The jungle canopy was awash with natural beauty. The bright green leaves of the trees contrasted the clear blue sky that peered through at the inhabitance of the South American rain forest. Birds with brightly colored plumage soared effortlessly from their perches, a sight that was truly inspiring. To be free, to soar above and away from the harsh gravity of Earth... Yes it would have been truly magnificent to influence ones heart; to bad that Ms Yumi was currently face down in the dirt as the front of her combat fatigues grew grimey with the underbrush. She pushed herself up and watched as a bead of swet dropped to the grond under her face, coloring it with moisturee for just a moment then going back to normal. "Ninety eight." She breathed out before lowering herself back down in a controlled decent. Mai had arrived at the target destination only a day or so ago but the humidity was aweful here in this part of the Earth. Not nearly the usual cold sterile invironment of space or the colonies. She prepped her body just an inch away from the ground and brought herself back up to the military standard position. Her legs and back kept perfectly strait as she looked up ahead of her. "Ninety nine." She had put herself into the habbit of looking up inbetween her pushups. She had been waiting to hear from LW about her first mission out on her own. A couple yards away from her was parked the Astray Mirage. It was situated in a knealing manner with one knee raised to its chest and its hands laying atop the leg. The cockpit was open and inside she could see the flicker of a read out in the shadow of the enclosure. Redoubling her efforts she quickly dropped herself to the ground, catching herself just before making contact and then lept to her feet. "One hundred." She briskly jogged to the Mobile suit and though her arms were slightly fatiquied she climbed up to the pilots chair with relative ease. Her fingers flew across the control panel as her eyes scanned over the transmission. A mobile suit was displayed in front of her as she traced the outline of it with her fingertip on the screen. "Target confirmed." She said with amusment. |

"Damn it why does this shit always happen to me?" asked Jaiden to himself the mostly repaired N Dagger N Kai made its way through the dense jungle canopy. After that last battle, his Mirage Colloid needed to be almost totally repaired by Naomi and the crew of the Teletha. That is, to say, he didn't have the tools available to do it on the fly. It was way too irritating to have to move and worrying about being seen, or even while not at full power His head was practically on a swivel watching the cameras that still worked making sure that the enemy wasn't close. One of the people at the site of the battle was targeting him, he was sure of it. There was no telling where he was now. "Man, I better hurry up. This temperature is ridiculous." Thank god he had been able to fix the temperature control or else he would have been broiled. The South American climate wasn't for the weak, that's for sure. Jaiden checked his panels for like the millionth time and continued to push through the rainforest. |

As Mai examined the information on the digital read out infront of her, another screen came to life as the long range radar signaled anapproaching heat source. She promptly closed down her research and turned her attention to the new arrival. "Someone else this far into the jungle?" She mused as she began to file through her memory banks. Her eyes glimmering with reflected light in the dark cockpit. "If someone is this far out here alone... there are a few options. One, A scout. Two, someone straying from his patrol. Or three, someone trying to sneak through." She activated the Gundams system, the main cockpit closing as she was washed with light from her view pannels. With prescice movment the suit stood. Her first priority for the time was to remain hidden and activating the Mirage system was almost instinctive by this time. "If One, avoid contact with enemy and strike later." She directed the suit down closer to the tree canopy, doing her best to not leave a trail behind the Mirage Astray. A task easier said than done considering the dense foliage of the trees. "If two, observe and gain tactile information." The suit reached asuitable point for cover at the edge of where the trees opened up into a small clearing. She checked the distance to the target on her radar and then turned to looking 'out' her main camera. "And in the case of three. Discover why they are trying to sneak through." |

Jaiden finally found something of use in the dense jungle- water. As much as he hated to admit, he was dying of thirst. He made such a hasty exit from the last battlefield, he didn't remember to fill up his canteens. The clean blue water seemed like a fantasy that was too good to be true. The N Dagger N knelt so that the cockpit was close to the edge of the water. Jaiden quickly unstrapped himself from his seat and began to exit the cockpit. As the cockpit doors opened Jaiden jumped back quickly as a pair of long jaws snapped inched away from his face. Drawing his sidearm, he emptied the clip into the alligator, who was about to make another attempt at the man's life. The final casing fell into the dirt the same time as the dead animal. "Whoa. That was a little too close." sighed Jaiden as he ejected the clip and inserted another. Angry snarls and growls alerted him to more alligators headed his way. "Screw this. I'll get some water from somewhere else." muttered Jaiden, closing the cockpit door. The N Dagger N stood up to its full height and Jaiden looked down at the leathery beasts. They didn't want any part of the monster that stood before them and scurried back into the water. "Yeah, that's right bitches." sneered Jaiden as the N Dagger N turned and made its way back through the jungle. |

