Alex Ross
The Perfect 10

The scene opens in front of a condominium complex. The time is approximately 3:00 pm, based on the sun light of the shot. The weather is clear and birds are chirping a most glorious tune. The day could not be more perfect as far as weather, but situationally, it has its complications. With Alex Ross's controversial advertisement of the new Psyko Stevo doll, the media has been in an uproar and a lot of attention has gone in Alex Ross's direction.

In front of this condo pulls a hunter green Porsche 911GT. It parks and out from the driver's seat door comes Alex Ross on a cellphone. He is wearing a navy blue suit with a white dress shirt underneath, accompanied by a matching white and navy striped tie. He slams the door behind him and makes his way over to the sidewalk, we he stands. He keeps talking on the phone and the conversation audibly fades in to viewers.

Alex: No, you see, that's not how this works, Tom. When something like this gets out of hand, we have do practice damage control. The media is going crazy over this whole thing and yeah, the attention is going to be great for exposure, but we can't let this follow me around as far as reputation. I'm not an honest man, Tom, but I'm sure as hell better than I am being made out to be. This stunt was a bad idea and I have you to blame.

Tom: Alex, come on, man... You can't pin this all on me.

Alex: Can't pin this on you, Tom? Screw you, okay? Even if this whole thing wasn't your idea, it is your job, as my agent, to make sure I don't do stupid shit like this. Do you have any idea what is going on here? Do you have any idea how much shit I could be in?

Tom: Alex, relax. I've already talked to Moretti and everything is going to be taken care of. The FCC has decided not to charge the SVO, so you're in the clear, no penalty. The only thing is that you sort of have to lay low for a little while.

Alex: Tom, Tom, Tom... I can't lay low! I have a title match against Psyko Stevo TOMORROW NIGHT and you want me to lay low? This is my time to put myself out there. I'm being noticed, and we may aswell take advantage of the attention. I just need to find a way to reverse the image being projected on me. I need to find a way to make the media look like shit while showing people that as terrible a person I may be day-to-day, that there is some sort of value to me as an athlete. When I take that title from Stevo, then we can talk about doing PSA's or Sesame Street or whatever.

Tom: Alex, I know you're passionate about this shot, but there will be others. I suggest you give Moretti a buzz and tell him you can't make it. The match can be rescheduled for a later date and the SVO is going to have to wait for their new rising superstar.

Alex: No, Tom. The show will go on tomorrow, and that show will feature Alex Ross in the main event, in his second match in the SVO. I didn't get in this position because the booking staff drew names from a hat here. I am being given a chance early on and you are not going to hold me back from that. You have no right. You are not the executive decision, I have you to make suggestions. So suggestion-man, I think that maybe you should be coming up with another plan, because this idea of yours is not up to par with what you are being paid for.

Tom: Up to par? Come on, Alex. We can come up with something else, it's not a problem, but if you're going to be putting yourself out in the open for fire, you're going to need a response for everything that can be thrown at you... but I think I have a good solution, now that I think about it.

Alex: ... And?

Tom: Psyko Stevo has a very clean-cut look. You obviously have a very rough, sort of no-good impression on people, but we're going to take advantage of it. What you need to do now is apologize to the media.

Alex: Tom?

Tom: I know it seems very out of character for you, but it's going to work. Once you've apologized, we can make it clear that you simply realize that what you did was inappropriate for the medium in which you've displayed such content. Next, is when you reveal your new website, one that I can have started as soon as we get off the phone, where we can regularly post new material of any content... Where Alex Ross rules what can be shown and what can't. You responsibly limit your behavior for airtime, but Alex, this website could lead to so much more publicity. We can win over the internet community. Alex, this is even better than I thought.

Alex: Okay, I admit, that's not really a bad idea... But how am I going to answer these questions that everyone's asking?

Tom: There is one answer that can be applied to any question anyone can ask you, Mr. Ross. Simply say, I don't remember.

Alex: You can't be serious.

Tom: It worked for Ronald Regan.

Alex: So if someone asks me what made me do it, why I thought it would be appropriate, anything... I just say that I don't remember?

Tom: Exactly. How can they prove that you do remember?

Alex: Well, you have a point. It's not a really strong point, but it's partially valid, so it'll do. What's the worst that could happen?

Tom: Welllll, see there is one concern that I do have about it... There is some possibility... Just a very small chance, that you could be then accused of drug or alcohol abuse, you know, something that might cause one to... not remember things. But Alex, you're a man of chances, this shouldn't be a problem for you.

Alex: Not a problem? You're right, Tom. I'm from Vegas, small chances, well I guess anything is worth a small gamble, right, Tom? NO. This is nothing worth taking any chance on. God, Tom, what the hell am I supposed to do here? You want me to make a fool of myself? Do you think people won't see past this stuff. I'll make a formal apology to the community, whatever, next week, after I take the title from Psyko Stevo. I have to be concentrating on that match here. The public can wait for their apology, we all know I won't mean it anyway.

Tom: I really don't think this should wait.

Alex: And I don't really think you're on my side right now, Tom. Do you want me to put all of my energy into clearing my name with the public? My match tomorrow night can speak for itself, so long that you allow me to do what has to be done without any problems. If I can take the win in that match, we are set. Not only will I have the International Title, but even better, I would be taking it from an undefeated man. I could be the end to that winning streak. This will put me at the top of the roster immediately. Now are you with me, or are you with Stevo?

Tom: You're the man, Alex.

Alex: That's what I like to hear, Tom.

Tom: I'm paid to say it.

Alex: Yes, yes you are... But I'm sure you'd say it either way. That's what kind of guy you are, Tom. You are a swell guy who knows what is right. Who knows that I am a gift from God. Who knows who the winning team is... And you make yourself a part of that team. There is nothing wrong with that. Alright, well I have to get inside, I've got things to do for tomorrow, other calls to make. This main event is going to be big, bigger than expected. You'll see.

Tom: I don't want to know about it. I know you have something up your sleeve, Alex. I'd really just be ignorant to it so at least I can feel like an honest person. Alright, I'll talk to you tomorrow night.

Alex: Okay, talk to you then. Bye.

Alex closes his phone and stuffs it into his pocket. He scratches his chin and sort of smiles for just a second, as he locks his car door with the press of a button on his keys. He puts the keys in the same pocket as the cellphone and makes his way inside of the condominium. As the door closes behind him, we fade to black.
