Leader of the NDP Posts: 353 Group: New Democratic Party Member #39 Joined: June 10, 2009	NDP BBQ FUNDRAISER REGINA, SK DINNER BY DONATION SILENT AUCTION AND RAFFLE OF DONATED ART,CULTURAL AND OTHER ITEMS RECOMMENDED DONATION-$20 MENU: STEAK; BURGERS; HOT DOGS OR SMOKIES JUICE;MILK AND POP SALAD (GREEN AND POTATO) MANY DESSERTS Local NDP MPs and MLAs attended the event. Each was given a few minutes to speak. Roy Romanow did the ask for dollars for a possible upcoming election. Then three(3) validators spoke on, why they are voting for Sam and the NDP. Validator 1 was a unemployed worker in Regina, his UIC is about to run out and he is worried about being able to make his mortgage. He stated that he was supporting the NDP because Sam wants to fix UIC and get him a job,again. Validator 2 was a senior that felt the NDP was the best choice for a more universal health care system citing the Healthy Canada Act that Peter Gordon and the Liberals let die via a prolonged absence and that they could no longer be trusted on health issues. Validator 3 was a farmer. He spoke at length that the NDP is best voice for the west and will stand up to Quebec. He also ended his speech with, " I'm a farmer and I vote NDP!" The crowd erupted with cheers. Then Sam Seaborne spoke briefly to the gathered crowd. Quote: Ladies and gentleman, Brothers and Sister, I am most honoured by the support of everyone in attendance. The donations pouring in for us and the great speeched from ordinary Canadians. This session of parliament has been a roller coaster ride, we have seen 2 PMs and could see a third. And that everyone would be a miscarriage of justice. Canadians need to have their say, once again. Peter Gordon wrestled power away from the PC party and then stopped coming to work. Yet kept getting a salary. We had the rewrite the throne speech for it even be respectable. We had to propose motions on clear rules for separation. We table the Healthy Canada bill. The NDP were, and are, the only people working on the Hill. We had hoped that after the NDP throne speech that we could move on to a budget, healthcare and UI reform and then deal with workers rights. But NO! The Liberals stopped showing up for work and parliament was unable to function. The Liberals don't want a Healthy Canada, the Liberals don't care about the growing unemployed, they don't care about Quebec leaving Canada and they obviously could care less about workers. There is only one party, that you can count. That is Canada's NDP! You Can Count on Us! Thank you. Sam stayed at the BBQ for a few hours to mingle with his supporters.
