Wonderful control! great one! (even there are some glitches but I couldn't even control it here <:) )
It wouldn't hurt visiting my blog or Re-Volt frontend's :)

What effect did you give to the params that gave you that bouncy landing? Suspension or something else?

Don't remember, I think it's because I kept Sprinter XL's params, just modify some things (as the CoM, or else, well...)

And thx KDL, and yeah when you hit the wall with that, it's "finished" lol

Your driving receives the Mythic Stamp of Approval. :D*like*

You must have tweaked those parameters from what was released, though. Oddly enough...just last night I installed and tried out this car along with several others from the same pack. Personally, I found that I had to do some adjusting to the params myself before either the AI or I could drive it properly. You seem to have it working pretty well for you though, however you have the parameters set up. :)

Despite the insanely high poly count...which is the first one to make my computer pause...I'm really enjoying the Dodge Challenger from what I believe is the same pack...or maybe it was from another one, I'm not sure. I went through several of them from the good Halogaland here, and picked out a few that I could beef up my lower class ranks with. I'm was actually just cruising around in the Challenger. Now I'm working on getting the Komatsu 930e scaled down to a reasonable size..while -not- working on some things I probably should be working on. :D

You make great cars, Halogaland. Several of yours have become real favorites of mine. Keep up the wonderful work! :TU:

^^ Thx mythic :D. And no, I didn't changed Amanra's params, I just have learnt how to drive with it (I love challenges, the dragsters are the one which took me the most time to control). With this car, just one thing, don't try to take a turn without releasing the acceleration ;)

Well, if you did that with the released parameters then I'm extra double impressed. :D It would be one thing to get me trained to use it, but unfortunately the AI couldn't even finish a race with it on the Namco Racer track...which has become one of my favorites both for testing and racing. It kept spinning out and weaving back and forth trying to find some traction.

Well, the AI _can_ be made mostly competent running the Amanra with released parameters. Use this:
UnderThresh 50000
...
OverThresh 50
OverRange 1
OverMax 1
OverAccThresh 50000

It's the second option in my AI tutorial, actually.

Edit: Tried Namco Racer track. Amanra with this AI did 01:41:118 there.

Cool, thanks. It's actually running great now though, with the adjusted parameters. :)

I just tried it and mine managed to do it with the AI in 01:04:069. This was during an eight-car race and that specific lap included at least two spin-outs and a flub at the last twisty bit. The worst lap out of the three that included lots of mixing it up with the other cars was still 01:07 and change. And that still only put me in fourth place. So for the most part I would say the AI is doing pretty well. :D

You're still not using the latest alpha v1.2, are you? This one has some improved AI so maybe that's making a difference.

I didn't regret trying it. It certainly is a breath of fresh air from the mostly rail-handling cars.

Well,
1) I used the Amanra with the released parameters. It’s my philosophy to adjust the AI to the car and not vice versa. My long-term goal is to have simple AI options that run _anything_ well. So far I’m pretty close to that ;)
And 2) Heh, yes, I’m still not using V1.2 AI :). Whatever I can do with V1207 AI, becomes only better with V1.2 AI. Vice versa is not always so safe. And I’m not going to use V1.2 for racing before the bonnet view options of WolfR4 are ported there. (And Jigebren is not willing to do that, as I understand...)

Well, darn that jigebren for making your bonnet view-loving self live in the dark ages of outdated AI! :D

Personally I'm of the school of thought that I will adjust the parameters for my own driving preference then hope the AI can deal with it. I STILL haven't found the time (or to be perfectly honest...the desire) to get into AI tweaking yet. It's on my list, but there is so much to do, so much to learn...I guess I'm just doing those first. :D

That, and right now there really aren't too many problems with my method...which currently includes me doing absolutely nothing to the AI values. I do plan on getting there...oh, I plan on it, believe me...but right this second Huki really does seem to have ironed a lot of things out. The AI cars put up one heck of a good race. I believe that any problems I currently experience are more due to issues with specific tracks rather than the cars or AI.

Well, Mythic, I tried the Amanra with the released params with the latest Alpha (1.2a12.0107), and it does indeed fare better, 1:20:551 this time.
Of course yours with edited parameters would do 1:04, no doubt, but it's not really the same car anymore.

Well, you're right about that. It's definitely not the same car anymore. :D

Here are some screens of my soon-to-be-released repaint and re-tune of Halogaland's Amanra. I re-worked the mesh and uv mapping and re-skinned it. I kept a yellow version as an homage to the original, but also added a purple version to go with the semi-pro and pro versions. :)

Thanks guys. :) It should be available in the next day or two. Personally I can't decide which one I like better. Since it's not released yet, I can go ahead and get a quick public opinion...I almost, but finally decided not to split this up into two vehicles. I'm still kinda on the fence, though.

Right now I've got parameters for all the classes and as things currently stand, the Rookie, Amateur & Advanced make use of the yellow skin while the Semi-Pro and Pro versions use the purple one. Do you think I should go ahead and do that?...make two separate cars for the released version...and set them up to be in different classes?

As for the size...nah, that's just 512x512. :) That reminds me...I still have to make my .bmo's...

Oh my God.

Also please, make sure to include the original parameters too! I'm looking very forward for this!

No problem. I usually include most if not all the original files as backups. Personally I don't modify a single file without first backing it up.

I'm just making some final adjustments to the params and setting some challenge times on some of my favorite tracks. I've tuned this one to work well on some of the tighter tracks. I dismissed a lot of good tracks initially simply because my cars weren't properly tuned for them. Wall-banging makes my head hurt. Then I just need to finish up the owner's manual. :)
