Hi Guys,
New to the forum, so appologies for any over sights here.
I have an original Revolt arcade machine, HDD had crashed on me so been
trying to get this up and running from a fresh install. But dont seem to be getting anywhere
so am looking for a little help please.

Original version was windows 98, new hdd has windowsXP on.
I have searched the forums and read all i could find on the arcade version.
I have Tsunami.ISO
extracted the revolt to c:\games\revolt
extracted Tsunami to c:\tsunami

also downloaded the tsunami lite file.

Run lite.reg x32
run tvtopcon.exe
then run revolt.exe

Nothing happens, check processes, and have tvtopcon.exe 50% and tsinput.exe 50%

Help please ???

I'm not sure how different it'll be with the actual hardware installed, but did you read this: http://archive.re-volt.io/articles/arcade#install-the-game ?

You also have to launch the game with the -launchgame parameter.

Yes read that post.

It appears that the tvtopcon.exe is eating all cpu
original hardware was p4s800mx with 256mb ram. running windows 98
using original board and windowsxp with 512mb ram, cant get game to even boot

I will try using a different pc to see if it will setup.
Original controls are usb interface so not a prob when get to that, but just the prob of getting game to load in first place.

OK Just a quick update on progress.
After a hunt through spares pile.
Got a pc running with xp installed.
Onboard graphics and 2gig Ram.

Installed Revolt as described above, and yes can run without it eating all processor speed.
*like* *like* :D
So next onto the rewire of controls.

Will keep posted on next installment.

I still find strange that moved from win98 to XP and needed to go from 256Meg Ram upto 2gig Ram.
Also need to slim XP down too and get it to autoboot into game. But atleast i have it running.

_I wonder_ if it is possible to make Re-Volt run with compatibility mode in newer Windows versions to resolve the CPU issue?

The other alternative if you won't want to end up using an outdated system is to install WINE on a lightweight Linux distro (Lubuntu, Puppy Linux, TinyCore whatever) and get WINE working in it, and _maybe_ a compositor like Compton or Compiz if you can work that into your custom X session.
