Can anyone give me links where I can download the re-volt demos from acclaim, gamespot, ignpc and cgw?

The second option would be to send it via PM to me. If anyone has one of those.

That would be very nice.

it has acclaim and gamespot
I'm currently searching ign and cgw and other demos!

-
I also have alpha version of Re-Volt XBOX
It wouldn't hurt visiting my blog or Re-Volt frontend's :)

Do you own the re-volt xbox live version? I'm not. :(

EDIT: RVS does not work for me. Why?

I have the CGW version somewhere although I dunno why you'd want it. The demos are identical except for the sponsor car.

Actually I would like to bother you go looking for it :D

In return I could share with you the PC Gamer demo I just stumpled upon which is actually quite different from the game in its current state (and other demos).

Also I would like to keep a list here of all the demos that are still not found anywhere, the version names are taken from the Xbox source so they should have existed at some point in development.

so if anyone has one of the missing ones (preferably with setup files and not just game files) please post them here!

edit: updated the list down below

It does have those versions.

Anyway, I just managed to get what appears to be the RollingDemo version aka "v0.01" (though its not viewable to the user (its referenced in the .exe as a string though). And yes its just a plain a striped down version of the game where only the Demo mode runs, still an interesting find though.

Here's the updated list, the CGW version should be obtainable (sooner or later  ) and I believe the IGN version should also be somewhere to find (but its official download link is dead and I can't find the file anywhere so it would be nice if someone would post here if he has the version (or any other missing one) available).

Rolling demo? Where to find it?

In fact, Rolling demo is the re-volt version which as a circle on the left-bottom about car position%north. I can't find it anywhere those days

Are you sure about that? (What makes you think that?)

I got it from a PC Games CD 8/99 image and I'm pretty sure its the Rolling demo, not only because the setup path is automatically labeled as "..\Acclaim Entertainment\Re-Volt Rolling Demo\" but also the version number is declared as "v0.01".

Last date modified is 28.4.1999 so its a little newer than the PC Gamer version for example (which also doesnt have the circle).

In fact this version is only for Demo mode viewing and only on Museum 2 map, there is nothing else to do (and if you press a button the program quits with showing the "full version images"). There's not even a frontend level or a car you can control, just plain Demo mode.

Could it be that the version you are talking about is the e3 version?

Once I find the download link from the image again, I'll post it here ;)

You mean -gogodemo ?

Correct me if I'm wrong:
well in fact I meant something similar to this:
http://www.gamerankings.com/n64/198471-re-...es/screen9.html

but the top-right looks more like N64 version not those scrambled text

You mean -gogodemo ?

Yeah pretty much like it, only that its firmly implemented in the executable and there are only museum2 track and the first 8 cars available.

And instead of just quitting, the preview screens to the full version appear.

What makes you think that specifically the Rolling Demo version had that circle implemented? Actually the whole graphic detail in all those pictures is pretty bad, maybe that was some early N64 version?

I've learned about it 4~5 years ago and had the chance to download it but for some reason I was childish back then and couldn't care less...

But I'm positive it had that circle and yes it looks like N64 version, Someone (Sorry I forgot who exactly told me) told me that's possible that they forked that version and continued developing it for N64. The 1D and small 2D textures (which dates in 1997) possibly confirm it.
[offtopic]Have you checked -gamegauge ? it calculates the FPS[/offtopic]

Well I guess there are mutliple sub-versions then

-gamegauge does nothing here, it probably isn't even included in that version.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I finally managed to upload the versions that I have (except "dev", thats just too big and KDL has posted a link somewhere here anyway), they have all the original Setup files in which I found them:
- Acclaim Demo
- Gamespot Demo
- PCGamer Demo (thats the only interesting one so far)
- Rolling Demo

I still would be happy if someone would upload the CGW demo here (or shares it with me). And there has to be somebody who downloaded the IGN demo, I can hardly believe that there is no trace of it except on the IGN site (where the link of stupid fileplanet is dead)...

As for the other versions - I guess they are lost forever (and with them probably three if not more cars, what a shame...).

Uhm except that that is the Acclaim version? It even says so in the main menu.

The dead link I was talking about can be found there -> http://pc.ign.com/articles/068/068470p1.html
They even say that it has an IGN car in it (filename should be "rvign.zip").

Maybe some kind of premium members still have access to some archived areas of fileplanet..?

After some searching I have the honour to present two other lost versions.

Re-Volt DEV
and
Re-Volt Dev0

Both were uploaded on megaupload but because it is dead both were lost.
How I found them?
DEV version was in my laptop from January with a lot of time before Megaupload's dead.
I think a lot of people knows as DEV Version was modified by KDL and other members. I restored it in in a big proportion at it's original stage but Ship2 and Wild West2 are still playable :(.

Re-Volt Dev0 has an another story to tell.
I didn't found it full. So I needed to restore it.
I found the .exe RVS Source Code
For folders, I added the root folders (cars, levels, edit...) but you need also the carinfo.txt (found in RVS Source Code) and mss16.dll, mss32.dll and mssb16.tsk.
This version uses an another kind of font. So I added a font1.bmp also found in RVS Source Code.
Sadly, it crashes at some time after opening it. :(

Re-Volt Dev0 supports also some command lines:
-nosound
-nocolourkey
-carinfo
-rightaboutnow
-window
-normalpriority
-paulsgotnewbansheedrivers
-matttneedsvisioncockingperpolyturnedoff
-editscale

Credits go to KDL for RVS Source Code.

Please enjoy and I hope you will like them.
Have a nice day.
:D

Today I will present you the:

IGN PC Demo

Yes, it's real.

From where I have it?
I changed v0.01acclaim into v0.01ign.pc, so it looks like the original demo. It cames also with IGNPC demo car.

I tried also to reproduce the v0.01pcxl but the game crashes at car selection screen so I think it's not possible to edit it. But if somebody have ideas to fix this please post it here.

The v0.01pcxl is a reproduce of v0.01pcgamer.

EDIT: DELETED LINK.

Also if you looked at posted demos (except Dev and Dev0) you can see there are two kind of demos

1st kind: PCGamer, CGW, PCXL, Rolling; possibly same demos: TNT2, E3
2nd kind: Acclaim, IGNPC, Gamespot; possibly same demos: Gamecenter, MacDonalds, Creative.

I deleted the link from the post with IGN PC Demo because I added the wrong car. The original car had a body bug...

Please download this IGN PC Demo because is more perfect.
