Startled, Kiyri looked up from her book. "Trilkiyri." She barely stopped herself from grimacing. Her stepmother, Senaa, stood just inside her doorframe. It wasn't that she wasn't a good woman- no she had enough sense to say Senaa was a great woman- but she couldn't relate to her. They were both too different. Most importantly, though, Senaa always sided with her father. She often thought that Senaa only did it to... "Trilkiyri, your father wants to speak to you." Kiyri blinked in surprise, it was the only thing that showed what she felt. Him? Speak to her? Well, it was her punishment for being in the palace. Then again, she was often in the palace and her father never so much as acknowledged her. Standing, she straightened her dress.

"Thank you, Senaa," she said calmly and was surprized to see Senaa curtsy to her before leaving. What was happening? Senaa was married to the king, a higher status than Kiyri herself. Now Senaa was lowered to message-sending and curtsying? IT couldn't be possible. Thrusting all thoughts of Senaa's sudden meekness from her mind, she went to her maid, who was straightening her bed in the next room, and told her to get a dress suitable for seeing the king.

As she had an elegant dress, athough maybe more modest than she was accustomed to- it wouldn't do to seem to be trying to flirt with the king, father or no- she thought about what he could possibly want. Maybe he wanted to have her executed. She started. No, he would never do that. Where'd she even get the idea? No he probably just wanted someoneto rant at. That was all she was good for, in his eyes.

Dressed, she glided into the corridor, put on her most aloof face, and went to the audience room for the king. Senaa hadn't said where he was. Walking in, she saw his there, clothed in all his arrogance, sitting on his throne... "Trilkiyri, my daughter."

A slight widening, of her eyes, raised brows, the pause in her curtsy, all said she was surprised over all. Normally she could control her emotions; today it was just too hard. Too many surprizes. "My King, I come at your summons." She decided to ignore him calling her daughter.

"Trilkiyri, it pains me to be separated from you so. Please call me Father. I made a mistake. How can I ask you to forgive me? But I must, I need your love." Her throat tightened in a flash of anger. A mistake? It would take a lifetime to rebuild their relationship, and he surely didn't want to. He wanted to use her. But how? Best to stay away from any kind thoughts.

"My... Father," she said tightly. "I do not know why you have changed your mind so passionately. I will accept your love, if you wish to give it to my sister as well."

His face hardened until she was sure it could crack stone. "I cannot do that."

"Then I must decline your offer." She tried to make her voice hard, like his, but it turned out to be a mixture of anger and disgust. Why would he even ask, so unprepared? Did he believe she'd forget Ave? "My king, is that your only reason for summoning me?" She had her emotions, and voice, under control now. She watched her father closely. He seemed to be thinking furiously, probably of another way to get into her favor again. Finally he nodded curtly. His face was red, but he attempted a look of sadness.

"I regret your answer, my daughter. You may leave." The last was just barely not a shout, and much to blunt for her to believe. Anger burned in her like a fire. How could he say such a lie? It was... She curtsied as elegantly as she knew how, and glided out of the room.

First, she was going to return to her rooms, but she saw Nalik headed there. She was not in the mood to deal with people. She wandered in the hall but even there, too many servants dallied along and gossiped. Finally, she stopped in an empty room and reached out to the power in the depths of the earth. Fire, pure fire. It only enhanced her anger. She brought some into the air in front of her. To anyone who walked in on her, it would not seem like fire. It would look somewhat like a mirror made of light, but she could sense the fire. After a moment, the fire cleared, leaving just a rim of light big enough for her to walk through. Inside was a lightly forested area.

She stepped in. It was the Arenteusi Mountains, thousands of miles away, in Kastiel. The coldest place she could think of; it would help cool her nerves. It was empty most of the time, but even if people were here, they would not recognise her. Not that she cared that much. She just didn't want to see Senaa, Kairo, or Nalik. Only those three knew that she had found a way to teleport with fire. Others suspected, but only those knew.

As soon as she let the fire go, she heard voices. Just barely, they were far away, but she went to go see. She went quietly, so she did not frighten them, although she doubted that would happen. Neither was looking her way, and neither woman noticed her most likely; she was walking in the snow. She stepped onto a patch of dry leaves, to make noise for them to hear. One was replacing a sword. Both were young women, and both beautiful. Maybe not as beautiful as her... not that she was bragging...

"I'm Enria," Enria said. Suddenly her ears pricked up.
"What was that?"

"What was what?" Cynthill questioned.

"Quiet. I hear something." She drew her sword once more and krept to the trees.

She heard the chrunching as well and looked around and saw a beautiful girl at the edge of the forest staring at them."It's alright Enria. look." she started to walk towards the girl.

"What was that?" She heard one of them say. "Quiet. I hear something." Kiyri watched as the brown-haired one came towards her, unsheathing a sword. The woman was quite a bit taller than herself, over a foot taller.

"It's alright, Enria. Look." That was the shorter, blond and blue-eyed girl. That girl was just a bit shorter than herself, Kiyri thought.

"Who..." The first girl, Enria apparently, started. Kiyri watched both intently. She held out both hands, to show them she had no weapons, in a peaceful gesture. She said nothing. She didn't even bother to draw magic from the earth because only a fool would attack a complete stranger who was not attacking first. The sword could only be a precaution.

From previous experience, she knew it calmed strangers slightly if she didn't immediately start chattering at them. Besides, Enria had started to ask a question first. However, the short girl looked expectant, and she knew better than to remain totally silent. "I am a friend. You may sheathe your sword, I will not hurt you," she said simply. She spoke in Common because apparently these two could speak it, although she could speak Kastian if necessary.
