Hey all !

So a buddy and I had liked to invent stunts in the stunt arena in revolt back in the day.. We now started playing again and it seems to be as fun as we remembered therefore we thought we'd share our "discoveries" with others that might enjoy this kind of shenanigans therefore we initiated this YouTube channel and we are starting to upload stuff

(we need to find a way to get a better frame rate when recording, so maybe you guys have some pointers..)

Anyway, here is the first vid:

I recommend Fraps (I don't know if I can post links to free versions here, mod, is that okay?)

I've tried quite a few recording software: OBS, ShadowPlay, Dxtory w/3rd party encoder, FRAPS, Camtasia, and most of them had a little stutter with Re-Volt (though enough for 30FPS recordings). It is the game itself which is kinda more difficult to capture than some other tested games for some odd reason.

If you don't plan doing ultramega60fps1080phighquality videos, then FRAPS should do the job just fine. The thing I don't like about is it locks in-game frames, so if you're recording video at 30FPS, then you're gonna play the game at 30FPS.

NVIDIA ShadowPlay was the fastest performance-wise, I couldn't find any other alternative. Only works with GeForce cards, obviously. If you don't have the required hardware, you can now stop reading.
Used it for my last recordings, videos ran smooth as butter: 60FPS @ 1920x1080 res on i7 + GTX960M. I had some framerate issues with Core 2 Quad Q6600 + GTX640 @1680x1050 res hardware, old CPU was probably slowing things down.
The only real cons about it is that you need at least an average NVIDIA card and good enough CPU. Videos are compressed, NOT raw, like FRAPS, so you have decreased quality. Although it doesn't really matter if you're gonna upload to YouTube. MP4 Frame rate is variable, which is a hell for some video editing software to import (not a huge deal for 30FPS videos; you can also convert to constant frame rate with "Handbrake" to avoid this issue). Another problem I had with ShadowPlay recordings was a rare 'click' audio sounds, mostly at the start of the recording.

Posting a Trial version is allowed, but I don't see a point when you can google it and download it from the official site.
Cracked/Full/Illegal/"Free" content is NOT allowed to be posted here.

Really though, Fraps is not expensive, it's easy to use, and it overall just works. Even on my old pc, I could get 60 fps while recording Re-Volt. (But well, I always play on the lowest screen resolution available and overall low quality settings, so if you're playing on a resolution of over 600*800 and are using things like reflections, you might still have problems on some of the tracks with more advanced aesthetics)

Thanks guys for the tips! I actually did use fraps, but with higher settings..
It still tends to drop below 60 even with low resolution and render settings tho, but it's doable..

Here's a new tutorial i just uploaded:
