*As the cameras come into focus we are taken to the very familiar setting of the living room of the Psyko One himself, Psyko Stevo. The plasma television is turned on and we see the latest promo from Brock Alyas playing. The promo eventually comes to an end and the television is shut off and there is nothing but silence in the room. Suddenly, a small boy's head can be seen appearing from the couch and up rises the adopted African American son of Psyko Stevo, Jamal. Jamal starts to giggle as he scurries out of the room. After Jamal leaves the room there is a pause for about five seconds. Suddenly the figure of Psyko Stevo can be seen in the corner of the screen. Stevo walks into the middle of the room and takes a seat before turning on the television and clicking around the channels before settling on an afternoon edition of Sportscenter. Stevo pays very little attention to the television as he lays around casually on the couch and speaks to himself.* Stevo: Ah... what a nice lazy Wednesday... perfect day to just relax, take a deep breath and forget about all things work related. *Stevo's laziness is immediately interrupted as "Remember" by Disturbed can be heard. Stevo reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cell phone, putting it up to his ear.* Stevo: Huh? What's up Jeeves! Yea, I got your note... look, take as much time as you need visiting your niece. No really, it's okay. You've earned some vacation buddy, just do make sure that you are back here by Sunday morning though. You know that I don't trust Jamal with anyone aside from you and I can't take him out of classes to see me wrestle in Las Vegas. *Stevo stops talking, the smile still on his face. The smile fades a bit though as he hears Jeeves' next words.* Stevo: What? Brock Alyas already cut his first promo? No, nah I haven't had a chance to catch it yet. He seem focused? Look, I've dealt with focused before, remember what I did to Shawn Storm all those years ago? Look, don't worry about it Jeeves... I've got it all under control! *The two banter back and forth for about two more minutes and Stevo finally says goodbye and presses the EnD button on the phone.* Stevo: Hmm... I suppose I better consult with Chazz about this Brock Alyas fellow. I'll just go ahead and take Jamal with me to Chazz's office. *Stevo rises from the couch and enters the other room where he sees Jamal playing with some action figures. Stevo thinks about speaking, but instead just watches from the distance as we hear Jamal talking out loud.* Jamal: Grrr, get back here. I'm gonna get you! *Stevo continues to smile as Jamal continues to fight with the action figures.* Jamal: Now I got you... are you ready to be skull fucked, you fucker! *Stevo's jaw drops as Jamal starts to violently hit one of the action figures with the other. Stevo finally breaks his silence and walks up next to Jamal.* Stevo: Hey Jamal... Jamal: Hey dad! *Jamal puts the action figures down and gives his father a hug.* Stevo: Say... where did you learn those words that you were just saying? Jamal: What words? Stevo: Well, the words that you just had the He-Man figure say to the Skeletor figure. Jamal: Oh, I had He-Man tell Skeletor that he was going to skull fuck him! *Stevo's eyebrow raises up as he looks down at the eight year old boy with curiosity.* Stevo: Where did you learn those words? Do you know what those words mean? *Jamal looks up at his father and shrugs his shoulders.* Stevo: Was it Chazz? Did you hear Chazz say those words? *Jamal once again shrugs his shoulders before he speaks.* Jamal: I heard them on TV a minute ago, they sounded cool. *Stevo scratches his head, trying to figure out how any television network would have allowed the words "skull fucker" to appear unedited.* Stevo: Do you mind coming back over to the television and showing me what program you were watching? Jamal: Am I in trouble? Stevo: No, no you're not in trouble. Jamal: Okay, I'll show you... *Jamal leads Stevo back to the living room and Stevo watches with interest as Jamal turns on the television and starts to delve into the Tivo'ed shows. Stevo looks on with suprise as Jamal scans through all of the programming before stopping on a program marked "Brock Alyas: 1". Stevo curses very softly under his breath and he realizes the source for his sons pottied mouth lies in his own profession.* Stevo: Jamal, I didn't know that you knew how to work the remote... Jamal: Chazz taught me a couple days ago. Stevo: Amazing... well look, come over here, okay? *Jamal does as he is told and Stevo gets down on one knee and looks his son in the eyes.