I also agree with that. It seems some people don't know the difference between a human and an animal though, with the way the act.

Hmm, I'm a lil' late on this...:P

I for the most part don't support war, but it depends on the cause. For example: When Japanese bombers dropped many bombs on Pearl Harbor and killed many people, the cause for America to go to war was basically justified. Hitler thinking that he and his 'race' are better and therefore Jews must die is a stupid reason.

The hitler thing is right but think:

I hit you in school.
You are worse and throw my school bag in a lake
I break your arm.
You shoot me in the leg.
I go in your house and break all the windows and hit your father in the chest.
You bomb my house, then I probs bomb the houses of your whole family for payback (If I was a sick war person).
Then you say "Hey, I only bombed your house and you kill my whole family!" Then we start a stupid and pointless war (ALL wars are pointless) because I hit you in school. When they bombed Peal Harbour, the WORST solution was bombing them, as that made them even more angry.

I think Britain joining in the war on Iraq and Afgahnistan (spelling?) was unnesessary as America have 'the best army in the world', so why would we need to help them. And the thing that has really annoyed me about the wars, is that the americans have killed our soldiers, yet I havent heard of any american soldiers been shot by a british soldier.

Uh, actually, without the US (not to brag or anything) who knows what would have happened in WW2? The US was trying to avoid it but once they were involved in that attack they had no choice, what would they do, stay home and get bombed more? One of the Japanese leaders said after the attack that he feared they had done nothing but awaken America to the war and they(the Japanese) would be crushed. I don't think it just 'made them angry'.

Also about the animal thing: If we are 'animals' why don't we murder each other and eat each other like animals do? Why bother with laws, animals don't have those. We should just do whatever the heck we feel like to each other....right? Sounds like a fun way to live.

The annoying thing about WW2.. is how British and Americans will always argue over it. :P

A: We saved your ass in WW2!
B: You turned up 4 years late!

Y'know, that sort of stuff. :P I just like those 2 lines cause it's quite true. :) (Not sure on the number of years, but it's around that).

Yow is definitely right about the animal part.
But about the Japan part...I don't know if you got me there because I wasn't meaning the Japanese, my example was for violent retaliations in general.

1. Not all animals kill, and most don't kill their own kind. I'd venture a guess that humans kill more animals annually than all the other species combined, let alone any one species.

2. We do kill our own kind; the subject being discussed here is only one of the ways we do so. Some humans do eat other humans as well--and those who don't, don't because of social or health concerns.

3. Animals may not have written laws, but many do have norms of behavior (basic, unwritten "laws") and monkeys have been proven to understand and react to unfair behavior (more about that here).

Humans are delightfully well developed, but there's nothing to indicate that we're fundamentally separate from animal species.

I agree. I think 2 nukes was overkill. One of them would have gotten their attention too.
But don't forget, those bombs were probably the main reason Japan surrendered.

And if you still think that's too violent, what would you have done?

*American walks up to Japanese*, American:"Excuse me sir, could you please stop bombing our harbors? We don't like that."
Japanese:"Or else?"
American:"Then we'll write you an angry letter in which we'll tell you how very angry we are."

I dont think that would've worked.

(for those that don't realise it, that conversation is based on Team America :P ).

Point, but we're kind of getting off topic. I guess the thing is that some people believe in Evolution and some in Creationism and that's another debate.

On with the nature talk!

Animals kill eachother over things like resources and land, why shouldn't we. If you need somthing go for it.

I do dissaprove of holy war, "my god is real your isn't so I'm going to kill you and then rape your wife". In my opinion that is the basics of holy war. It is NOT a natural thing to fight over so it shouldn't be done.

Well, back to topic, it may be easy for you to talk about war but imagine half of your family would be killed in a terrorist attack. Would you rather go crazy and chase the killer with a gun or engage yourself for peace.
That is actually a question that may seem obvious to some of you, but I'd choose the 2nd option. Why don't we live a happy life all together and forget our differences? Because of..tchan tchan...people that want war :O!

I'm not saying war is good I'm only saying there is nothing wrong with fighting for what you need, like food or land; exeptions may be made for "holy land', you can keep it.
