![]() JD James sat behind his newly acquired mahogany desk tapping his hands. God, it was good to have an actual office again, and now he could afford it since acquiring two new clients in the form of Gunner Lang and Chris Bond. And both of them were going into the sVo’s sixth pay per view, Destiny. Things were good. JD knew that it was destiny to be involved in wrestling in some way or another. JD leaned over behind the desk and came back up a small box and placed it on the desk in front of him. From out of the box he pulled out a telephone, a shiny golden nameplate that he placed at the front of the desk, and a laptop computer. JD rolled over and plugged in the telephone and discarded the box at the same time. That would do until he got the computer and the rest of the furnishings in here. Pleased with his progress JD leaned back in his oversized chair and stared at the phone as he kicked his feet up onto the desk. [ JD James ] “Wha … wha …” James just about fell out of the chair when he was startled awake by the ringing phone. He stared at the phone in disbelief. [ JD James ] “My first phone call!” He cleared his throat and picked up the phone. [ JD James ] “James Management Incorporated, JD James speaking.” The screen splits and shows Candy cross on the other end of the phone line. ![]() [Candi Cross ] “JD, Candi Cross here from the sVo. I was supposed to have an interview with your client Gunner Lang. I was wondering if you knew his whereabouts.” [ JD James ] “Oh shit …” On the other side of the split screen JD muttered under his breath as he pounded away on the keyboard of his laptop. [ JD James ] “… that was today wasn’t it?” Candi rolls her eyes as she began to file her nails. [Candi Cross ] “Umm hmmm.” [ JD James ] “Listen Candi that was my fault … getting set up in the new office and all. Let me get a hold of Gunner, and then I’ll get right back to you ok?”[/b [Candi Cross ] “That’s fine JD, but it does have to be done today if it’s going to be included in tomorrows web updates.” [ JD James ] “I’ll get right back to you Candi, talk to you soon.” The screen returns to normal as JD hangs the phone up, and he started pounding away on the laptops keyboard again. ![]() [ JD James ] “Crap … Crap … I hope his number is in here, I don’t have my rolodex.” After several moments a look of relief came over his face and he picked up the phone punching the number in. … … … … [ JD James] “Oh c’mon … pick up.” ![]() The scene fades away. The flame emblazoned Harley Soft tailed Rocker and its passenger sped down the interstate as the yellow lines blurred by until it pulled off to the side of highway. Gunner pulled off his helmet hanging it off the handle. He ran his hand through his hair before he reached into the inside pocket of his leather jacket. Flipping it open he checked the caller ID. [ Gunner Lang ] “Yeah JD.” The screen splits showing JD James sitting in front of his desk and Gunner leaning against his bike on the side of the Interstate with traffic flying by. ![]() [ JD James] “Gunner … where the G D Hell are you? It’s loud.” [ Gunner Lang ] “I’m on the road man, taking a tour.” [ JD James] “ON THE ROAD?. Gunner you got a Pay Per View coming up, what are you doing?” [ Gunner Lang ] “Whoa JD dude … chill. I’ve been training, I’m taking a day to clear the head man. So what’s up?” [ JD James] “Oh yeah. I almost forgot. You were supposed to have an interview with Candi Cross today.” Gunner shakes his head. [ Gunner Lang ] “No can do bucko, like I said I’m on the road.” JD put his elbow on the table and rested his head in his left hand. [ JD James] “You have to Gunner, it’s for tomorrow’s website updates, and you need the exposure especially going into Destiny. Gunner rolled his eyes as the traffic flew by. [ Gunner Lang ] “All right … All right … it’ll have to be a phone interview though. There’s a coffee shop a few minutes up the road. Have her call me back.” Twenty minutes later Gunner is sitting in a greasy spoon that looked like it was stuck in the seventies, right out of the TV show Alice, with a half eaten plate of French fries, and a cup of fresh coffee in front of him as the cell phone on the table begins to vibrate. [ Gunner Lang ] “Bill’s pool hall … shoot.” The screen once again splits showing Candi Cross sitting behind her small desk. ![]() ![]() [Candi Cross ] “Not funny Gunner. Listen we got to get this interview done quick I’ve got the web guy breathing down my neck, he wants the updates for tomorrow so can we just get this interview going.” Gunner smiles as he finished chewing a half eaten fry. [ Gunner Lang ] “Sure thing sweet cakes.” Candi pulled a notepad out of her desk as she prepared to write. [Candi Cross ] “Okay … let’s get this rolling. You’re fairly new to the sVo, two matches under your belt. What first attracted you to the sVo?” [ Gunner Lang ] “Well my music career had just wound down a number of years back and I was hired by a wrestler, I’m not going to drop any names or anything, to write his theme music. I was hooked, I followed this guy’s career and the guy eventually captured gold, and I was like that’s got to be best feeling in the world. In the meantime I had travelled the world seen a few things. Then when I finally hit the ground back in the States I decided to give wrestling a whirl. Spent some time training and touring smaller circuits. Then one day I got a call from JD James, and from there I’m still working on it. Next question.” [Candi Cross ] “Like I said earlier you’re fairly new. Two matches under your belt, a win and a loss, and you’re already going into a PPV and challenging for the Las Vegas. What are your thoughts on this, and what do you think your chances are against Equinox, the current Las Vegas Champion?” [ Gunner Lang ] “Ohhh getting to the hard hitting questions already, now that’s good journalism. Honestly about going into the Pay Per View after a belt already I gotta say I guess upper management knows when they have a good thing, oh and a super good manager. I think JD is possibly one of the best managers out there. I mean look at the number of title shots that he got Johnny All-Star before he decided to hang up the boots. Now as for my chances against Equinox, right now I’d say they’re pretty even. Joseph is a new champion, I guess we’ll have to wait and see how bad he wants to hold onto the strap.” [Candi Cross ] “What do you see as your biggest achievement in wrestling to date?” [ Gunner Lang ] “I would have to say getting my first win in the sVo last week. Ha Ha. And actually making it into Destiny.” [Candi Cross ] “You’re on the roster with some pretty big names in the wrestling business, Psyko Stevo, Chris Bond, Cody Williams, Howie Bands, and Kerry Milano to name a few. Who do you see as your biggest rival?” [ Gunner Lang ] “Biggest rival … I guess we’ll have to wait till I get a couple of more matches under my belt before I answer that. ” [Candi Cross ] “Fair enough. One final question. If you could say one thing to the sVo fans what would it be?” [ Gunner Lang ] “What would I say? I’d say stay tuned, The Gunner is here to stay. And be prepared for one wild ride. Watch out or you’ll be Gunner Struck.” Candi dotted her last period before speaking again. [Candi Cross ] “Okay that’s it for now. Thanks for your time. I gotta get this off to the web guy now. We’ll talk later.” Gunner looked at the bill just dropped on his table, dropped a fifty leaving a healthy tip before speaking again. [ Gunner Lang ] “No problem Candi, thanks for the interview and we will talk again.” Candi’s side of the split screen fades as Gunner gets up walking out of the restaurant. The Harley Rocker sped out of the diner’s parking lot in a cloud of dust.
