Art paced back and forth at the feet of the Mercurius. He shook his head, angered with the current events. He ran a hand through his hair as he stopped. His purple eyes slowly trailed up the Mercurius’ body, finally meeting up with the mobile suit’s mono-eye.

“Ridiculous. Unbelievable. It is amazing how people are so conniving. The very ally we sought to help during this operation was the very same who turned around to attacked us. All for what?” He motioned with his arms in question to Mercurius.

Sighing, Art walked over to the lift next to his mobile suit. He got on and rode it up to the cockpit, watching slowly as he became closer to Mercurius’ eye-level. The lift stopped near the cockpit, and it opened for Art to hop into. He eased into the seat, resting his head against the back of the pilot’s chair.

“All for money, my dear red shield,” he finished with a smirk coming over his face, “This is exactly what we are fighting against to renew the world. Power. Money distribution like that derives from sources of power that hopes to control others. While those that desire money have ill-bred thoughts. They flock to the scent of the rich, fueling the war machine that corrupts our world.”

Art raised his hand, looking into his palm. His smirk turned into a grimace, thinking of his partners. The thought of the word partners unsettled him. It wasn’t just the enemy, but the people he thought he could work with as well. He brought his palm over his eyes as Art began to laugh. Just when he thought he couldn’t despise other humans any more than he already does. Reality only got worse. It was more reason to take action. This changed nothing. Art would be the shield for Eden to perform at her best. Eden is still the sword this world is looking for.

He stopped laughing and took in a deep breath, “Looks like I’ll have to bring in an old friend, Mercurius. He’ll be bringing along someone you might remember as well.”

Art reached into his shirt pocket and took out an aged photo. It was of his old newtype instructor back at the EGG research facility.

“I finally got in contact with him again. We’ll need his combat prowess to aid us in our new world. He would want to help; I know this to be true. John Price. An impressive man, indeed. He taught me how to manipulate my newtype powers. He was the only person in that hell-hole that I could rely on to keep sane while I was a prisoner there. Get ready to say hello to your long lost brother, Mercurius.”
