billy: Yea, it's okay, I just can't let the grass touch my skin, that's all.

*Stevo looks down at Billy in disbelief.*

Stevo: But... we... play... on the grass...

Jamal: It'll be okay dad, TRUST ME!

Stevo: O-okay? You guys go ahead and run off to the car... er... walk off to the car, I don't want Billy's allergies acting up.

*Jamal sprints off down the hallway and Billy sprints about five steps before stopping, completely out of breath. He takes a puff of his inhaler and starts to sprint again, but once again takes the inhaler out as Stevo looks on with continued disbelief. Jeeves walks up to Stevo and places his hand on his shoulder.*

Jeeves: Master Billy seems like a nice young man, doesn't he?

Stevo: He's... he's a nerd.... my son is befriending nerds...

Jeeves: Oh come on, I rather admired Billy's pocker protector.

*Jeeves smirks and Stevo snaps him a look before pushing him out of the scene. He then looks directly at the camera, almost as if he is going to throw up.*

Stevo: This.... is going to be a very... LONG season....

*The cameras fade to black as Psyko Stevo stumbles forward a few steps towards the doorway, out to his car and to Jamal's very first soccer practice with his new team.*
