To start, this is the best movie based off of the Marvel universe ever made to this date. It was simply fantastic. It definately wasn't perfect, but it surpassed the movies based off of all the characters in it, fantastic. Story - The story wasn't overly convoluded, and I was fine with that, tons of kids are going to this movie, it was a smart move. Basically, The Cube that has been at the center of this story arc of movies has been stolen by Loki, who is working for an unknown entity to take over Earth, and in return, this person would get the rest of the universe. The characters are amazingly fleshed out, it was hilarious, I laughed a lot in this movie, I didn't see many of the funny moments coming, and it didn't hurt the film. The battle scenes were breathtaking, they took their time with all of it. Great simple story that paid off. Characters - This is where I was mostly worried going in, there were a lot of characters to get dedicated to, but there's no one better at handling a lot of characters and dialogue than Joss Wheden. Each and every character got their due, The Black Widow played a big part, Fury played a big part, even Coulson played a big part. They took small characters and made us feel for them. And of course the Avengers team was excellent. Each got equal rights and the way they fought and the way they spoke and acted was so loyal to the comics, it was amazingly done. However, I do have a problem character-wise. And that is th evillain, Loki. Now, I liked this guy in Thor, and he was great in this, he had some kick ass battle sequences and was badass in the movie. My problem with Loki, is that he is a pawn. You find this out in the opening sequence of the movie, it is revealed (Post credits) that Thanos, the probable villain for Avengers 2, was pulling his strings. They should've at least made us think he was working for himself a little while before that reveal. Also, the Chintuari, the army of aliens used by Loki, were extremely generic, I never thought one of them would off a Avenger, they were kicking their asses rather convincingly. Loki's reason was whiny too. I still liked him in this, I just always had in my mind he was secondary to the real threat. Effects - Holy shit, the effects were great in this. I saw it in 3D, and it was worth it, the 3D was pretty good. Im still not completely sold on it, but it was good nonetheless. Id say a good 35% of this movie is fighting, and every battle scene was just breathtaking, so loyal to the characters being portrayed. It wasn't the best effects Id ever seen, and there is a cheesyness to the movie, that is charming and I love it, but it is not Dark Knight quality effects wise, and thats fine. I liked this equally to the Dark Knight for completely different reasons. Last note, if you at least know some basics of the comics, this movie will make sense to you. Like why Hulk couldnt lift Thor's hammer, or how Loki controlled people, etc. Overall, I love this movie, I'll definately be seeing this a second time, just fantastic. You need to see this movie. Not jsut if you're a comic fan, you just need to see this movie. The only real things holding it back is a slight misuse of the villain, and another thing, Hulk just pops in and suddenly can control his powers, in a really stupid reasoning. But whatever, maybe Hulk 2 will explain that better. I give this movie a 9.5/10. See the movie if you haven't. Let me know what you guys think below, Id love to hear thoughts or feedback. |

The hulk thing was touched upon in the incredible hulk...which was hulk 2. They have outright stated that they are not planning on making any more hulk movies |

No, they're planning on going into production soon, its in the works with Iron man 3, Thor 2, and Cap 2. And technically, yeah, Incredible Hulk was Hulk 2, but really, who cares about the shitty first Hulk, IH really didnt reference it that much and it had an entirely new view. I dont consider the first one canon with this string of movies.

I'd really like to see your proof with this. Marvel has outright confirmed that the hulk won't be getting a new movie anytime soon. I can actually go get the link if you want |

http://movies.ign.com/articles/122/1223009p1.html They have no current plans for the hulk character outside of the avengers movies. As avengers 2 is already confirmed it won't be hard to fill their 6 movie contract with mark ruffalo. HELL they didn't even fill the contract in entirety with clark gregg |

Looks legit to me, sucks though, Hulk was hands down the most pleasant surprise about this movie. Iron Mans still my favorite out of this bunch though. |

I thought hulk was really good in this movie as well. I have never liked the hulk character up until this movie. Thought he was great. Hulk was my second favorite only falling to thor because well i still got that fangirl crush on chris hemsworth. |

The best scene comedy wise was definately when Hulk was throwing Loki around like nothing, no one in the theater I was in could really contain themselves with that. As long as Hulk remains for th enext Avengers movie, thats fine. |

That and when Loki was screaming at The Hulk "I am a God..." And Hulk just picks him up and shakes him around like a ragdoll implanting him into the ground. The look on Loki's face was priceless. So was the punchline.....'Puny God.' |

The part where Hulk pwned Loki was easily the funniest part in the movie. Another funny moment in the movie was Thor: He's my brother. Black Widow: He killed 80 people in 2 days. Thor: He's adopted. |

The whole movie was just funny, it was great. There was also when Widow was kicking ass and Coulson just nodded on the phone, that was a good start. |

It goes to show that Black Widow is no chick to mess with. A girl who can use her environment as a weapon... That is freaking awesome. |

I just got back from seeing Avengers and it is, without any doubt, the best superhero movie I have ever seen in my life. Pretty much everything about this movie was done right. I can't wait for Avengers 2 to come out. |
