I will happily defend my country from people who mean us harm. I am currently in the application process for the USAFA and the AFROTC. (2nd Lt in the Air Force after college) and plan on serving for 20-30 years. |

Meh, most of the time, around 6 trillion cells in our body get along quite nicely and cooperate too. That's a thousandfold of the amount of people on our earth. Don't say it's impossible because of the numbers. Anything is possible with enough organization. However, I don't agree that you should stand and do nothing when your country gets attack. I would love to see that happen, but I just don't think that's going to work out. If everyone else would do the same thing, you would get one wide nation within days, because no country would put up any resistance. Fight back, but don't overdo it. Destroy their military installations, so they can't continue fighting. But then leave. Don't nuke them, and don't try to police them, by staying in their country for a few decades (hint to G.W.B) |

I'm a little confused...you would enjoy watching every country be ripped apart and/or controlled by 1 single country? I'm sure that's not exactly what you meant but... And I can't say I agree with you there, Pad. I don't approve of war just to 'get what you want' and only stop it if it's a 'holy war'. Why not randomly invade Canada, maybe they have some oil which we seem to be low on! I mean, it's necessary, so...sure! Edited by Yowming41, Oct 26 2008, 04:14 PM.

I meant that in real life you might not fight back when you are being hit, which is either a very respectable point of view, or it's very sissy. But when you are talking about politics, it's quite stupid when you don't fight back. When you are fighting someone on the street, the worst thing that could happen is that your teeth get knocked out, or if you live in a rough neighborhood, you get shanked. But if a country doesn't fight back, they lose their country, and there's no way of telling what will happen to your citizens.

Sorry, but I'm even more confused now. "I don't agree that you should stand and do nothing when your country gets attack. I would love to see that happen, but I just don't think that's going to work out." This is what you have said. Only in your last post, you seem to say that we SHOULD fight back? Or are you saying that you think it's practical for a country to fight back, but that (for some reason) you would like to see them not do so? |

That example isn't the greatest, Black. You forgot to mention that these cells all have the same purpose, and that each of the cells are duplicated from another; therefore they are the same; identical. People are not identical. Also, you fail to mention when the body comes under attack from viruses. What does it do? Fights back, and kills the intruder. Or, when in a transplant, the organ type is wrong. Even though it means no harm, it gets rejected. But yeah, your point still remains. Anything is possible with enough organisation. (You spell that with an `s`, not an `z` ;) ) |

(I actually don't know, but I'm American and the 'z' looks more familiar to me. Errr, back on topic. Righto.) |

Short description of my opinion on wars: Wars are easily avoidable and are caused by people with no brains that think they can kill thousands of people just because they can. You can apply that to every war, even the crusades (but there you have to take the last point out) and Iraq war (oil) |
