I hope you're allowed to talk aswell here...anyway.

All cars are good and I got stuck in between 2 choices: Burner or Balint.I felt in love with those two but only 1 could receive a vote.

burner94, you get one from me. *like*

I voted for Dave, RV_Passion and Strix.

Dave does a unique and excellent metallist approach in comparison to all the others.
Passion and Strix's ones are also excellent repaints which stay in the boundaries of the RV-styled repaints.

Boy, you guys have made it seriously tough. There are a lot of fine cars on display up there. So first I'd just like to say that you all did a splendid job. I have some serious thinking to do...and while I believe I know which one does the best job in my mind of both fulfilling the requirements of this competiton and stretching one's personal boundaries for excellence...there is enough shiny car goodness up there and so many people put up superb work that I don't want to make any hasty decisions. :D

So how long do we have for the voting?

Lol...I thought we went over that. :D I'm not actually competing, Drapheric...just participating. :)

So I'm a little confused...can we vote for more than one person, then? That would make things a bit easier...

Replying with something for each and every car. Yeah, I like this sort of approach. :)

Balint.
You, sir, are going to be one of the next-gen hi-level repainters. Was still liking the orange one more, but that's it... Liking the hood scoop and the way you perfectly welded the small side stripes on the vertical part (the door) and the horizontal one (the connection part between the side skirt and the door). The colour scheme also kinda fits with RV logos, especially the oldstyle one. Interesting sporty rims.
Definitely gets my vote.

Dave.
As I said before, this is the metalists' favourite... lol. Nah, I'm pretty serious, actually. This is well-made, man. And I like what you did with the forum logo, as well... that borderlining actually fits very cool. Ripped off rims? Who cares, they look great on this!
Gets my vote.

Halo.
Now _that's_ impressive. Didn't think you could store all those details in a mere 256x256 bitmap, really well done, mate. One of the best light designs I've seen overall, as well. If I were you, I'd have made the reddish parts even more 'red', as in 'more saturated'... I know, you did it because the RV logo has that colour in it, but I repeat, it's just a little suggestion...
Definitely gets my vote.

Pranav.
A pretty neat design, I must admit. Cool for somebody whose main occupation isn't repainting. Liking the vinyl on top and the lights' design. Usually I tend not to use rims which are that 'closed', as I don't like them much- I prefer thin spokes and lots of space between them. Apart from the vinyls, the repaint itself is pretty plain, however. Bug-free, and that's actually a great thing, but still a bit plain. Keep it up, and I could consider voting something by you in future. Meanwhile...
Doesn't get my vote.

RV_P.
Another pretty clean 256x256 skin. This time, lights and grills look pretty much like the original ones, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I kinda like this one: nice colour combination, neat rims (even if a bit blurry)... The only thing I don't like about it is, oh well... the RVL logo you decided to use, which in my opinion kind of ruins the whole repaint... I mean, the whole car looks pretty professional, while that logo makes it look too much 'toyish', even for RV standards, I think.
Doesn't get my vote.

Strix.
I didn't originally think about giving you some bad feedback, really. This time, your repaint kind of disappoints me. But wait, I'm not here to tell you that it sucks. It's good, actually. The thing I don't like about it is its 'mess factor', as I tend to call it. With that I mean that the car is completely covered with small stickers and stuff like that, which make the repaint look really confusionary. Trust me, if you removed something like half of them, you would have surely had a vote from me. I like everything about this car, except the stickers.
Doesn't get my vote.

Venom.
Hey, look what we have here. A copcar. Pretty neat work, Venom. Definitely better than anything from you up to now. Okay, there are some minimal mistakes here and there (edgy textures, as on the wheel, and some heavy blurring, especially on the RVL logo...), but both the idea and the realisation itself are quite accurate and pretty original. I mean, almost everybody else made a racecar... Lovely rear lights (for those who didn't notice, they are a ripoff from Clockwork!) and lots of nice details on the front and rear bumper can allow me to say that this...
Gets my vote.

ZR.
I appreciate the level of detail you've put on this one, Zipper. The colours also reflect a lot the main forum theme, and that's good. Liking the rear lights. Lovely shadows around the air intakes. However, I don't really know for which kind of strange reason, but I seem not to like the overall appearance of this car that much. Could be the fact it uses stock (just edited) Toyeca rims, could be due to the fact I don't like its front end much... Whatever...
Doesn't get my vote.

Burner ~
You both impress and inspire, my friend. Fantastic critiques! B)

People are always screaming for feedback about their vehicles, but it seems like all they want to hear is what a great job they did. Now for me, if that's what they did then I will tell them so. Far more helpful though, is when someone like yourself takes the time to thoughtfully craft their opinions into a meaningful description of your perception of their work.

You set a fine example, and it is my personal hope to see more such things both here and in the comment section at RVZT. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, dude! :TU:

Heh, I like to set up my comments this way... you know, I'm tired of being submerged by noobish comments, and I guess you all are. Then this is just my little way to somehow compensate this ;)

I won't say where I placed my votes, but I do have to give a nod to the following person for personal excellence.

Passion...this is a superior piece of work. The only reason I am not saying this looks like professional work is that I don't want you to stop pushing yourself. You are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what you can do, my friend. You recently changed the way you think about your work, didn't you? Within that box I see true passion...as befitting your name. That passion fits you like a crown, my friend...wear it proudly. :)

If you continue in this vein with this level of work, when you say you can make someone a carbox in 'Passion Quality', that is going to mean something...because you chose to make it so. That is something to be genuinely proud of, as is the car you made for this competition. You couldn't touch the parameters, so within the bounds of this competition, that's the complete package.

<> Adheres to the guidelines set out for this particular challenge by using nicely themed and coordinated colors...to favorably represent RVL.

<> Colors, graphics and physical details are cleanly executed. There are additional heights you can attain, but there is nothing poorly executed about what you have done. It's all consistently good...and I like it. :D

<> All elements are thematically appropriate. The 'since 2009' text on the visor perfectly illustrates your grasp of the true purpose behind this competition...to represent and celebrate RVL, not the author of the skin. You get +1,000 bonus points for this alone. B)

<> That carbox is just...sweeeet! You have seriously upped your game, dude. Continue playing with different ways to use text as you have been doing, but what you are doing now is all good, that's for sure. <smiles> I don't know if you are paying better attention to your anti-aliasing options for text or what, but your text has become cleaner with more attention being given to letter spacing and placement. You are beginning to explore different ways to actually use the text as part of the overall graphic representation...and using it to nicely fill the space surrounding and supporting the vehicle it describes.

The angle at which you shot the car and the way you have scaled and placed it on the box show that you are really getting a good grasp of space and form. You are effectively utilizing the available space for the purpose it was intended...to showcase the car in the best way possible. It's all good and I can see from some of your other work that this is no accident. I'm impressed, Passion. Keep up the great work, my friend! :TU: <all the Minions begin jumping and cheering for Passion> :D
