Hope some of you like the new pond decorations. I'm sure no one else has a big white box next to their pond. A trendsetter I am. ^_^ http://youtu.be/Nsxy-iOygO4 |

Getting a bit of rain, are we? It doesn't look so bad, T. Just as long as the fish can't swim out of the pond. Your pond is looking so nice. It sure has developed into a nice feature. I see, now, how the stone path/steps you made fit into the pond landscape. Very nice. Was this rain part of the system that gave Seattle its snowfall? We're about the reap the benefits of that system tomorrow with a forecast of several inches of new snow. Going below zero tonight. It's already colder than I prefer. |

A little might be an understatement. So far the fish have not been able to swim out. I suppose they could on the one end if they really wanted to but if they do they will have a big surprise when the water recedes. :yikes: The pond is coming along. I have big plans as always for this coming year but time always runs out so not sure how much will get done. I guess I should have posted a video before of the steps and how they fit in with the pond. Yes, DP the system we have is part of what Seattle is getting. I guess they are getting hammered up there. We had snow off and on for a few days but nothing that hung around until Tuesday night I guess. We had 4 inches that night then lots of rain after. I have been watching the temp on your weather sticker and yep, it's colder than a well diggers hind-end. Zero is just too darn cold for us "older folks". Hopefully it won't last too long for you. T |

On Friday almost my whole liner was floating either on top of the pond or just a few inches below. I've seen it float before but just a small section at the deep end. The only part of the pond where the liner stayed put is in the mid-section where my lily pots were. The fish didn't seem to mind at all and just swam around looking for a handout. :swimfishy: By Saturday the liner was going back into place and by Sunday it was back to normal although the water level in the pond was about a 1.5 feet lower than normal. I topped it off today and all is well. I was concerned that the underlayment might get miss placed which would have meant that I would have to tear parts of the pond apart to fix it. Boy am I glad that it ended as well as it did. Another crisis averted.... :) |

I took these pics of the pond before I filled it. It was only down about a foot from normal pond level. You can see with water marks on the rocks. For it to overflow like it did the water level had to rise about 6 inches. All fish accounted for and no harm done so it was a good day in fish paradise. Posted Image Posted Image |
