Mr Speaker,

During my admittedly brief time as the elected minister for this portfolio it was concern that many government programs and indeed the wider ethos of the civil service was one of inefficiency and waste. Given the downwards pressure government debt places on economic growth, coupled with the tendency for such pressures to reduce public confidence in the economy, what specific, if any, actions will this government be taking to reduce waste and increase efficiency?
