Hi Guys,

this is my second Mod compatible with my "HUD Race-Design"

[Description]

HiRes Textures Mod for Re-Volt to get more Detail into.
This Mod is currently in Beta-Mode, but i will be updating this Thread Daily.

Wow.... Just... Wow. I'm amazed, it looks like we have another competent user among us. These are absolutely fantastic! I like that Forza 5 poster.

Well, I've tried it. It makes the frontend lag a little bit but otherwise, it's fine.

Thx, there are some textures for the menu i still must create.

- Basketball Texture 50%
- Some Toytextures
- The Tabletexture was a test so there will be a new one
- The Postercrate and Xboxcrate is in Designphase
- The Carrera-raceway is a little difficult :)

i also want to plant some new Models in the menuroom with 3DS-Max...

Known Bugs:

- The Texture on the Floor doesn't fits in some areas... :(

Amazing job, the new font looks good too, I like everything of this so far.

Kinda less about the fontend 'track' but other than that, it's great. Well, you know, some junction don't look right but we all know this is purely a beta.

You mean when the Game starts loading?

The New Re-Volt Logo should appear in LoadingScreen AND appears in the InGame Menu :)

When it's done i upload it with Screenshot :)
(I must resize the Logo and i have to split it up in 3 Files) :)

I must admit, this is jaw-droppingly awesome. I didn't know that some of the in-game files could be bigger, and the game could still scale them.

But I do have an issue with the font -- It's too fine. I found it difficult to quickly glance and read information on the screen without needing to squint, and that could mean the difference between victory and defeat in an intense race.

I might take some time tomorrow to beef up the font and make it easier to see. But nonetheless, it doesn't take away from the efforts of all the other things put into it.

Edit: Which Helvetica? I ask because I was looking at a website that had several variants of Helvetica from different libraries. Wanna get the right one if I am going to tamper.

Also, the speedometer might look a little more compelling if the inactive speedo elements had color, and the active speedo elements displayed some sort of glow, but that's just me personally speaking, and probably moreso because I am use to the LED-like stock speedo.

It is nice to see that you are updating to high res but in your comparison images it seem that you have just removed most of the nice colour from everything and gone with a dull grey? and as for the hi powered sports car on your boxes? i thought re-volt was for non realistic RC cars? i don't get it.
Cartoony, out of scale, totally out there and most of all very fun is how i see Re-Volt, as should you all.
That said, i am glad you are at leased having a go at a hi res update.

im still living :)

FIRST: SRY but the last weeks or the last 2 month i had no time to work on the GraphicMod...

I try to make my mod complete...

I know the Frontend TEST-Level is very grey... i dont know why :)
But no Problem for this - i can modify the color... :)


Finding and/or creating Textures is very difficult because they must fit to the Game(Feeling)

When i saw the comparsions before and after from the GraphicMod there are too many Greytones...

So re-Volt Fans ... please be patient... im still here...

unfortunately i found a bug assiciated with using a HiRes clouds.bmo/bmn.
its not the textures fault, it works fine. the problem is 1.2A.

by using a hires clouds it somewhat forces the entire engine to run in hires, causing standard 256x texture to misallign and cause 'texture seems', or transparent sparkles. these bugs are noticable in West World 2 and Bot Garden.

i even tried using 'clouds' as a custom file in a custom dir, still didnt work right.

oddly enough a hires 'clouds2' works just fine in Rooftops (and other custom nighttime tracks like Melville) so it looks like this bug only effects the regular 'clouds' file.


i need to look into this further.

you could also try to resize the clouds.bmp to 512x512 pixel worked well for me

you got that right. (for the most part) actually clouds and skymaps dont mipmap anyways.

i tried every possible size/combination... but my point is that there is a bug when using a hires 'clouds'. concidering all the other graphic/reflection bugs in 130815 and 130820 im not really surprised by this.

its unfortunate.