TheMirage loomed behind one of the trees just at the edge of radar, keeping the N Dagger within watch but keeping a ways off in case it decided to be ahostile unit. The geographic reading showed that it was standing near to thewater source, briefly powering down, or at least going into standby. "Water source..." Inside her mind there was a flash as she recalleda memory. It was from the early days of training, Kabuto her 'father' was lecturing her on what to do in case of wilderness survival. It was imparative to remain near a water source. "Water is the source of life and it can also provide you with a food source as animals will flock to it for sustanance." She looked on a bit more with understanding at her screen, as though the Mobile suit was standing before her. As though to awaken her from her thoughts the Mirage gave an annoyed buzzing noise, a reminder that the suits leg still needed repair after the engagment with the Green Frame. "Imbosilic Reporter ruined everything." The fight replayed in her mind as she recalled her flaw. She hadn't taken the time to scan the entire range and the Murphy had been able to creep into combat zone. That was her first mistake. Second of all was her retreat, had she charged forward she may have been better able to keep the Astray Green from connecting with so many shots. They had seemed to be fired in random though. Probably having gotten emotional at the prospect of being framed. She shook herself free of the thoughts of the past and disengaged the Mirage system. She wasn't about to give up her ace to a total stranger. Afterwards she began to move her mobile suit forward in the targets direction. She didn't like the prospect of 'making friends' but as the old saying went, 'Kep your friends close and your enemies closer.' Asshe reached radio range shebegan to broadcast on an open frequency. Her voice dry with disenterst as she awaited the answer of the other pilot. "You lost out here or just taking a strole?" |

"You lost out here or just taking a stroll?" "Damn, already?" thought Jaiden, assuming it was the attacker from before. The voice came over the comm just as a blip came on the radar. Jaiden watched as a purple mobile suit came into view. The N Dagger N adapted a defensive stance, grasping the hilt of it's Gabera Straight Katana. "I know I checked my sensors when I got back in the suit. How is it that I missed that. Is it some type of stealth tech. Either way I was too careless." thought Jaiden to himself. The mobile suit approached almost casually, as if the pilot didn't have any intentions to attack. Jaiden watched the approach carefully, prepared to counter if they attacked. When they were in striking range and didn't make a move, Jaiden started to run through his options. " I can stay and fight, but with the N in this condition, I'll lose for sure. Running isn't an option, so I guess I'll solve this by talking." The cockpit of the N Dagger N Kai opened and Jaiden stepped out, hands over his head to show he meant no harm. One hand had a canteen in it. "Yeah, a little bit of both, actually. You wouldn't happen to have any water to spare would ya?" asked Jaiden, turning his canteen upside down, "I'm running on dry." |

As the two mobile suits came ito striking distance of each other Mai hesitated. Her hand rest lucidly atop the controls... lucid but she kept the energy in place should she be required to act instantaniously. Upon closer inspection it was obvious that his own suit had gone through a rough patch out here in the jungle as hers had. "He must have been in battle recently. He may or may not have been the winner but by the looks of his suit he's in no condition for another round. He's escaping through the forest either to get away from the opposing mobile suit. Or possibly if it had any allies in the area." She mentally cursed. On the one hand it meant this man wasn't about to be a a direct source of trouble, but it did mean there may be angry pursuiers after him and she wasn't about to be guilty by association. All the more so she watched her radar out of the corner of her eye. Soon after making the connection the suit opened and the pilot stepped out... A man... no surprises there. Atleast he aknowledged she had gotten the jump on him. A quick debate formulated in her mind. On the one hand why should she show any mercy? She certainly wouldn't expect her enemies to offer such a gracious favor. Then again she had intended to come over with the intention of finding out more about what may be going on in the area. And what could she learn by fighting with an injured mobile suit anyways? She hated handicap matches. As swiftly as the debate began it ended as one of her secondary cameras zoomed in on him. His canteen obviously empty. "He wants water as well..." She heaved a sigh of dissapointment. Instinct was to obliterate him right away but her training instructed never to act without fully exploring the situation. That obscene soft voice of a concious tipped the balance, and she opened the front of her gundams frame. "I know I am going to regret this." She thought to herself. Grabbing her canteen from its resting place behind the pilots chair and stood up. She stepped out into the light and put her arms up to signify she meant him no harm. "I've got some water you can have!!" Despite her best intent to sound 'gracious' her voice was aggressive. Almost like it had been demanded by some unseen force that she give him the water against her will and that she was ticked off at the idea. Inside she cursed again before taking a breath, slowly letting it out, and began again. "Sorry... If you need some water you are welcome to mine." It was much friendlier this time though with just the faintest undertone of aggrivsaion.. Edited by Kai, Jun 4 2010, 02:17 PM.

