Hi !

I made a post about it but since it's a little burried in the WIP section, I thought I would add this here.

So here it is: http://www.nawakiwi.com/3ds-max-to-re-volt-exporter/

The page is available in both English and French.

I've added a few features since the first release and polished a bit further. Hope you like it !

Also, don't hesitate if you want me to make any tutorial about track creation, as I'm able to record video, it maybe easier for some of you if I go through the entire process of track creation...

I also need to fill the surface properties table on the website, if some of you know the associated skid sound effects used I think it could be useful.

Cya !

Thank you for the kind words !
I made a few updates since the first release, check it out :)

Also, does anyone experience any issue when trying to download ? I had a strange error message and had to go back and retry to be able to download...

Well, I had problems downloading at first... I thought maybe perhaps it was of Opera's 'Opera Turbo' feature which can have bad effect, I tried downloading again after disabling it but worked, hmm?

edit:
Now I have downloaded the new version, there is indeed an error in PHP.

You see, I'm #1 most interested in this 3Ds max plugin, but the thing is that I have the "PFE" (yes, in French), so I can't find the exact free time ...

Thank you for the feedback. I'll work on download error as soon as I can. >_<

Let me hear about any issue if you find some time to use the plugin !

In the meantime, I may do a short video explaining every feature by making a very simple race track. :)
Hopefully it will encourage people making some cool Extreme track !

Hello!
About SG 23: The collision ID is same as the surface flags defined in Re-Volt, right?

Hi Kay,

yes it is. It refers as the "Surface ID" in the Smoothing Groups conversion table. :)

Hello, thanks for the reply!

I've run into a small problem.

Here is the trace:

>> MAXScript Rollout Handler Exception:
-- Runtime error: Map support not enabled for specified map channel: 1 <<
** interrupted **

As for what I've exactly done:
I have made a line, then converted it to "polygons" using edit Poly. And I've added it into a group.

A dialog message pops up and telling me this
Quote:

Map support not enabled for specified map channel: 1
. This happens exactly when exporting the line (and not the group as a whole).

The problem is that it just stops executing the whole script.
After closing the dialog (X) and removing the items from Re-Volt layers, the .W exporter just freezes (after clicking, the only thing I hear is a beep).

So basically, it seems that I have to reopen 3ds max to clear this state.

I hope I provided a whole clear summary. It's so far a great work and I really love it! Keep up the great work :)

Hi Kay,

I can't reproduce the issue. Are you sure you're using the last version of the exporter ?
Try to download it again and reinstall (just drag the new mzp in the viewport and click install).

If the problem still occurs, I'll investigate further :)

Note : you should see the version number at the top of the exporter window...
