It's All Because (The Gays Are Getting Married) http://youtu.be/rixkck8QnjY |
| History will not judge us merely for overcoming our challenges, but for how we respond to them. If we allow fear to dictate our actions ... we will have utterly conquered ourselves. You, the people, must now decide if we will step forth from this inferno and claim our place in history, or recede into the ashes of time as a cautionary tale to later generations. Our future begins--or ends--with your decision. ~PCS Jack Ihn, undelivered campaign speech | |

Torvaldia's link made me think of this: Bögarnas fel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChwI2wFO61M It's a musical number from a Swedish comedy show that does rather provocative satire (the same people caused a diplomatic incident with a comedy act in the Swedish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest a few years ago, which made fun of Russia). Their intention with the act linked to above was to make fun of homophobia, not homosexuality, and I get that, but apparently not all viewers did at the time of its airing, so it remains controversial. The setting here is a parody of a Swedish debate programme, called "Debatt", in which experts, politicians and "people on the floor" are mixed together in an audience that debates amongst itself while moderated by the host. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk-6quA0eNw&feature=share A company selling mail forwarding in Sweden has been making fun TV ads for quite some time. This is their latest and I think it's really cute. The text at the end means "Today Kjell lives with Britt-Marie / Don't miss any important mail / Have your mail forwarded when you move" |

Matt Fishel - The First Time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_6BelLZDgk Posted this on Featured Region day 13 Apr 2013. I found it after reading a PinkNews interview with Matt Fishel: http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2013/04/12/inter...nking-straight/ Have been listening to it on and off repeatedly since - sometimes that happens with me. Anyway. I thought I should put it here because it's a great song, and also because it touches on equal representation and activism and just normalises same-sex relationships in a way that might appeal to visitors to our region. |

Well, it's definitely a video... I wouldn't call it music though. Maybe just my taste in music. :/ The group itself is interesting, and the video currently on their website ('Forbidden') is worth a look, emphasis on look. (Sorry if you're a big fan.) http://theirrepressibles.com/ |

Considerably off-topic, my partner and I watched a short movie entitled something like "The.Leather.Bar," directed by James Franco (love him!) It's a movie about making a movie out of the "reimagined" 40 minutes of heavy m4m action out of the 1980 movie "Cruising" with Al Pacino (even edited, I enjoyed "cruising" very much at the time--I was still in HS). Franco himself performs in the short, commenting that the original movie saw entering the world of an S&M leather bar in 1980 was seen as "a descent into darkness and evil," while in his view, it was a place of joy, albeit shocking to mainstream American audiences (and that was kind of the point). It arguably crosses the line into porn, showing hard penises getting sucked, etc., so I won't link it--VERY unsafe for work. Franco argued the gay sex advanced the storyline, hence was not porn. I would've enjoyed it more if it hadn't been the movie-within-a-movie, and probably unique to us, it paused every couple of minutes to reload on Netflix, which was as annoying as hell. So why do we permit--encourage with our attendance currency, directors to make graphic, ultra-violent movies (which qualify as a very distasteful kind of porn IMHO), while wanting Hollywood to confine itself to innuendo and veiled references to sex, especially gay sex? I agree with Franco that I'd rather see more explicit sex and less explicit violence. Since every gay is a movie critic what do the rest of you think? Have any of the rest of you seen it?

I watched this last night - thought it was good, considering the genre and all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Crossed_(film) "Triple Crossed is a 2013 mystery-thriller film directed by Sean Paul Lockhart and written by Linda Andersson. It stars Jack Brockett, Addison Graham, Sean Paul Lockhart, and Laura Reilly. The film is the story of a gritty and seductive take on one man's torment, the collateral damage of war and finding life after loss." Sean Paul Lockhart is better known as porn star Brent Corrigan. But it wasn't that kind of film...
