.....
Rock walked up to the businessman and gave him a questioning glance. With a smile and the offer of a handshake, the suited man introduced himself.

"Hello, you must be Mr. Katai, my name is Miles Simmons, I represent the Orb Union tournament comittee."

Rock shook his hand and thought before answering, "Tournament committee, don't they make all the decisions about who wins and loses? I didn't break any rules.... so what does he want?"

"The reason I came here today is that the Orb Union was very impressed with your skills during the recent race. Orb officials came to know that your Mobile Suit has been severly damaged."

"Wait, how did you find out about that so quickly? It's only been a few days."

Simmons combed back his hair with one hand, and adjusted his glasses. "Mr. Katai, reporters are extremely daring in this day and age. News travels at unprecedented speed." He said, motioning the young soldier to follow him.

"As I was saying, Orb has seen your plight, and does not wish it's first ever racing champion to fall on hard times so soon after his triumph. As such I was asked to deliver this gift to you." He said, pointing Rock to a kneeling black and white Mobile Suit and several large crates, presumably holding weapons. "I give you, the GN-XII!"

Rock was startled, not only was it odd to be given an entire Mobile Suit so suddenly, but like with the Double Zeta, he felt an odd prescence about this machine. Unlike Double Zeta, it was not manifested in a crushing pressure, but a weaker force that struck no fear into his heart.

"So this Jinx II thing.... is it any good?" Rock asked, not wanting to part with F90, and certainly not for a machine that he couldn't hold his own in.

Simmons sighed with the sound of a man who was about to give a lecture. "Please don't call it 'Jinx', it's not cursed or anything. The GN-XII is a fine mobile suit, slated for mass production soon, it has a wide variety of weapons and high performance thanks to it's GN Tau drive. Though it has less raw power than your Gundam, it's more refined, and has less maintenence requirements. Lastly, it's durable E-carbon armor can withstand even more punishment than Gundarium, with similiar weight."

"Sounds like it can take a beating, and he says it's easy on the repairs... so If I use this for now, Miyuki doesn't have to try to fix two machines at once...." Rock thought it over carefully. He wanted to keep piloting F90, but he knew that even Miyuki couldn't garuntee it would be fixed before they were attacked, or before a job required him to pilot a Mobile Suit. This way, he could let her focus on trying to save Amuro as well.

"Any strings attached?" Rock asked, "I don't have to work for Orb if I take this do I?"

"No, don't be absurd! Though I'm sure Orb would welcome you if you so chose, there is no obligation. Orb simply wants the chance to advertise their new technologies, while doing what they can to keep you around for next year's tournament."

"I see, well, I guess I'll take it. Can't really turn it down now can I?" Rock said, looking up at the machine. "GN-XII.... I'm not the best at naming things, but that seems a little unimaginative...." He thought, hardly noticing Haro roll into his foot again.

"Rock got Guns! Rock got Guns!" Haro said, flashing it's good eye and flapping it's intermittently working arm and leg doors. Haro glitched, as it often does, and assumed a sad attempt at a serious look, "Haro can help! Deadeye shooter!"

"Oh I see you have a Haro, those are pretty rare these days." Simmons said with a chuckle, "Still, in Orb they are common enough that many of our Mobile Suits can interface with them. Sadly the GN-XII is not one of them."

Haro said nothing surprisingly, but instead spun rapidly for no apparent reason, and dug a small divot into the ground.

"Well, I shall take my leave now, enjoy your new Mobile Suit Mr. Katai." Simmons said, cheerfully getting into the helicopter that had dropped off the machine, and flying away.

"Well... He was definately nicer than our last guest....." Rock thought aloud, looking over the GN-XII. "I guess I should tell Miyuki to stay home this time."
