Neo-Germany Commencement Ceremonies; A New Prime Minister is Announced

“Prime Minister, it is almost time.” A young male page pushed his face slightly into the crack of the doorway before disappearing down into the hall from where he came. The entire staff of the Minister’s complex as in a near panic due to the commencement ceremonies, spotlights sprayed across the open night’s sky, loud music from a dozen sources tried to overlap and fight each other, while in the distance a few eager citizens managed to let off the fireworks a bit early which begun to decorate the horizon. The commencement ceremony was almost upon the Neo-Germany colony. After years of hardship the colony was set to emerge into the public’s eye once more and re-enter commerce.

The sudden re-growth of the faded colony nation was the result of their newest prime minister, a young female politician who took office at the young age of 26. With her years of effort she had managed to bring a failing economy back to stability and also pulled off the recreation of Neo-Germany’s Gundam Fighter team, enlisting the newest German sensation ‘Skullman’ which fought along with the Gundam Spiegel. Publicity campaigns sponsored by the government had seen both the Gundam and the Fighter’s iconic mask established as patriotic symbols among the citizens.

“Has he arrived from Earth yet?” The Prime Minister looked up from her desk and at the lineup of assistants, each of them with a computer in hand ensuring the night would go smoothly.

“Not yet Ellen, we aren’t able to locate him however we suspect he’s in the area. He should arrive before the celebrations are over.” Three styluses rapidly tapped across the screens as each assistant went to work in their own way. One broke the silence again, “we should get moving downstairs.”

Ellen Biermann looked up from her desk, and then at the clock. She hated heading everyone ahead of time, before taking office she was much more inclined to be on time exactly, but her schedule as prime minister was no longer something she could make on her own, or even change for that matter.

“Alright, let’s get moving. Contact security and let them know we are about to move.” Minister Biermann stood up from behind her desk and started adjusting her suit.

Nicola was unfortunately delayed, but his suit had arrived at the scene of the conference. The Spiegel made its way unnoticed and now lay hidden in a neighboring alley. The entirety of his plan would not take long; the Prime Minister had already arrived at the elevator and begun her patient wait for the machine to reach the top. The eyes of Skullman’s mask shined red against the night as he began his cleansing.

His feet were light as they sprint his body across the rooftop. His Kevlar coated arm outstretched as it collided with the neck of a guard, the force cracking the neck and also managing to fracture a good portion off the top of his spine in the same instant. Speed did not change as the masked figure continued along his path. The expert martial artist needed no assistance as he tossed several other guards around like rag dolls, most of them meeting their ends quickly while two unlucky men faced a free fall off the four stories before death.

Reaching the courtyard, Skullman leapt down behind the crowd, drawing attention which couldn’t be helped as his landing left a small indentation in the concrete. His presence was to start a stir, whispers among the crowd spread. His path lead straight through the center of the crowd, but time was even shorter than he expected. Most had only seen a shadow out of their eyes, even as he leapt into the building through an open window on the third story. The time for the Prime Minister’s appearance had come, and with a cut of the elevator’s cable Ellen Biermann found herself in a free-fall which wouldn’t end until the lower basement levels. The disfigured elevator car she had been in had become her early grave. Making his way back to the window the security’s radio chatter went wild with one voice, screams of act echoed through the headsets on his now dead team.

He would be the only man to link Skullman to the night of violence, viewing the figure of the country through the scope of his sniper rifle. As he lined up the sights of his target however a small dot in the middle of those sights expanded. Metallic and smooth on all sides, the lengthy spear soared effortlessly from the warriors arm and met its mark through the scope of the rifle into the eye and the brain of the commander. His body, along with all others would be collected during the speech. Missing persons would be mourned along with the untimely illness of the former prime minister. Rebellion and arguments were not on the mind of the nation, tired of non-existence and a failing government they would cling to whatever was presented before them.

Nicola was well aware of this as he kicked in the elevator door along the wide horizontal slash he had done previously. A fourth of the door made its way down the shaft as the black figure worked his way two floors down and emerged from the doorway, already in view of the public. Echoes haunted the shaft the exit to the podium was made.

His eyes glared briefly at the one of three assistants that took the stairs. Luck had nothing to do with his survival.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, on this day we celebrate the re-establishing of our Country among the stars. With this night, Neo-Germany and The World Gundam Federation return to the forefront of the expanse of space. Now without further delay, I am honored to present our new Prime Minister, the Gundam Fighter responsible for bringing us back from these dark times: The Skullman!”

The days on the colony would continue uninterrupted by the events Nicola has played a hand in. He was now in a position of power and moved on to try and establish communications with the other colonies through the re-creation of the World Gundam Federation headquarters inside Berlin.
