Wow I clicked the link and read the whole thing before I realised you'd just put that little snippet underneath. :P Intersting stuff nonetheless. |

I read it, it says the same as any other (good) site about the LHC, but I am 100% sure they are not telling the whole thing. If the world knew any greater danger then they wouldn't let the LHC work, even if the danger is extremely unlikely to happen. I know scientists and when people say they are "crazy" then they are right. They want to do something really bad, no matter if lives are in stake (yes, I know more than one scientis, I was in the university of Leipzig in Germany (where the games convention was) and met a lot of people there) |

Master there wouldn't be as many stories on it. O_o People ave actually BEEn to this place to report on it. They wouldn't just report on a random story they heard from someone. |

I'm sorry Masters, I just think the 'they filmed it in a studio' claim, like the one made with the moonlanding isn't going to hold up. Several film crews have been there to record the construction of the LHC. So far, I've seen 3 different documentaries about the construction of the LHC. And please explain the 'manipulated' part.
It's actually quite rare to find mistakes on Wikipedia. But because my mum is a teacher media&culture, I usually use wikipedia as a reference, and not as a source. I look things up there, and google those parts. Wikpedia is very useful, especially if you need some fast info that doesn't need to be 100% accurate :P . Note:most articles in the English Wikipedia are more accurate than the enclyclopedia Britannica (empiric research). |

Wikipedia isn't always accurate, but has a ton of info that is extremely easy to find. It's hard not to use it. Considering they're a partner with google, almost everything you Google, it will be in the first 3 results. Edited by Eddie, Sep 13 2008, 04:31 PM.

Still, it really looks a lot better when 9 out of 10 sources aren't Wikipedia :P . |

true, but I really don't see what is so wrong with google O.o . I mean, why do some very orthodox christians still think the internet is evil? Wth is wrong with it? Are they afraid that it's going to undermine christianity or something :S ? In Medieval times, it was normal for children to only learn from the Bible, because the monks thought normal books were evil and children needed to devote their life to god. No look how learning goes :P . The bible has disappeared out of most school. When you look at history, the future can become easier to predict. Maybe in a few decades, we wont use books at all. |

Compu-books O_o Well I dunno about other Christians that are 'orthodox' but some Christians (i.e. myself) don't see problems iwth Google unless you search for something nasty, OR do something dumb and say something that's really nasty but you don't know it. Like, trying to find a pic of a basketball and searching "balls". Or, as I once did years ago, look for a picture of the stomach for a science project and type in 'body parts' to find it O_o I clicked 'back' outta there FAST. Yeah, for some reason, we have the habit here to always end up discussing some religious item, no matter what the starting topic is :P . Anyway, any interesting news about the LHC? Did we blow up Switzerland already? |

They'll probably keep it all low-key now, now that it has proved that the end of the world didn't happen Wednesday, even though there was no chance of that even happening. |