Jaiden gave off a slight grin as the woman exited her mobile suit. It was more of relief than anything. He was just glad she hadn’t decided to obliterate him from her mobile suit. In hindsight, coming out of the safety of the N before he confirmed whether she was an enemy or friend was a really stupid. Even now, it wasn’t known if she was or not. "I've got some water you can have!!" she said in an aggressive tone that made Jaiden cock his head to the side in curiosity. For a second, he wondered if he needed to get the hell out of dodge before she spoke again. "Sorry... If you need some water you are welcome to mine." That was a much friendlier tone, although he though he sensed irritation. Jaiden caught the canteen she threw to him and quickly pour a bit of the contents into his own. He tossed the woman’s canteen back to her then downed what he had poured in his. The cool water hitting the back of his throat was the best feeling in the world right now. “Thanks, I really needed that.” Jaiden said With that, he dashed back into the cockpit of the N Dagger N Kai. He manipulated the controls to put the mobile suit into a kneeling position, then exited the suit. He quickly jumped to the ground and jogged lightly over to the alligator he’d killed. “Hey, you wanna build a fire while I cut this thing up?? Alligator meat is really good.” He figured to himself that with such generosity, he might as well pay her back. There wasn’t much fine dining in the South American jungle, but there was tasty wildlife. |

Donac had completed the repairs on the Messala from his engagement against the Exia and was now looking for supplies, knowing very well he didn't want to run out or even low. He was now sitting in Messala's cockpit as he had his machine in its Mobile Armor mode, hovering above the trees as he looked for a suitable spot to set up a base camp for the time being. He rolled his shoulders as he gripped the controls. "Earth's gravity is a little more cumbersome than I had expected. But still....it's managable." He said out loud to no one but himself as his sensors picked up 2 machines in the vacinity of his own, he was curious as to who was here and guided his machine over to where the Mirage and N Dagger were at, hovering nearby as he was cautious not nowing if the two machines were hostile but he could sense some tension between the two pilots. "Is this tension from my arrival or something else?" He said as he began landing maneuvers near the mobile suits. |

Mai lifted her hand and caught the tossed canteen. Atleast he hadn't taken all the water by the feeling of it. She watched as he re-entered his mobile suit and brought it down to a knealing station. It was safe to say he wasnt going to fight. His decent upon the dead aligator made her slender eyebrow raise in curiosity. "He killed that? His combat skill out f the suit must not be to bad." She had another flashback, recalling knife fight training at the Librarian camp. It was scheduled for sixteen hundred but the instructor always started at sixteen o five Because of his ritual to finish his lunch in front of them. She had been having problems in the class. They were on lesson 32 and every session inspite of getting better each time she always ended up with the blade pressed at her throat or into her gut. Her teacher walked over and held the live blade in view. He took her arm and procceed to cut deep along the muscle. She wasn't supposed to scream and stood unflinching. However the pain was all to real. He once more showed the weapon to her now stained with the oxydized blood. "If you do not fight to kill your opponent, they will kill you. It is survival and no ammount of training will give you the killer instinct you need. You must cultivate that in your heart." She slightly wet her lip with the tip of her tounge before hearing him speak. “Hey, you wanna build a fire while I cut this thing up?? Alligator meat is really good.” She was in disbeliefhe was being quite socordial. It seemed out of place for a pilot, especially a male pilot. But some of them were cordial in an effort to play to their own desires... whatever they may be. She heard the long range radar in her cockpit sound assomething entered into the area. She didn't have time to reply. She wasn't going to have something get the drop on her again. How well she remembered, the Green Frame's arm had been severed and she had managed a few more slashed to the opposing suit, nothing substantial though. Four injuries to be prescice, right upper arm, left knee had been a nick, right thigh, left trapt. And then the helicopter decended. In the cockpit she saw the speed at which the target was approaching. the cockpit closed as she spun and leveled the Mirage beam rifle at the potential hostile. It may have made her look paranoid but atleast she would stand a chance if the new bogey wanted to fight. As it came into visual range it was revealed to be a mobile armor, and quite a maneuverable one at that. "Is this tension from my arrival or something else?" She didn't drop the Mirage defenses, atleast not yet. "Isn't there always tension these days? Wars have a tendency to do that to people." |

Donac landed Messala and came out of the cockpit showing himself to them. "Be at peace. I'm not affiliated with the alliance or Orb. I am Donac Thaus of the Imperial Expedition Force." He hoped there were some who knew of the Empire on Earth. It would be a relief if he was able to secure allies to aid in their understanding of what has happened. |
