An Epilogue for Malcolm; An Ending and Beginning

The Strike Gundam and its various packs had fetched quite a price, and Malcolm was happy to direct the money to several charities and services that Everie had given him. She was still coming to terms with Malcolm giving up his life as a mercenary to devote himself entirely to speaking, but she was coming around to the idea. In a way, she had seen this coming even before Malcolm had, but that didn't make it much easier to accept. She had liked the idea of the two of them flying around in mobile suits, fighting for good, but like Malcolm, she had seen the contradictions.

Malcolm had asked her to marry him two weeks after the conference, after things had settled down a bit. That had surprised her. Aside from being rather abrupt, she had hoped - not known - that Malcolm had harbored any such feelings for her. They honeymooned near Everie's hometown, and Malcolm finally met her parents - strict, hardworking folk who seemed proud of what their daughter had grown into. They had read his book, and noticed Everie in the special thanks section. They were proud, but had high expectations for the pair. They asked Everie whether she had heard anything from her sister. This was news to Malcolm - he didn't even know that Everie had a sister - but Everie just shook her head sadly; Malcolm could tell she was lying. Perhaps he'd ask about her, later.

The work was not over; Malcolm had been contacted by a representative from Orb, who respected his wishes for non-affiliation, but offered him resources to put together a speaking tour across the world, then to the moon and other colonies in space. It was just what Malcolm had been hoping for, but he hadn't dreaming of securing such resources so soon. The pair quickly fell into the rhythm of planning for the trip, and set off, with high hopes for themselves, their ideas, and for the humanity who would hear them. They would not be disappointed.
