Recap From Last Week Last week was Showdown event after the sVo pay-per-view, Redemption. There were some huge match ups which included main event caliber talent squaring off also enemies teaming up. Some newcomers debuted on Showdown as well as a special guest referee sVo Hardcore Championship match. It featured Spring Heeled Jack the current reigning sVo Hardcore Champion against the challenger, Captain D. "Hollywood" Howie Banks was the special guest referee and he was warned by Captain D, to not screw him over and put their differences against him. Unfortunately for Captain D. that's exactly what "Hollywood" Howie Banks attempted to do. At some points in the match up Banks had almost gotten the best of Captain D but he kept on blocking the attempts until the very end when by the help of "Hollywood" Howie Banks the champion, Spring Heeled Jack used a steel chair blatantly passed to by Banks himself, hit a ddt on his opponent, Captain D and got the victory and retained the sVo Hardcore Championship. Recap For This Week This week sVo Showdown will see the greatest wrestler in professional wrestling history, "Hollywood" Howie Banks take on the dirtiest player in the game, the sneakiest and most boring personalities to ever grace the wrestling business. He is the current reigning sVo World Champion and that man's name is ... well it's not important, but if you really want to know, check out the sVo website at www.svo.ewcentral.com but if you really want to know, his name is Mike Polowy. Howie and Mike have never really ever gotten along, nor have they ever really stepped foot in the ring together before. This Sunday on Showdown they get to do that. Lately it seems Mike Polowy has been proven to be a champions champion after defeating all opponents and retaining his championship. However, this week he takes on "Hollywood" Howie Banks in a non title match. The Scene The scene opens up to the home of one, "Hollywood" Howie Banks who has a book open in front of him as he sits on a black leather sofa as he rests his feet up on a brown wooden coffee table. The book is more of a novel sized book with red, black and white colors around it. The outside of it is covered by a somewhat hard cover while the inside pages are printed in a black font with a beige color background too it. The inside pages are soft and light and the front of the book says, "Writer's Block 101" on it. "Hollywood" Howie Banks continues to read away at it as what he is reading says... Origins Of Writer's Block Writer's block can be closely related to depression and anxiety which are two mood disorders that reflect environmentally caused or spontaneous changes in the brain's frontal lobe. This is in contrast to hypergraphia, more closely linked to mania, in which the changes occur primarily in the temporal lobe. These processes, and their implications for treatment, are described in neurologist Alice Flaherty's book The Midnight Disease. However, another interpretation of writer's block, sometimes confused with scant output, is given in the book Silences, by Tillie Olsen, who argues that historically many women and working-class writers have been unable to devote themselves to, or concentrate on, their writing because their social and economic circumstances prevent them from doing so. It is widely thought that writer's block is part of a natural ebb and flow in the creative process. Author Justina Headley explains in keynote speeches that for her it comes from losing touch with the characters about whom she is writing; and that by discovering who they are again, the block disintegrates. Writer's Block Is A Chronic Problem There have been cases where writer's block has lasted for years or decades. The most notable example of this in modern literary history was Henry Roth's writer's block which persisted for sixty years and was caused by a combination of depression, political problems, and an unwillingness to confront past problems. This kind of writer's block seems to be quite rare, and most writer's block lasts for shorter periods or simply a particular sitting. Writer's block has caused problems for writers using the serial form, such as Stephen King's The Green Mile. Strategies For Overcoming Writer's Block Some authorities have recommended the following to those suffering from writer's block: * Scheduling time to write and working, regardless of the quality of the output. * Engaging in brief periods of "freewriting" or "mindwriting," in which people impulsively write whatever comes to mind. * Challenging negative thoughts about one's skill or ability to write. * Using writers' exercises such as "chunking". They use many websites that contain numerous creative writing exercises. Writers read an exercise, and do it. * Taking a break, meditating, or doing relaxation exercises to relieve any pressure on oneself and on the writing. * Doing something out of the ordinary. If writer's block comes from a lack of new ideas, attempts to spark creativity by going somewhere new or doing something different. * Returning to the writing after a lapse of a day or two. * Write a basic plot outline of the story, if having problems keeping the story on the rails. * Brainstorming at the beginning of the writing can help the writer by relating every point to another. * Reading, watching movies or plays, or similar activities that might bring inspiration. * Going out to get some fresh air. The Match After "Hollywood" Howie Banks had read everything from his new writer's block book, he seemed to be very happy about his new born daughter, as well as his up coming match against the current reigning sVo World Champion, Mike Polowy. The two men were apart of some of the biggest companies in professional wrestling history but never once did they cross paths. Showdown is sure to be a very big night in "Hollywood" Howie Banks that if he were to edge off the World Champion, it could mean big things for this fast rising superstar who has already beaten the likes of Captain D, Jason Cash and Nicholas Etch to name a few. Banks closes the book and puts it away in a droor that is attached to the coffee table. He opens it up, places the book inside and closes it. He then sits there on his sofa and looks into the camera that is viewing him. After a few seconds pass by, he breaks the silence by speaking aloud. The camera then pans in closer as Banks begins to speak. "Hollywood" Howie Banks "I could sit here and I could go on and on and on about Mike Polowy and how he is viewed as this legendary wrestler. But really, what person wants to watch me and listen to me talk on and on and on about that? I mean, that's what Mike Polowy does best, isn't it? He just loves to talk and get that chatter box going. You know, me and Polowy are really alike and he doesn't even realize it. He thinks in his mind this is going to be a piece of cake, this is going to be a walk in the park for himself as he goes up against me, Howie Banks. Well I've got news for you, Mikey... This is no walk in the park and you are not Yogy the bear. In fact, this match is going to make or break one of us. Why is that? Well, seeing as how you are the main event around here and I am the money around here, our two different styles but yet same minds that think alike will be going head to head, face to face, nose to nose and toe to toe this Sunday night on Showdown and you my friend don't stand a prayer in hell against Hollywood." He pauses as he begins to sit up on the edge of the black leather sofa. He looks around his room before continuing on some more about his match up. "Hollywood" Howie Banks "You've proven time and time again that when your title belt is on the line, you can step up to the plate and retain it. However, you couldn't do it legally if you tried. Mike Polowy is a fake, he is a fraud and the Sanctioned Violence Organisation needs to realize, especially the management that Mike Polowy as the World Champion equals nothing but garbage wrestling and nothing but a dishonest and no good champion! So this Sunday at Showdown when we step into the ring, Mike Polowy you will learn all about me, Howie Banks. It will be the first time we go one on one in any ring ever and we both know it's going to be raising some ratings, that's for damn sure! Keep in mind that when we are in that match up, you aren't going to win. You can try and try and try until you are blue in the face, Mike Polowy but nothing and I mean nothing will stop me from beating your ass like it should of been years ago in Project Violence. Get set, get ready, get focused, here comes pro wrestling!" With that being said, "Hollywood" Howie Banks winks at the camera and then walks off and out of sight. The scene fades. |
