Iron Bob's Aerials with modified beachball model Information Iron Bob's Aerials is an awesome set of antennas and antenna tips for people who want to further personalize their vehicles. Too bad, then the replacement texture file for this messes with the beachball. With the effort of Gel38 and I however, this has been resolved! In this pack, along with stock copies of each file also exist non-stock copies of the beachball to make using Iron Bob's Aerials a less glitchy affair. Instructions View the readme. This latest change includes both Gel's and my solution which resolves the bug in a couple ways, depending upon what you want to do (now referred to from hereon as "Blockfix" and "Scalefix", respectively.) "Scalefix" is what you'll want even if you don't use Iron Bob's Aerials. This is because scalefix comes with modified beachball model that is entirely compatible with the stock FxPage1.bmp texture. "Blockfix" is what you want if you wish to customize the appearance of the beachball. Stock colors are used in the block where the beachball polls texture information from, but you can change this in an editor like Gimp 2.6 any time you please. If for some reason you pair the blockfix model with the scalefix texture, you'll see a black and clear ball. This obviously isn't desired, and should tell you that you messed, and you should copy the correct model or texture to go with what you've already installed. To revert changes Delete the contents of /cars/misc from a target Re-Volt directory, then from the archive copy all contents of /stock, or copy the following files if you made them available in your installation: /stock/cars/misc /stock/gfx/fxpage1.bmp /stock/models/beachball.m Known bugs / future changes Some maps might not like the new beachball model from Blockfix. if that happens to be the case copy /models/beachball.m from either /scalefix or /stock into any problem map, creating a /custom folder inside the level if necessary so Re-Volt 1.2x loads the custom beachball content. If you use the stock version of the beachball and stock graphics, It will make anything using Iron Bob's Aerials look weird. Alternatively, you could modify the FxPage1.bmp file to use whatever mapping you desire, which would eliminate the need to copy models over, which would most likely be a problem with any map relying on textures in /custom already. This is final. Though, if there are any problems with Gel's "Blockfix", previously known as the "Remap" fix, then leave a message! I'll push a fixed release if I need to modify Gel's fix. |

It wasn't final. The latest upload (should) resolve the issue I am calling "Black star", when FxPage1 if layered isn't flatten before saving. It causes a black background to show at the upper left corner of the UI, where stunt arena stars are tracked. Also fixed scalefix to resolve (once more) blue emitters when in use. |
