I wish there was no discrimination (seriously), but it won't happen, just like real communism (which i don't wish would happen), because we're humans and dumb idiots
Unfortunately, people will always discriminate. Equality is an ideal concept and nothing more.

My personal opinion is that Gay/Lesbian people should have the same rights as everyone else regardless of their sexual orientation. There are 29 states that can still fire people for being openly gay/lesbian and very few states allow Gay marriage, if any... I'm not sure.

I have no problem with other people being gay or lesbian...

A couple do, but it's an insignificant amount (like I think around 5).

Eddie is right; there will never be equality. What annoys me is that they want to get married by the CHURCH. I see no problem with gays walking around kissing to be honest, more chicks for me ;)

Lo siento. Yo no sabía lo que dijiste. Estoy aprendiendo español pero no sé todas las palabras. Yo sé la palabra es de portugués, pero portugués usa muchas palabras de español. Son similares. See, I can speak in languages that have nothing to do with what we're talking about too (you will probably be able to understand Spanish anyway).

Regardless, I would hardly be surprised if you were, but what was the point of saying that anyway?

You would "hardly" be surprised if I were? You keep forgetting that the gay count isn't rising, it's the "Hey I admit that I'm gay"-count that is. And, seriously, nobody I know well is gay.

The amount of homosexual individuals rise proportionally with the total human population.

I know quite a few gays, both girls and guys. That is probably why I have a more relaxed view on homosexuality than you, who knows no gays. I know no black people. Well, to be honest, I don't know anybody that is not 100% aryan. Welcome to Norway.

Anyway, of course I have my thoughts about black people. Not all of them are positive. That is because I don't know anyone, so I understand you David, I really do.

You seriously think people lie about being gay? Why would they do that? Seriously, in case you don't know, it isn't too nice of a world out there for them (read: hate crimes).

And it's been proven that the strongest opponents of gay rights are truly gay (google it).

As Eirik pointed out, it is. And if you know over 10-20 people, one is likely to be gay. Maybe if you showed acceptance they wouldn't feel the need to hide it from you.

I'm certainly not the strongest opponent of gay people. If I found out my friend was gay, what would I do? What COULD I do?
Eirik is right. But all of you pity too much. As I said 1.000.000 already, we have some sort of "rehab" centers for retarded people. Why not for gay people? Because they're not retarded? Is it a mental illness? And the whole argument begins again....

First of all, if you found out that your friend was gay - why should you DO anything? He or she just fall in love with individuals of the same sex. It's nothing special and you don't have to DO anything about it. If I told you I like cheese better than ham, do feel that you have to DO anything?

Second of all, I hope you are joking about the whole "center for gay people" thing, because that is the lamest thing I have ever heard.

My general opinion is that people put too much emphasis on sexual orientation. I don't see why it is such a big deal. I can't see why gays want to parade and stuff to show that they are gay. It is not that I have anything against it, I just don't see the point. I don't parade to show that I'm hetherosexual...

Dude, what is your problem?? WHY can you not accept that people are born gay?

Okay, let's say you're born straight Master. Why don't we send you to a little camp so we can turn you gay? Can you see what this might not work? Maybe it's because sexual orientation cannot be changed...huh...

And facilitates for retarded people are to help them live life and learn life skills so they can live with their mental disability, not to cure them of their disability! Maybe the same logic should apply for gay "rehabs." Instead of trying to make gays straight, maybe people should teach them how to live a happy life with their sexual orientation. With the abnormally high suicide rates of gay teens, that might just make sense...

Being gay can't be changed , being born blind can't be changed (at the moment). Seriously our country has wasted hours of discussion about this shitty topic nobody really gives a shit about just to avoid the pending crisis...

Actually, there are ways to cure blindness. But I'm not going to be a smart ass and will accept your point anyway.

And what is this pending crisis? I don't really know what you're talking about. Granted, the world is kind of bad right now, but crisis bad?

See that's the funny thing (off-topic): Everybody talks about the global economic crisis, but in fact it's *only* affecting the countries themselves and not the people living in them. Europe is losing billions of euros and lending them to countries in need like Portugal and Greece.
Fun Fact: Portugal has many, many, many debts but is still forced by Europe to lend money to Greece (retarded much?).
I don't know about English but in Portuguese the word "crise" describes a situation that's so bad it's (almost) out of control (in this case). So, yeah, money problems.

To stay on topic (because every debate ends up in religion or politics) I quote a modified wisdom from the almighty Barney Stinson I stumbled upon a few hours ago:

"Whenever I'm gay I stop being gay and be awesome instead"

Uhh interesting quote.

But you're right. The EU is screwed. Spain is going to be the next Greece. The EU will NOT be able to save every single country that's going down. The welfare programs in EU countries are great for people living there (I wish America had more programs like France), but they aren't free. The EU is going to go bankrupt and the euro will die if they keep trying to save all of these countries. France already wants the Franc back. Why do you think Britain keeps the pound? And with the Lisbon Treaty, every one of these countries could go down with it.

Countries like Switzerland who stayed out of the political side of the EU are the smartest countries out there. The EU is overextending itself, and that will be its fatal flaw. The Lisbon Treaty allows the EU to create a military and essentially have total control of European nations (and the UK). If I lived in any of them I would be unbelievably pissed. The EU essentially takes away their sovereignty and many of their freedoms.

Unless the EU changes its ways (which doesn't seem like it's going to happen), it will die in <30 years.

Norway has enough funds to get all of Europe back on it's feet, but the Norwegian goverment decided that the other countries doesn't have good enough income to ever pay us back :P.

I don't know why you refer to the economic problems as such a big deal. Maybe it's worse for poor countries like Portugal, but Norway has barely been affected by it.

Good for Norway. They were smart and only got involved in the economic side of the EU. The political side is responsible for saving failing nations (Spain, Greece, etc) and will ultimately bring all the others down with it (UK, Germany, France, etc).
