I think that isn't off topic. It is some kind of helicopter... You can ask Nuclearhythmics (Nuc) - the author of this video...

To my utmost opinion, you will need three monitors if:

  • You need lots and lots and lots of desktop room,
  • Having Sony Vegas open in one monitor is a pain,
  • You need to talk to at least thirty people on your IM,
  • You are blind,
  • You are rich and have not a better decision to waste your money on,
  • 3-D Gamez 4 Life! (Oh please),
  • Because, the bigger, the better,
  • Because you are special,
  • And finally, because you just can.

Yep, that's about it. Having three 9" CRT monochrome monitors hooked up to my PC was realistic enough. :P

If I had money and desk space, I would buy two more of my monitor and get a new power supply and graphics card. 4320x900 would be awesome.

Unlike half of you, I can't really "get anything" like what nuc has.
I'm running a Dell e551c stock-ass monitor that came with a Dell Dimension on my Lenovo IdeaCentre K220 that I put a 600W hec PSU in (and it's a continuous and has a blue light in it which is kinda gayish). I also got a secondhand 9800GT, but I have the e551c hooked to it with a DVI to VGA adaptor because the card doesn't even have VGA outs, and my video quality suuuuuuuu~.

Re-Volt DC is and always will be my favorite version. It has double the cars (secondary paint jobs for about everything, and they're just as nice), and they actually have their own boxes and stuff. Now using the DC cars in the PC version works, but, you don't get the boxes, and the PVR compression on the textures is a LOT more obvious than it was on the DC (where all textures were under this compression scheme). Just look at how much grainier PurpXL looks on PC than the Toyeca that came with PC RV.

I just feel the DC version was really effing solid, ran quite smooth most of the time, and it's what I grew up with. Luckily the PC version was little change at all to me. It's the same freakin' engine which is nice.

I have Re-Volt for the N64. I used to play it a lot when I was 5. Sadly, the game was really, really, really laggy. It's probably running at, what, 15 FPS with only four cars shown on the screen? How sad. <_<

I have a possibility for a weird video. If some of you remember, I once got a couple of my custom cars running on the DC version of RV. But back then I had no way to do a good film of it, now I have nullDC emulator which seems to perform well enough for me to show you guys... might take a bit to get it all situated, though.

That would be interesting to see. Now, if only there was a way to make backups and play them on a modified DC, but they were smart in the development of the console and chose a completely different storage medium. <_<

I can't see how that version is enjoyable a bit, even back them, or for today. Even the potential of the PlayStation version was a whole lot better in my opinion. Guess that shows what Nintendo gets for trying to avoid piracy! :D

I take it some don't know about the MIL-CD functionality of a Revision 0 and 1 Dreamcast. Revision 2- you're screwed, sorry bub.

(Words for the unknowing- it will play ripped Dreamcast games off of a regular CD if the CD you burnt is properly selfbooted... and before you say "Well, GD-ROMs hold more", they do, but games can be successfully ripped. Some games don't use over 700 megs, and some games have a lot of FMV and audio that can be compressed further).

I've ran the Accord, RSX, and GT500 Eleanor on a real hardware Dreamcast. I'm just saying nullDC is better for showing everyone because... I don't have any way of capturing my DC. Other than camera to the TV (which I've done... but it looks like crap).

Also, I've ran Quake on Re-Volt DC. Sadly the instances and objects weren't appearing, even if all files were there to load. Also, all textural transparencies were broken because Photoshop PVR plugin doesn't understand PVR transparency... yes, you heard that right, RV DC doesn't use 0, 0, 0 "pureblack" to define invisible, it actually uses full single-level alpha like a GIF does.

I can't get the file to boot yet, it'll take a bit more work. I used a boot disc on the DC. I might just have to use a boot disc on the emulator too... basically, every time I actually selfboot the image (circumventing the need of a boot disc), the game WILL boot but it doesn't reach the Acclaim splashes. It just stalls. I'll have to play around for sure. But if I get it running, I'll play around with screenshots and or video. And if anyone has a request for a track running in RV DC, I'll do it. The folder hierarchy isn't much different at all (if at all).
