I decided to make a fairy garden for my granddaughter to play with. Well, maybe for us both since I am enjoying putting it all together. She is coming tomorrow and bringing a fairy friend. I also picked up some fairy dust for the path so she can sprinkle it when she gets here. Can't wait :cheering: Posted Image Today I am working on making a fairy door. It is suppposed to be a portal into the enchanted world of fairies. I even found a few floating plants for my little pond. Posted Image |

Awww, that is so darn cute! She is going to love it. You need one of those little fairies that Whisper used to make. This is the best one that I have seen and I'm partial to the pond. Where did you get all this stuff? |

Thank you for saying that T. I had a lot of fun making the garden. I'll have to check with Whisper and see if she still has any fairies. I tried to buy some today but it seems they sell out very fast in the spring. This all started yesterday when I was at Lowes yesterday and saw 2 pots of Irish moss marked down. I had been thinking of making a fairy garden for quite a while the timing was right. The tub was given to me several years ago by a special friend before she passed away. The handles were long since broken off but I'm glad I found a use for it. I think it would have made her very happy. I cut the limb out of a dying maple tree that had a nice hole in it. The bottom of the limb is in the dirt and the top is under the roof. I coated it with a sealant to try to keep it from rotting further. I used some chicken wire and cocoa fiber for the top and glued it on. The plant to the left with the berries I have had for about 3 years. It is a Tom Thumb Cotoneaster. I have moved it so many times I think I stunted it's growth. I did trim some of the branches to make it fit the tub. It reminded me of a little apple tree with the berries. The one on the right is an asparagus fern which was pretty cheap. My little pond is a tub from KFC that they put sides in. I spray painted it blue and glued some glass stones along the edge. When I was at the pond store they gave me a few pieces of frogbit to float in the pond. I made the arbor from a roll of twist tie wire. I braided 2 pieces for the outside and strung it together with more wire. The rest of the ornamental pieces were in a auction grab bag. The small rocks were in defferent spots around my big pond and I had a nice big bag of leftover garden soil that filled the planter. I saw some really cute ideas for a bird house made from an acorn. I don't have any acorns right now but I'm looking. I'm also going to make a small table and 2 chairs when I find the right stuff. I guess the more the merrier when it comes to a fairy garden. |

The only Fairy I have is his one. She would have to sit in a place out of the rain and weather though..............I don't get notices from the forum in my email so I don't know you've posted anything unless I check on here so that's why I gave you my email address. Posted Image Posted Image |

I added some instructions in the Forum Information section for you to have a look at Whisper. Check your settings and see if they look like the ones I posted. |

I figured you probably had. I posted a question in the forum information section asking everyone if they are able to get notices. |

Thanks Whisper. Funny thing is my husband who already thinks I am a little strange even making the garden is giving me ideas on what to put in it. He argued with me that the garden was for me to play with and not my granddaughter. :) I guess he is partially right because I am having a lot of fun. I am already thinking of a bigger one in the yard  |
