When you make a new file, you can decide if the background has to be white or transparent, right?

I don't really know what team icons you're talking about, but... Not every image file supports transperacy.
Try to save them as a different image file. I'm shure about .gif files supporting transperancy, others too but i don't know for shure what those are...But anyway try saving them as .gif files, that should probably do the trick.

I'm talking about the icons under member's names (like admin, moderator etc), they are gif files, anyways I fixed it by changing the white color..
