A week had passed since Will Barton left the Valhalla to strike off on his own in South America. Purposely hiding within the rainforest of the continent, the Wing Gundam had been engaging various Flag patrols in the one style the Gundam was meant for best, guerilla. Isolating the Sword Ravens was no easy task, however Will Barton was getting more and more confident with each day that he engaged a patrol, spending no more than a minute or two fighting the suits before submerging into a nearby river or body of water. Each time their commanding officer wasn't present, however the chatter he was able to intercept told the ex-solider he was looking for him. Will also knew they were a little bit surprised he left the safety of the Valkyries, but with that move the Valkyries would be safer and not get involved within the personal battles the older pilot had to deal with. I have to leave them out of this for now...especially Dalla. I don't want to trouble them with this, not yet. As he waited for the next patrol, watching the sensors for any contacts, above the skies a trio of Flags flew, with a singular unit carrying on its back a GN Tau Drive. Leading the flight near the Wing's position was Alexander Barcalow. The survivors of the patrols had informed him of a Gundam matching the unit he had fought before. But as he flew with this unit, something in the back of his mind bothered him. The way how they described the attacks, they weren't with a flight mode, but in Mobile Suit mode... Before his thoughts could be finished, an alarm blared as the Flag detected a surge of energy coming from below. "Everyone, scatter now!" Barcalow orders, too late as the beam tore through the Flag to his left. As it exploded, Wing's signature appeared below, as he looked down to see the Gundam emerging from the river below. "So that's how? Clever, the one place we couldn't control, that suit probably could withstand the pressure of the seas for some time," the Major remarks to himself, a small smirk appearing on his face, before issuing another order. "Pilot head back now, I'm going in." Down below Will's radar completely jammed as he realized who it was he shot at. Smirking to himself as well, the GN Flag took a nosedive down towards the Gundam, its beam rifle firing down at the Gundam. As the deadly rays of death rained down, the Gundam tossed its buster rifle to the side, shielding itself from the energy. As a few connected with the shield, denting it in, the rest splashed around harmlessly into the water. Pulling out the beam saber, Wing's thrusters roared to life as it took to the skies for the GN Flag. As Wing got closer, the GN Flag transformed at the last minute, tackling the Gundam and sending them back to the river below. With both suits descending, the Flag readied its array of melee weapons, however Wing shoved its shield in the way, locking one arm temporarily unable to do anything. As their free arms locked sabers, both Suits hit the water violently, the Gundam taking most of the impact. The first to emerge after a few seconds, the Flag stood waiting. It didn't take long for the Gundam to emerge, as it rushed forward fast at the suit. The GN Flag countered by parrying the saber away and side stepping with its thrusters. As Barcalow smirked at the ease, the smirk disappeared with a look of shock as the shield from the Gundam suddenly was in view, unable to counter in time. Smacking the lighter and more frail suit away, Wing turned to face the Flag as it landed on the trees. Surprised at such a move, the Flag reoriented itself quickly. What the hell? That wasn't a survival instinct move at all.... Edited by Wild, Jun 13 2010, 02:56 PM.

The Gundam wasted no time as the pilot made his machine charge forward at the Flag. Barcalow quickly regained his composure and readied his machine to take the charge. Coming in the Gundam fast, the Flag used the momentum to counter strike, yet again the Wing Gundam was able to block it with ease using the saber, and successfully lock both blade and saber of the Flag. As Barcalow struggled to break free, the Gundam's shield struck into the locked arm fast, using both of Wing's arms to snap off the Flag's left arm completely. Backing off, the Major was surprised at how fierce Will had become. "You aren't a Newtype, or a Coordinator. Yet you've seem to somehow awaken your true potential. I guess I was wrong about you...however your suit..." Alex starts, as the Flag puts away its saber and pulls out its rifle. "...is clearly damaged." Will's eyes widened as he realized that in going aggressive, the stance of the Gundam was showing a slump in the right leg at the knee, where the damaged components were. Unable to react in time, the Flag fired shot after shot quickly into the right knee of the Gundam, exposing enough structure to start causing serious damage. As warnings blared and electricity crackled, the Gundam moved with its shield up and fired its ballistics at the Flag. Leading it as the Flag dodged its shots, the Flag shuddered violently as several warnings came up on his screen. "Damnit....I've got no choice, but it seems your suit is finished Will," Barcalow states, taking to the skies quickly as the Flag transformed and took off, patches of armor falling off the suit with structural components clearly damaged. Despite the damage, the GN Flag still had enough power and integrity to make it back to base. Slumping in his seat, Will sighed in relief as the Flag left. He was able to match the pilot. His worth as a MS pilot was proven, however the cost was great. Checking on the status, Will noted the damage to the structure was bad. Too many components were destroyed for the Gundam to survive another flight. For both Will and Wing, it was time to go home, back to the Valkyries. I'm heading back everyone...I'll be able to pull my own weight now. Transforming, the Gundam took off and flew back to Australia, leaving behind South America. |
