I got a new camera today and thought I would test it out.
We finally have some nice weather and my lilies decided to come out of their shell. Pond is green now but at least the fish feel like they are safe. The pond stayed clear until I potted and fertilized the lilies. I think I had the same thing happen last year too. I'm not going to worry about it though as I have some nice flowers right now and I'm going to be happy with that.

The lily pads in this shot look a little pale but it's the sun and wow wee do we have sun today!

You call that an algae bloom. I had the mother of all blooms that just subsided about 10 days ago. I'd say you could not see 1 inch into the water at its height. I attribute it to all the crap from the fallen 60 foot tree that resided at the bottom of my pond for months plus the over feeding of the fish by my neighbors when I was out of town this spring.

Lilies are looking good. You must be way behind weather wise my Iris finished blooming weeks ago.

You had a mother load of bloom and a mother load of trees this year in your poor pond Froggy. I still can't believe you lucked out with no leaks. The pond fairies were sure looking after you then.

I am way far behind you weather wise then. My daffodils lasted weeks and weeks this year. I have never seen them stay in bloom for so long in the 11 years we have lived here. The weather just stayed overcast and rain for weeks. BUT we are now getting some good days! Heck, I checked my lotus today and there is another aerial springing up and I was one happy camper! It just might take off this year (fingers and toes crossed)!

Is this your lotus from last year or a new one?

Oh, it is the new one for this year. The way I worded that though was confusing :noclue:

I have two pads floating on top of the water surface. One that is close to the surface and a new one sprouting up from the tuber. This is super progress for me!
