Raise all points of order or points of information here. Format:
The difference between those two is that a point of order is raised when you want to point out that a rule has been possibly broken and hope the Speaker can look into that. A point of information is when you are clueless about what the rules are for X and Y scenario and so you need the Speaker's guidance. |

Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of information. Should Bill C-38 be enacted, would the death penalty still be applied to those already sentenced - or would those sentences be automatically commuted to life imprisonment? In short - would the moratorium be retroactive? |

On the Point of Information raised by the member from Ottawa - Carleton: Nothing in Bill C-38 expressly commutes sentences already issued by the courts to any other punishment. |

Mr Speaker, I rise on a point of information. Could you clarify the rules on ministers responding to points made by other ministers in debate on ministerial statements? The rules state that ministers may but are not required to respond to questions. Are ministers permitted to respond to points of fact made by members in debate on their ministerial statements? |

Speaker: The member who makes the original statement may respond only once to all questions and comments raised subsequently. |

Point of Information, Mr. Speaker, in the event that a Member wishes to extend or revise his comments in a debate on a Ministerial Statement, may he request permission to do so from the dais? |

Speaker: Generally members are expected not to speak from both sides of their mouth. You speak once, that is all. If you want to clarify or recant what you said, you may do so with the press. |

I rise on a point of order, Mr. Speaker. Which Standing Order grants you the authority to simply decide which sub-amendments are attached to a main motion? http://z3.invisionfree.com/Politics_Canada...ndpost&p=988151 |

I rise on a point of information, Mr. Speaker. What is the rule on amending statements after they have been delivered to the House? |
