due to errors in RV 1.2A and in the 1.2A editor, this project has been cancelled. if i can find the time ill rebuild everything with the original 1207 editor.

Fair warning: When using a custom frontend level, or a custom model set (e.g. my various pickup and countdown models), do not copy /levels and /models directly -- Delete /levels/frontend and /models/go3.m to not overwrite any customizations.

The same goes without saying for any other modification of stock content, should such issues present themselves in the future of your installation.


For people curious about who's handling the world fixes, SebR is now working with ThugsRook (to some degree) to collaboratively fix the game up. SebR's thread for world fixes in levels can be found here, at Our ReVolt Pub. Hands off this one, Skarma.

^ yep, thats a very good idea. can a mod merge all 4 milkfix threads?

sorry for posting 1 at a time, but i really dont know how many of these milkfixes there are going to be. still working on more.

Merges tend to be clumsy. Dave recommended a merge on my "How to submit anything" thread that became a sticky but ZR didn't carry through for that very reason.

Best thing to do is either have Marv merge use your fixes into his high-res textures pack on his thread which He colloquially calls "Milkfix Unleashed", or remodel this thread to be the main hub for your fixes, patiently waiting for mods to bin the other threads.

Modified not because of bad English, but because I hate looking like a hypocrite.

Wait, isn't that fixed face supposed to be transparent?

Also how do you fix these things, by repackaging the level files over an external tool (like with jigebrens blender plugin) or the hard way, by hex modifying them (like sebr did in his thread at ORP)?

Speaking of sebr's thread, there are quite a few things that you could add here as well (even though I thought you wanted to merge with his fixes), mostly in Toyworld 1 and Supermarket 2 ;)

believe it or not ~ i havnt actually edited a single level file (check the file dates), only the textures have been edited for repairs. (yes im being cryptic)

Oh nice, that explains why the fix isnt transparent (like it should be). And no its not an illusion, its just that apparently one of the two faces (lower and upper face of the side from the glass cabinet) is assigned wrong, the lower one is solid while the upper one is transparent.

I believe the lower face should be transparent because you are able to see the faces from both sides (as opposed to the other side of the cabinet).

Sry but I'm too lazy to upload a picture now where I could explain it better, if you still don't understand what I mean then perhaps I'll do it tomorrow and edit this post ^_^

(that wall should most likely be glass, not transparent) looks like those display cases were shielded from view as you come around those turns for performance reasons.

Yeah thats what I meant with "transparent". Also I don't think it was for performance reasons, it probably wouldn't even have a noticeable inpact on weak hardware.

Its more likely that they forgot to change it or overlooked it (since the other side of the cabinet is solid and doesn't require to be glass-appearing).

Also if they did that on purpose then surely they would have noticed the missing texture :P

The shadow texture in nhood2 at the red house bugs out. Maybe you ca fix that bit of oddness up next.

The "Crosshatch" portion is where it appears the shadow overlaps. Like, the developers could not make up their minds which shadow was proper.

You could consider milkfixing a small pureblack issue on Toys in the Hood 1, on the metal thingy surrounding the road work area (near the small tunnel towards the end of the lap) there's a small hole in it, which wasn't probably intended and can be fixed eliminating pureblack in that zone...

On ship2 and muse2 do you use blender ? if yes i must redo your work with hexa editing

edit : the red nhood house is realy bugged, it planed to be fixed

In the next release, you could include Jigebren's fixed go3.m model. I supply it in various packs that involve the countdown and pickup models as a stock set, you most likely already have it through the Metals pack.

I finally found someone with UV experience who worked on beachball.m to fix it up for Iron Bob's Aerials. If Gel38 manages to fix the ball to have purely solid colors from fxpage1.bmp instead of the slight gradation that appears on the blue and green sections, I'll PM it to you TR.

I think such a fix would be better included in an update for the Aerial's pack rather than the pack dedicated to fix errors in the stock models.
