Ok, so I auditioned for wind ensemble last week. Today the list was posted up on who made it. I did -- 5th chair out of 10. I'm happy 'n all, and a few of my friends made it too. (I'll call them different names to protect their identities) My friend Isabelle is a seat lower than me, and we've been friends for quite some time now. She gave me a black eye one time for waking her up in the bus on the way back from a competition this last marching season. There's also Robert, a trumpet player. Some people see us two as complete opposites. He's big into hard metal stuff, while I'm an "easy listener" person who takes appreciation for most everything. He's struggling with classes, whereas I'm flying through 'em all with ease. I'm Asian, he's Irish. Of course, with the awesome joyness of making it, there has to be people who didn't make it. Sadly, I know a lot more people who didn't make it; which makes me depressed since that's the majority of people who I converse with on a daily basis. First on the list is my friend Kate. She plays the trombone, and had helped tip me off in an earlier event that involved another trombonist (which I'm sure a certain person would remember), along with Keith, who is a seat behind her's. To top that off, that "trombonist" mentioned earlier also didn't make it. Dan, a male flutist, also didn't make it, and I feel as if he should have. We've been friends for a good while, and he even promised me that he'd make ensemble last year. Heck, he wrote it in my yearbook when he signed mine. Along with all this bittersweet drama, there's also some surprises. This freshman alto sax player, Brandon, made ensemble ... first chair. He had beat the junior alto sax player. I sense some tension going on in the next semester in the alto section -- not like there hasn't been before. To those of you curious (*coughChestercough*), I do have a few people I'm crushing on myself. Now that the earlier conflict has been dealt with, and school has been straightened out a bit with an alarmingly tight schedule, I feel as if I can uphold a relationship. How? Why? I'm not sure. Anyway, I guess now that I think about it, I can be titled as "Bisexual". I DO have a crush on both a male and female. I know I'm opening up a big ol' barrage from you Chesters, but I've learned the art of ignoring you, so I'm good with it. Who? I'm not telling. Why? Chester, of course. Anyway, lots of irony has been going on in life, now too. A few years ago, my friend Robert (mentioned a few paragraphs above) and I were drinking some italian soda at a Italian restaurant in town. We were joking around since it was nearing the last days of middle school. We were going to be freshies next year, and we knew things were going to change. That being said, we decided to "predict" the future of our friends and ourselves. We thought that Isabelle (also, mentioned above) would go out with some perverted guy and get pregnant; well, she's going out with one of the most perverted people in the school. We're scared for her. Robert thought it'd be funny to predict something about me, and said I'd turn gay because of the locker rooms and stuff. Well, I'm not full-out "gay", nor was it due to the locker rooms, but that prediction was soo close, and turned out half true. Our last prediction was that we'd turn out to be really awesome in band -- which we're getting to. Irony has played its role in more than just this. In English, we're reading Shakespeare's, "Macbeth." To any of you who have read it before, or know what happens, think about to the Three Witches' predictions. Three predictions, two coming true (for the most part). See the resemblance? I'm not one to believe in superstition, but it's a good idea to watch out. Hmm, odd. I know I had a lot more to say, but as soon as I got a chance to read Chesters' IMs, I totally forgot what I was going to say afterwards. Ah well, I'll think of more later. |

._____. um.... oh nevermind. Regardless, congrats on making it to WE again. I'm surprised that a Fresh' was able to get into it, but our school's band system doesn't work that way, so I supposed it only seems strange because it's [impossible] to get into WE as a freshie over here. I guess you'll just have to hope for your friends to get into WE next year or semester. (or whenever you re-audition, dunno how your system works) I'm not going to comment on anything else. .___.; |

I enjoy your guys' jealousy towards my life ... though it pains me to live it. People enjoy my suffering, and since I am a performer, I must pain my way. ;A; |

To live successfully you must go through an equal amount of suffering. If you keep that in mind, you'll turn out more optimistic and would probably WANT to suffer. Hope you'll have great success due to your suffering someday^^ |