* Stevo: You're not in trouble, but from now on I'm going to have to lock some of the channels on the television. Jamal: But why? What did I do wrong? Stevo: You didn't do anything wrong son. There are a lot of people out there on television who are doing bad things though, wrong things... and I don't want you to see those bad things, so you're not going to be able to watch all the shows from now on, okay? Jamal: Can I still watch SpoungeBob? Stevo: Yes, of course you can still watch SpoungeBob. Jamal: Okay then... *Stevo hits the play button on his remote control and Brock Alyas promo starts to play.* Jamal: Do you want me to leave the room, dad? Stevo: No, no I want you to sit here and watch this with me so that I can explain to you what is wrong and what is good. Jamal: Okay... *Stevo and his son both sit and watch Brock Alyas promo, Stevo looking on with both great concentration and moments of disgust. The promo finally stops playing and Stevo looks at the black screen with disgust as Jamal looks up at his father. There is a period of about ten seconds before Jamal speaks.* Jamal: Dad? Stevo: Listen son, I'm going to try to explain this to you. *Stevo takes a deep breath as he rises from the couch and starts to pace around the room speaking.* Stevo: That man that you saw on the televison is not a good man. He might look cool, he might seem like someone you would want to associate yourself with... but he's a bad man. Jamal: He's bad? Stevo: He's desperate, and desperate people are not people that you can trust. Desperate people are not people that you should associate yourself with. Jamal: Desperate? What does that mean? Stevo: That means that he lacks morals. He would do something he knew was wrong, as long as he thought it would get him what he wanted. Jamal: Oh, but isn't doing things that are wrong... bad? Stevo: Yes, and that is why Brock Alyas will always be a loser. By attaching himself to a low life parasite the likes of Jimmy Moretti, he has already dug his own grave. Jamal: Dug his own grave? What do you mean, I didn't see a shovel in his hands. Stevo: It's a metaphor, an extample, but yes. He sacrified a chance at self redemption in the sport he claims to love for the easy ticket way out. Instead of fighting his way up the ladder and earning an honorable reputation for himself, he took the VIP escalator... and that is why he is bound to fail against me. Jamal: Why though? Stevo: He's going to fail, because while he might understand the crushing effect of loss and the desire to resurrect oneself... he's never realized true success earned through hard work. He's never experienced just how hard it is to go from nothing to something... all his problems that he has caused, are self inflicted. Sure, he had nothing to do with losing his family, but the choices he made after that, made him into the loser he has become. He takes the easy way out in everything he does and that is not a way to live ones life. He mocks me because I don't know my age, that is the easy way out. Had he taken the time to truely research my background he would know my history... an orphan, who lost his parents at a young age, shipped around from foster home to foster home before finally being adopted by a sadistic man who went by the name of Cornelius Robinson. He would understand that my birth records were concealed, he would understand my history if he bothered to get off his lazy butt and research it. Instead he takes the easy way out, he chooses to mock... It's all about the easy way out for Brock Alyas, it's all about the immediate payoff. Jamal, don't you ever live your life that way. True success comes at a very heavy price, that is a lesson that no one ever taught Brock Alyas. Look at me, even though I was dealt a bad hand, I made the most out of it. I choose to keep my faith and to keep working hard, whereas a man like Brock Alyas choose to throw it all away and seek a life of crime and depravity. There are always two paths in front of you, Jamal. Remember to always pick the path which you know is right and you will turn out successful like your dad. You'll become a champion and your opportunities will become limitless. If you choose wrong though, you will become like Brock Alyas... a man who would punch his own mother in the face for a World Title shot, rather then work his way up the ladder and earn that shot. Brock Alyas is limited in his opions because of his narrowmindedness, and that is his greatest downfall. *As Stevo finishes speaking, he realizes that Jamal has gone back to playing with his toys. Jamal looks up and scratches his head.* Jamal: Sorry dad... Stevo: It's okay son, just remember to always do the right thing, okay? Jamal: I will! Stevo: That's my boy. *The cameras fade to black as Stevo and Jamal start to play together with the toys.* |
