Well, I'm going to give a 'sorta' final saying for myself in this matter.

When I want answers, I will look within myself. Not in any book, because I know I wont find the answers meant for me in there, even though they may appear so. If I find religion and belief within me, then that's because I believe, not because of what a book has told me.

(please note, I'm not reffering to just the Bible, it could also be the Koran or maybe even Harry Potter for all I care)

I hate to rain on your parade, Black, but I can't 'look in myself' to find the answers to, say, a history test. I'd have to study, I dunno, a book. I'm not sure how you figure this stuff out 'within you'...I'd be interested if you'd explain.

Saj, the idea that the disciples were just trying to make money is laughable. You think of today's life in American and similar places where Bibles can make money, however, in many countries around the world Christians are target for torture and murder. And back in the disciples' time, they lived in such a place. All but one disciples (I'm pretty sure that's the number) were killed for their faith, some tortured. They didn't make money selling Bibles in the marketplaces, and they couldn't have known that money was to be made for a book 2000 years later. The reason they stuck to their stories was that their stories were true.

All this is the bible valid?- discussion could be summed up to one point:
Is the love-letter your mum wrote your dad back in 1981 still valid? Given that they are still married. You may say yes or you may saw no. Now some advertisement:
Believe in God, and you will be saved!
This is how you think of the prophets? God isn't blackmailing is, nor were they, and Yows argument is right. I wouldn't stick to something if it put my life in danger, unless it was utterly important for many people. You could say they were brainwashed, but there were no washing machines by then so owned.
I talk this way because I have already understood that you don't take these themes serious, as many of you are atheists and "are in an easy position"
Seriously,
